It's not uncommon to hear stories about WWE security taking away signs during events, and the company will even edit some of them out following live broadcasts.

And of course, there was a story last week about WWE security forcing fans to cover up the "AEW" logo for any merchandise they were wearing, prior to Monday Night Raw in Cleveland, Ohio.

Well, similar incidents took place during last night's episode of SmackDown Live in Buffalo, New York. According to PWInsider.com, security took away "the BOSS signs from the crowd" in the KeyBank Center.

Of course, the "boss" probably means Sasha Banks, whose nickname is "The Legit Boss." Perhaps this was done so that WWE could continue its portrayal of Banks as a heel. Obviously, it doesn't help if fans in the crowd are showing their support for her.

There was another incident back in May, when WWE security confiscated a pair of signs that read "You aren't MJF" and "Save us HHH." The signs appeared early on in the broadcast, only to disappear.

Banks was at ringside to support best friend Bayley during the latter's SmackDown Women's Championship match against Nikki Cross. Bayley was able to retain her title, but she was attacked by Shayna Baszler after the match.

After a four-month absence, Banks returned to WWE in August - attacking Natalya to solidify her first heel turn on the main event roster. Banks has done a tremendous job portraying a heel character up to this point, and her feud with Becky Lynch was one of the WWE's best in 2019. But those who support Banks as a heel better be sure not to bring in any signs to live events, because they could very well be confiscated.

It's Strange How Fans Can't Have Freedom

Fans who pay for tickets should simply be allowed to bring in any wrestling signs or merchandise they want. It's not fair for WWE to simply decide what signs/clothing the fans can bring into the arena. But they're obviously not going to stop this any time soon, and fans just have to accept it.
