Fans expecting to tune into Raw next week will be treated to three matches for the members of the Shield, one of which includes Sheamus.
Since their reunion nearly two months ago, The Shield began feuding with The Bar (in pursuit of their Raw Tag Team Championships), and Samoa Joe. On this week's episode of Monday Night Raw, Roman Reigns narrowly defended his Intercontinental Championship over Jason Jordan, only to get attacked by Samoa Joe.
As for Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins, they lost to Cesaro and Sheamus in the main event - thanks to interference from Samoa Joe. But according to WWE, the three men won't have to wait long to exact revenge.
The news that Sheamus will compete is a little surprising after news broke that the star is suffering from spinal stenosis, the same condition that caused Edge to retire early. Many expected that this news would be the end for the Irish star, and was also attributed to his missing Raw the week prior.
Though Samoa Joe hasn't officially aligned himself with The Bar yet, WWE has teased about him becoming their latest member. With all three having the common enemies, WWE may be looking at putting Joe with the Raw Tag Team Champions.
Reigns and Cesaro last faced off on the Nov. 16, 2015, episode of Monday Night Raw in a WWE World Heavyweight Championship tournament, with the former winning the match.
The Bar and Shield have feuded on the Oct. 2, 2017, episode of Raw, when Cesaro and Sheamus attacked Reigns during an Intercontinental Championship match against The Miz. A month later, The New Day came out to distract Ambrose and Rollins, allowing The Bar to steal the Raw Tag Team Championships.
Reigns - whom the WWE has pushed to be the face of the company since The Shield's original breakup - has already feuded with most of the main stars on the roster. That means we should expect his rivalry with Samoa Joe to last for the time. But with Reigns rumored to face Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 34, the rivalry with Joe may not last all that long.
