You'd think getting in the shower was one of the first things a wrestler would want to do after a grueling match. But we've learned enough over the years to know that isn't always the case.

This week's Something To Wrestle With podcast was a bit unique in that host Bruce Prichard told a very strange story involving Sensational Sherri and Sapphire. Prichard managed Randy Savage and Sherri in a feud against Dusty Rhodes and Sapphire between 1989 and 1990, with the storyline coming to an end at WrestleMania VI.

But the two females also worked a few house shows together as Vince McMahon wanted Sherri to teach Sapphire the ins and outs of the business.

The pair were travel partners and friends outside of the ring. Sherri, though, couldn't stand Sapphire's hygiene as the latter would not wash her ring attire or even really take a shower while on the road.

As Prichard recalls, he and Vince were called after a fight broke out between the two. Sherri had apparently had enough of Sapphire's poor habits and beat her up before dragging her to the showers. It took a while for the pair to be separated.

Sherri was of the very understandable view that keeping one's ring gear clean was respectful to their colleagues - and that Sapphire refused to observe common cleanliness rules really got to her.

Sherri's The Real MVP

We've seen several stories of wrestlers who didn't care to wash their ring gear or shower as often as needed in the past. But getting beat up for the distasteful habit is a little less common in those circles.

It should be said that Sherri must have been one heck of a fighter in real life because she was a lot smaller than Sapphire and, as Prichard tells it, was able to beat her bigger friend up to get her to be more inviting.
