With All Elite Wrestling now another great option for wrestlers, several WWE stars have been linked with the startup promotion in the past several months.

One of the latest rumors involves Matt Hardy. The veteran's contract is set to expire in February and, according to Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Radio, a move to AEW could be what's next.

The 45-year-old is understood to be in negotiations over a renewal but it's been suggested that he wants assurances where his usage is concerned. Hardy has been used to put talent over in recent times and he's not happy with that. That's reported to be one of the main points of discourse as it pertains to the contract talks.

Meltzer reckons the Hardy Boy will most probably join AEW.

“I’ve heard more about people who are probably coming to AEW. There’s rumors about Matt Hardy," the wrestling insider said recently.

"Again, his contract is up in a couple of months. I think that he’s doing Broken Matt Hardy segments so whether it’s Impact or Ring Of Honor or AEW…in that situation if you’re trying to be high profile then AEW is your best bet. I would think that he might end up there.”

The Discontent Is Strong In This One

There's a bit of discontent within the Hardy camp at the moment. Matt's wife Reby recently took a shot at WWE over their usage of her husband, who is still one of the most creative talents in the business.

WWE could have probably done a lot better with the star's "Broken" gimmick, as well as the "Woken" one. But it appears that they just aren't keen on giving him a push, at least not while his brother Jeff remains out.

When it comes to in-ring performance, Hardy is a shadow of his former self. But he's well within his rights to feel misused.
