Seth Rollins is making news with his controversial quotes expressing pride in the WWE product. The talented Rollins is the face of the company right now with his Universal Championship reign starting at WrestleMania 35 with a win over Brock Lesnar. Fans enjoyed the moment, but they remained critical of the WWE product with lackluster storylines on Raw and Smackdown. Rollins took aim at some wrestlers that joined the fans in calling out WWE.

Will Ospreay of New Japan would be the main target as Rollins went after him with some vengeful tweets. Even Rollins’ close friend Dean Ambrose was criticized by Seth for his comments about the misery that came along with following the WWE creative process. This is not the only instance of a current WWE star having beef with another wrestler outside of the company. We will look at some other moments of inter-promotional drama with ten other WWE wrestlers that had a beef with a non-WWE star.

10 Baron Corbin And Will Ospreay

Baron Corbin joined the conversation during the recent Seth Rollins vs Will Ospreay drama. A tweet from Corbin would see him make fun of Ospreay by not knowing who the NJPW junior heavyweight star even is.

Ospreay fired back with a brutal shot referencing Corbin is the reason why Raw’s interest is down when it comes to ratings and fan interest. Corbin wanted to get involved in the drama with Rollins, but he now finds a new enemy outside of WWE.

9 Randy Orton And Bully Ray

The feud between Randy Orton and Ring of Honor’s Bully Ray reached a new level in recent years, but it started back during their time together in WWE. Reports indicated that Orton felt Bully was unsafe in the ring after suffering an injury in a match against each other.

Orton insulted Bully on social media during a time when Orton called out wrestlers that did too many dives in their offense. Bully posted a photo of his dive and Orton clowned him for being an old and out of shape wrestler rather than the young wrestlers doing it to make a name.

8 Lio Rush And Emma

Lio Rush is having his own problems in WWE today, but it started in his first few months under contract. The news of Emma getting released from WWE would see Rush post a tweet in bad taste making fun of Emma losing to Asuka right before the firing.

Main roster talents like Bray Wyatt and Kevin Owens called him out for the terrible comment. Rush claimed to have learned from it, but he also referenced that Emma did not return his messages when he apologized. It makes sense since he mocked her right after she lost her dream job.

7 Matt Hardy And Paul London

One of the longest backstage feuds in wrestling feature Matt Hardy and Paul London taking issue with each other. They were involved in a real-life love triangle with the late Ashley Massaro. London did shoot interviews after his WWE release and claimed Hardy tried to sabotage him backstage.

Hardy fired back as they clearly did not have any love for each other. Their time together in ROH earlier in the decade featured an idea to feud that London turned down according to his own claims. London and Hardy had no interest in making peace even when working together again.

6 Ricochet And Ethan Page

A recent instance of a WWE wrestler having issues with an Impact Wrestling wrestler on social media featured Ricochet and Ethan Page exchanging words. Ricochet made fun of Page’s pictures by saying he needed to work out more to get in proper shape.

Page did not find any humor in it and decided to tell off Ricochet while making fun of his lack of charisma. Ricochet tried to make peace, but Page felt Ricochet’s jokes in the past have been in poor spirit.

5 The Revival And Cody Rhodes

The popularity of All Elite Wrestling in the early stages has many wrestlers rumored to make the jump from WWE after Dean Ambrose. Scott Dawson and Dash Wilder of The Revival clearly are the frontrunners to leave at some point partially thanks to a former real-life feud with Cody Rhodes.

There was a fun-spirited debate between fans of the Young Bucks and the Revival regarding the best tag team in the world. Cody entered the fray by taking shots at Dawson and Wilder on behalf of the Young Bucks. It turned into a running joke that now may see the two working together since the bad blood has turned into a fun rib.

4 Dana Brooke And Amber O'Neal

Independent wrestler Amber O’Neal went after Dana Brooke on social media when Dana was involved in a short-term storyline with O’Neal’s then husband Luke Gallows. The couple of Amber and Gallows appeared together on various independent shows and a few NJPW shows before he signed with WWE.

O’Neal would insult the looks of Brooke when she took part in the backstage skits of Gallows and Karl Anderson playing doctors. The marriage between Gallows and O’Neal ended shortly after with a divorce coming. Amber insulting his co-workers likely played the deciding role in the tension starting.

3 Seth Rollins And Austin Aries

Will Ospreay is not the only wrestler outside of WWE that has had problems with Seth Rollins. Former WWE star Austin Aries had a well-known backstage feud with Rollins during their time together in Ring of Honor about a decade ago.

Rollins was the young rising star known as Tyler Black while Aries was still an established top star. Aries reportedly talked management out of having him lose to Rollins on a major show which delayed his title win. A couple of interviews at the time would see Aries criticize Rollins for his wrestling style. It certainly worked out better for Seth than Aries in the end.

2 Kevin Owens And Low Ki

Kevin Owens has always been a polarizing figure in wrestling due to his look and wrestling style. Many old school personalities take issue with Owens’ weight and his decision to wrestle in a t-shirt and basketball shorts.

Low Ki was apparently one of those wrestlers that did not have too much respect for him. Owens revealed in an interview that Low Ki buried him in the past when the idea of a match against each other was discussed. Another moment would see Owens criticize Low Ki for refusing to lose to Cesaro in a PWG match as well.

1 AJ Styles And Johnny Impact

AJ Styles is currently in WWE as a consistent performer and Johnny Impact is one of the top stars of Impact Wrestling. The roles used to be reversed about a decade ago when the two had a high-profile moment of conflict.

Styles was the one to insult Johnny for his WWE run as John Morrison. The claim of AJ was that Morrison was stealing his moves along with other wrestlers in Impact at the time. Morrison laughed it off, but Styles seemed upset at the use of the moves. The two did make peace enough to have a match in FEW during their mutual time as free agents.
