35 editions later, WrestleMania remains the most prestigious event in professional wrestling. The biggest stars usually leave their mark at WrestleMania, creating moments that last a lifetime. Every superstar would ideally love a WrestleMania moment, as well as a winning record at the event.

But even some of the biggest names in the history of the industry have racked up more losses than wins, giving them a surprising overall record. Of course that never stopped any of them from reaching top heights, although most fans would have anticipated the figures to be different. Here are 10 WWE stars you didn't know have a losing record at WrestleMania.

10 Jeff Hardy: 1-5

Jeff Hardy made his WrestleMania debut in spectacular fashion in 2000, featuring in an iconic match that is still talked about to this day. While he failed to pick up the WWE Tag Team Championship with Matt, Jeff put on an incredible showing.

He would have to wait until WrestleMania 33 to earn his first victory, which happened to be the return of The Hardy Boyz as they celebrated the occasion by being crowned as the new WWE Raw Tag Team Champions. At this point, it is probably too late for Hardy to catch up to all the losses that he has accumulated over the years.

9 Batista: 3-4

As one of the most pushed stars of his era, most fans would have assumed that Batista has a winning record. The Animal hasn't been in top form at the Grandest Stage of Them All, as evident by the lack of victories. His first WrestleMania appearance took place in 2004 when Batista teamed up with Ric Flair and Randy Orton to defeat The Rock 'n' Sock Connection.

The next year, it was Batista's turn to headline WrestleMania 21 as he defeated Triple H to win the WWE World Heavyweight Championship for the first time, which remains arguably the highlight of his career.

8 Ric Flair: 1-4

Despite having wrestled for so many years, Ric Flair has only competed at 5 WrestleMania overall, holding an unimpressive record of 1-4. He has also never won a singles match at the event with his only victory being apart of a Tag Team match at WrestleMania XX. Flair spent the majority of his prime years away from the WWE, which explains his absence from the history records.

His match against Randy Savage at WrestleMania VIII was Flair's sole appearance at the event prior to the death of WCW. Since then, he has been a part of some memorable bouts - none of which are more legendary than his final match against Shawn Michaels at WrestleMania XXIV.

7 Dolph Ziggler: 1-6

Although he has always aspired to be like his idol Shawn Michaels, Dolph Ziggler has fallen short of following his footsteps. Not only have his performances been far away from being worthy of being dubbed Mr. WrestleMania, but he hasn't had too many significant matches in the first place.

Add in the fact that he has only picked up one victory out of seven matches, and you probably have a good idea as to why Ziggler has been unable to remain over with the fans. His only win took place at WrestleMania 28 when he was apart of Team Johnny that defeated Team Teddy.

6 Chris Jericho: 5-9

Chris Jericho has great appreciation towards WrestleMania and what it means for the industry as well as fans, which is why he has always attempted to be involved in some capacity. And while his relationship with the WWE may have hit a speed bump, that doesn't change the fact that he has been an integral part of WrestleMania in the past two decades.

But for all the trash talk that he has pumped into the WWE Universe, Jericho's 5-9 is far from impressive. Now that he is signed to AEW, it may be some time before we see him at WrestleMania again.

5 The Miz: 3-5

WrestleMania XXVII was The Miz's big moment as he defeated John Cena in the main event to retain the WWE Championship. Granted he did get an assist from The Rock, but it was still an amazing position to be in.The Miz has also won the Intercontinental Championship at WrestleMania 29, which is his final victory to date.

Coming off a loss to Shane McMahon, The Miz has been on a bad streak with some consecutive losses. Considering The Miz's style of wrestling, it is very likely that he has a couple more WrestleMania matches left in him - so the door is open for improvement.

4 Triple H: 10-13

From main events to title matches, Triple H has done everything there is to do at WrestleMania. In fact, he has become a prominent face on yearly basis despite his inactivity throughout the year, Triple H still puts the boots on when WrestleMania season comes around. Given his past reputation for hogging the spotlight and burying some talents, it is surprising that he currently has a record of 10-13.

Throughout his career, Triple H has in fact put over a number of Superstars including Batista, John Cena, Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins and Daniel Bryan - all of whom picked up clean wins at the event.

3 Kurt Angle: 4-6

Kurt Angle has engaged in some of the greatest battles in WrestleMania history with notable opponents such as Brock Lesnar, Eddie Guerrero and Shawn Michaels - three significant matches which he lost.

Fans would have expected his record to be much better, and while Angle did get off to a good start as far as the event is concerned, he lost every single match since his victory against Kane at WrestleMania X8. But at least he did get to finally end the losing streak after teaming up with Ronda Rousey to take down Triple H and Stephanie McMahon at WrestleMania 34.

2 Randy Orton: 6-9

Not many Superstars have competed at WrestleMania as much as Randy Orton has, although The Viper has a surprising record of 6-9. Coming off a loss against AJ Styles at WrestleMania 35, Orton's record isn't indicative of his status as a star. Many of his losses came against top stars; there's certainly no embarrassment in losing to The Undertaker for instance.

Given that Orton has no plans to retire anytime soon, he still has enough time to turn his record into a positive one. But as his role decreases with every passing year, it's more likely that Orton's record will only get worse.

1 Shawn Michaels: 6-11

Shawn Michaels didn't earn the nickname Mr. WrestleMania for his record at the event, but it was rather his iconic performances that made him worthy of such title. Having been involved in some of the best matches in WrestleMania history, it is surprising that Michaels holds a record of 6 wins and 11 losses.

He had been featured in five main events beginning with his WrestleMania XII bout against Bret Hart and ending with his last appearance against The Undertaker in 2010. When it comes to the event, Shawn Michaels will always be among the top names associated with it.
