The WWE product is ever-changing, as Vince McMahon aims to keep his programming

fresh for the fans. As a result, we’ve seen many Superstars come and go from the

company over the years. WWE has started to make even more signings of independent

stars over the past few years, especially after NXT started to hone their talents so well.

Despite having one of their best rosters in a long time, WWE has continued sticking with

some disappointing Superstars who don’t really provide much into improving their

programming.WWE has started to reshuffle their roster, and in the process replace

some of the ineffective talents.

There are many Superstars on the main roster right now who are barely even used,

simply because of how underwhelming they are. Because these wrestlers aren’t used

very often, they are are wasting crucial spots on the rosters of both Raw and

Smackdown Live!

These talents haven’t impressed Vince McMahon with their work and because of their

limited skill set, are sporadically used in WWE television. It’s time that WWE

startsreplacing these disappointing superstars with wrestlers who can provide more to

enhance the product. There are many Independent stars who could easily mould into

WWE and not only replace their wasteful talent, but provide massive upgrades as well.

These Independent stars could add something new to WWE programming and create

exciting stuff with their fantastic ability. They’re worthy of taking the places of some

disappointing WWE stars who have recently faded into obscurity. So let’s have a look at

the 10 WWE superstars who could easily be replaced by these excellent Independent

wrestlers.

20 WWE Superstar: Zack Ryder

via wallpaperscraft.com

The Long Island Iced-Z, Zack Ryder, isn’t really that “cool” anymore with  WWE

fans. He barely even appears on television these days, and Ryder’s popularity has

withered away, becoming irrelevant over time.

The former United States Champion hasn’t really been doing much since his feud with

Mojo Rawley, and has only appeared sporadically to put some stars over.

He’s been accused of becoming a lazy worker and only works Live events, but that too is only on occasion. Ryder is just wasting a spot on the Raw roster nowadays, and WWE should look into moving on from him.

19 Replaced With: MJF

via tpww.net

Maxwell Jacob Feinstein, better known as MJF, is a rising star on the independent scene

because of his work as an arrogant heel. He’s currently the Major League Wrestling

World Middleweight snff CZW World Champion, proving how high his stock is in the

indie scene.

MJF has a ton of charisma, which has worked in his favor to put him over. He’s also a

very sound wrestler, who has the ability to put on great matches against just about

anyone other talent. MJF is tailor-made for WWE because of his impressive personality,

which could have him easily replace Zack Ryder, and thus give WWE a more charismatic

character.

18 WWE Superstar: No Way Jose

via cagesideseats.com

Since getting the main roster call to Monday Night Raw earlier this year, No Way Jose’s

groovy nature wore out sooner than expected among fans. Jose was an entertaining

character in NXT, who was used to get the fans with his strong personality.

However, Jose failed to do that on the main roster, and creative has nothing for him

right now. He’s just doing live events and occasionally appears on WWE programming -

usually to put over someone over. His main roster call-up has been a complete failure,

and Jose should be replaced with someone who can actually get reactions from the

crowd to go along with entertaining segments.

17 Replaced With: Dalton Castle

via thechairshot.com

Dalton Castle is one of the most unique characters in professional wrestling right now,

as he’s quite the fascinating person who uses his unique personality to make for

some really quality work.

Castle has been doing work in Ring of Honor over the years, and he’s a great mid-carder

babyface, with so much love from the fans. Castle is accompanied by two of his “boys”

who act as human furniture while offering plenty of support.

Castle has the ability to derive genuine reactions from fans, andhe can be really popular in WWE with his gimmick. Castle can easily be an upgrade over No Way Jose and bring an outlandish side to Raw.

16 WWE Superstar: Sin Cara

via twitter.com

Things have not been the same for the character of Sin Cara since Mistico left the

company a few years ago, after which WWE stopped taking the character seriously.

While Hunico was given the responsibility of continuing to portray Sin Cara, he wasn’t

considered as a viable star and thus got sent back to NXT. He enjoyed an NXT Tag Team

Championship run with Kalisto as part of the “Lucha Dragons”, but Sin Cara has only

appeared sporadically since they split up.

He only puts over budding talents, and the fans simply have lost interest in him as well.

Sin Cara needs to be let go off by WWE, and they should look to bring in better

luchadors instead.

15 Replaced With: Rey Fenix

via aminoapps.com

Rey Fenix has gained a lot of popularity in the Independent scene recently, and his

amazing work in the Mexican wrestling circuit has not gone unnoticed.

Fenix is a dazzling luchador, capable of pulling off some amazing moves in the ring He’s

a compelling babyface, and. Fenix’s work has definitely caught the eye of WWE. They’ve

been for a while now, and looks like they truly have interest in signing him.

Fenix can be the perfect replacement to Sin Cara, as he’s actually capable of going over

as a big babyface because of his personality and move set. Fenix can even be a long-term

successor to Rey Mysterio and excel in WWE under the legendary luchador’s guidance.

14 WWE Superstar: The Ascension

via reddit.com

They might’ve been a dominant tag team on NXT, but The Ascension has been anything

but on the main roster, where they have failed miserably.

Since getting the main roster call-up, the former NXT Tag Team Champions have failed

to get over with the fans. The Ascension were accused of being copies of the Road

Warriors, which is why WWE refrained from pushing them.

They might appear on WWE television every now and then, but their job is to strictly

put over other stars. The Ascension doesn’t really have much of a chance to become a

top tag team in WWE, which is why it’s time to replace them.

13 Replaced With: The Briscoes

via youtube.com

The Briscoes have been a dynamic and electrifying duo at Ring of Honor for quite a

while now, with success in both singles and tag team competition. They have won the

ROH Tag Team Championship nine time, and are known for their hard-hitting style and

for being tough-as-nails competitors.

Not only can they elevate their tag team competition, but Jay Briscoe’s impressive

singles ability makes him an asset wherever he goes. WWE needs some serious tag

teams to buff up their division soon. Replacing the underwhelming Ascension with a

tougher, more intimidating tag team like the Briscoes could be a great move.

12 WWE Superstar: Dana Brooke

via wwe.com

Ever since she got prematurely called up the main roster, Dana Brooke hasn’t been up to

the mark in WWE’s reformed Women’s Division.

Despite being a strong competitor, Brooke hasn’t been able to use strength to her

advantage. The lack lack of improvement and poor in-ring ability has cost her dearly.

Brooke has been booked in short matches because of her little in-ring prowess, and has

been mostly been putting over other women on the roster.

Brooke doesn’t deserve a spot on the Raw roster right now and despite getting chances,

she’s been unable to attain the level of some her compatriots. She should be replaced

soon with someone who is more capable of competing toe-to-toe against the other

female wrestlers.

11 Replaced With: Taya Valkyrie

via diva-dirt.com

Taya Valkyrie has shone big time, ever since she arrived at Impact Wrestling.

Valkyrie has been a terrific addition to their knockouts division, thanks to her superb

and impressive wrestling skills. Valkyrie has years of experience in the Mexican

wrestling scene, where she learned a lot about the technical side of wrestling.

Valkyrie is a hard-hitting competitor who can fight it out against the best of them and

has a charismatic character as well. She could be a fine addition to WWE’s booming

Women’s Division, and bring a different shade to it with her “royal” character. Replacing

Brooke with Valkyrie would be a huge upgrade for WWE, who should bring in this talen

female in order to buff up their Raw Women’s Division even more.

10 WWE Superstar: Jinder Mahal

via heavy.com

After having an incredible 2017, Jinder Mahal came back to earth this year ,when he was

slowly transitioned into the lower mid-card superstar. Mahal might have won the U.S.  Championship at Wrestlemania 34, but he’s been a jobber to the stars since

dropping the title. He’s gone back to putting over other stars and got a stereotypical

gimmick which has done him no good at all.

Mahal’s “rise” is now over, as WWE’s job of attaining the Indian audience’s attention

has been achieved. Mahal should just be released at this point. He’s wasting a spot on

Raw with his underwhelming talent, and WWE should replace him with someone who

can actually captivate the audience.

9 Replaced With: Jeff Cobb

Jeff Cobb attained much of his initial success at Lucha Underground, where he was a

masked superstar named Matanza Cueto. He won the Lucha Underground

Championship in his first match, and has since become a prominent feature in the

Independent scene.

Cobb has recently been competing around America and just started appearing at Ring of Honor, where he’s currently the ROH Television Champion.

Cobb is a very strong, technically-sound individual whose Olympic background will

interest WWE. He can be a good fit there, with his technical style and excellent in-

ring prowess. Cobb can be a massive upgrade over Mahal, and definitely improve

WWE’s product with his fantastic ability in the squared circle.

8 WWE Superstar: Mojo Rawley

via the national.ae

It feels as if WWE’s gamble with pushing Mojo Rawley as a heel hasn’t really paid off.

The former Hype Bro has failed to get over as a heel and has been shoved out of WWE programming for good. Despite being a hard-hitting individual, Rawley just doesn’t have enough charisma or legitimacy about him to impress WWE fans. Vince has probably gotten over him now and he should be replaced soon.

Rawley’s just wasting a spot on Raw by doing nothing noticeable and has failed as a singles Superstar. With WWE’s ratings faltering, replacing him with a more believable tough guy could definitely improve WWE’s situation.

7 Replaced With: Walter

via twitter.com

Walter has gained a lot of attention recently because of his impressive work on the U.K. wrestling scene. There, he’s dominated much of his competition, thus rising to the top of many independent promotions.

He’s currently the Progress World Champion, as well as Defiant Internet Champion. Walter is a huge name on the indie wrestling scene, with his brawny physique and hard-hitting wrestling style. It’s made him a hit figure in his country, and he’s earned interest from WWE.

While he’s hesitant about joining them, if the company were to give him serious assurances, Walter could change his mind. He’ be a great replacement for Mojo Rawley.

6 WWE Superstar: Goldust

via wwe.com

It seems like Goldust’s celebrated career in WWE is set to end soon, as he’s simply no longer fit enough to compete regularly for them anymore.

Goldust has been a loyal employee for WWE for almost the past two decades now, but injuries in recent years have slowed him down quite a bit. Goldust remarked in a recent interview about how he plans on retiring sometime next year, as he plans for a life beyond wrestling.

It’s time that WWE gives Goldust a role backstage, given his experience in the wrestling world. Goldust should be replaced as an in-ring competitor with someone younger and better, as his time entertaining audiences with his “bizarre” mannerism is coming to a close.

5 Replaced With: Pentagon Jr.

via wp.com

After his terrific work for Impact Wrestling recently, Pentagon Jr. has gained a lot of interest from WWE, who want to sign the masked marvel.

Pentagon rose as a star at Lucha Underground a few years ago, but he has also escalated into a top star for the Independent scene as well. He even won the Impact World Championship earlier this year ,and gave a stunning performance at All In to go along with the title run.

Pentagon Jr.’s “no fear” mantra and amazing ability in the ring make him an asset wherever he goes, and WWE will want him because of that. Pengaon Jr. can be a great replacement for Goldust and while he isn’t as “bizarre” character-wise, Pentagon’s incredible wrestling ability can make him a big star in WWE.

4 WWE Superstar: Apollo Crews

via pwmania.com

Apollo Crews arrived at WWE with a lot of hype around him due to his impressive work in the independent scene, but he could never really impress Vince that much.

After having a short stint in NXT, he was brought onto the main roster prematurely, and couldn’t get over as much as WWE had hoped. Crews has since been a lower to mid-card wrestler, whose reputation took a dip after he started doing comic stuff as a part of “Titus Worldwide.”

He’s just being wasted on Raw right now and because of his inability to get over, he’s having to put over other superstars instead. Crews might be a terrific in-rig wrestler, but is not cut out for WWE and should be replaced accordingly.

3 Replaced With: Moose

via wrestlinginc.com

The manner in which Moose has adapted to professional wrestling has been impressive, as the former NFL star has been dazzing for Impact Wrestling over the years. He’s been one of the promotion’s biggest stars, due to his mainstream popularity and often involvement in some of Impact’s top feuds.

Moose has proven his ability to develop a solid skill set as a wrestler and become a powerful, hard-hitting wrestler who annihilates his opponents. WWE must be interested in Moose, after seeing his work and knowing his history as a professional football player. They’re probably even more intent on signing him, because of his athletic background. Moose can be an upgrade over Apollo Crews, and because of his size and personality, could easily succeed in WWE.

2 WWE Superstar: Tye Dillinger

via wwe.com

Tye Dillinger’s run on the main roster has been anything but a “Perfect 10,” as he’s struggled to get that gimmick over with the fans - and more importantly with the creative team.

Vince McMahon doesn’t like the Perfect 10 gimmick at all, and as a result, Dillinger has been unable to stand out on Smackdown Live. He appears very occasionally these days, and mainly puts over other stars in his matches.

Dillinger’s lack of improvement in the ring or inability to make his gimmick popular has cost him badly, and he’s just wasting a spot on the Smackdown roster. It seems unlikely that Dillinger will ever get over with creative, so it makes sense to simply replace him.

1 Replaced With: Jay White

via caq.fr

“Switchblade” Jay White has been one of the breakthrough stars for New Japan Pro Wrestling this year. He had an excellent 2018 in the promotion, thanks to White’s impressive heel character - which has really gotten really over in Japan. It has simply turned White into one of the top heels overseas this year.

White not only portrays a fantastic character, but his mannerism and charisma helps him create some unique and creative feuds. WWE would love to sign an excellent talent like White, whose heel gimmick will surely do wonders in their promotion.

White can be a big upgrade over Dillinger because of his superior talent. If honed properly at WWE, he can also be a top heel for WWE in the near future.
