When it comes to WWE stars, they are always viewed as larger than life figures even at an advanced age. It doesn't matter whether someone is an active or retired wrestler, as nostalgia always allow older wrestlers to be relevant. There are many stars who appear to be too young to be grandparents at this point, and yet they have already reached that stage. Others may be old enough that it isn't a surprise, but considering that they were active wrestlers not too long ago, some fans may still find it shocking that they current have grandchildren.

With every passing year, there are wrestlers who adapt their latest role as a grandparent, and the numbers should only increase in the upcoming years. Several names on this list are still active in the scene, whether in the WWE or elsewhere, which is an impressive statistic as not many grandparents get to compete inside the squared circle. For many names on this list, they happen to private about their personal lives, which is possibly the very reason as to why fans may not be aware that they have become grandparents.

But then again, they do make a living off their image and certainly want to shed as many years off their age as possible. There aren't too many wrestlers who would be proud of being known as a grandparent to the public, at least until they reach a more advanced age. With today's list, we look at 15 WWE stars we didn't realize are grandparents:

15 Ted DiBiase

via wwe.com/twitter.com

It seems like not too long ago, Ted DiBiase Sr. was an active figure on the roster who attempted to buy his way out of every possible situation, including championship reigns. It's been years since he retired from the business, but his great relationship with the WWE has helped him remain relevant with younger generations. Last decade, his son Ted DiBiase Jr. was well on his way to carry the torch for the family as he became a member of Monday Night Raw for several years.

But he eventually opted to leave the wrestling industry behind, and has clearly been busy in his duties as a dad, which would make DiBiase Sr. a grandparent. DiBiase still looks good for his age, and it appears that he is enjoying his new experience as a grandfather. At least he finally gets to put his money to good use rather than wasting it on Virgil and other wasteful investments that he made over the course of his WWE career.

Now in his early 60s, and an ordained minister, DiBiase has beaten most of his peers to become one of the first wrestlers from his generation to turn into a grandparent. We wonder how generous he'll be with cash gifts for his grandkids. HAHAHAHA.

14 Ric Flair

via sportskeeda.com

It doesn't matter which year you started following wrestling, it is very likely that you have always viewed Ric Flair as an older wrestler. Thanks to his grey hair and facial features, Flair always had the old man's look although it clearly worked for him. Most wrestlers would have fell flat in his position and yet Flair managed to become an icon in more ways than one, as his legacy has transcended the wrestling industry.

Flair is very popular among rappers who seem to always refer to him in their songs, while also hanging out with The Nature Boy from time to time.

At 69 years old, it is not a shocker that Flair is a grandparent, but considering his wrestling character, it is just tough for some fans to imagine him as a grandparent.

He's also unofficially a stepfather to his fiancee Wendy Barlow's four children. Flair seems to be truly enjoying this chapter of his life despite having had some health issues in the past few years. After having maintained the same look for many years, Flair has visibly aged lately - making him look like a grandparent more than ever. Being Ric Flair, he will remain as flashy as wrestling fans have always known him to be.

13 Ken Shamrock

via instagram.com

It seems like it wasn't long ago when Ken Shamrock made plenty of headlines for signing with the WWE. He had been one of the top UFC fighters at the time, and his WWE stint was expected to produce a main eventer as he had the name recognition as well as the appearance to be a star. But Shamrock always fell short from the top, serving as a mid-carder for the majority of his run. Since leaving the WWE, fans have had the chance to see him back in UFC while also making some appearances in TNA.

Time has been kind to Shamrock's appearance thus far, remaining in top shape as he has always been. But one of the many things that have changed about him is that Shamrock is now a grandparent. And based on the photo above, he seems to be having one hell of a time along the way. Most fans probably still view Shamrock as the young UFC and WWE star who managed to succeed in both industries, and despite remaining active as an MMA competitor, Shamrock's time is now largely dedicated to his family especially his grandchildren who seem to have an important role in his life.

12 The Iron Sheik

via pinterest.com

Considering The Iron Sheik's antics over the years, it is still hard for fans to think of the man behind the persona. His character has remained very popular among younger generations thanks to the popular yet controversial Twitter account in his name, which makes it seems as if The Iron Sheik is still in his prime years as of today. But reality seems to indicate otherwise as he has recently joined some of his peers in their newest venture as a grandparent. We can only imagine The Iron Sheik's interactions with the kid, which are probably entertaining enough to warrant a reality TV show.

Based on his on-screen character, and the very little information fans know about The Iron Sheik's real life, most wouldn't expect him to have children, let along grandkids. But now we know that the world is a better place since The Iron Sheik's legacy will always be carried around for years to come. His most recent photos suggest that The Iron Sheik isn't looking too different from what we remember, which indicates that becoming a grandparent hasn't made The Iron Sheik feel or look his age yet. Talk about having a cooky grandfather in the family!

11 Steve Austin

via pinterest.com

Being the main pillar who kicked off the Attitude Era, fans will always find it hard to believe that Stone Cold Steve Austin is now a grandparent. He has been one since 2010 when his step-daughter gave birth, as Austin transitioned into a new chapter in his life. He may no longer be delivering stunners to all his foes on regular basis, but Austin looks just as we remember him in his prime years. Having known him with his bald look since his younger years, that is probably one of the reasons why Austin isn't looking like a grandparent yet. He became a step-grandfather when his adopted daughter Jade Adams, and daughter of his ex-wife Jeanie, and the late pro wrestler Chris Adams, gave birth back in 2010.

At 53 years old, Austin is among the youngest grandfathers in the industry, as not many of his peers have entered that stage yet.

Based on how fine he has aged thus far, it's safe to say that Austin won't be looking frail anytime soon. He will remain one of the baddest men on Earth regardless if he adds a couple more grandchildren or not, as evident by his latest appearance on RAW's 25th year anniversary show.

10 Irwin R. Schyster

via reference.com

It doesn't seem like it was long ago when Irwin R. Schyster was gracing our television screens with his weekly appearances on Raw. Following a memorable stint with the company, IRS left and went away from the limelight for many years. But he has recently been popping up in the news again as his son Bray Wyatt became among the top WWE Superstars for some time. There are many fans who remain unaware about the relationship between the two with some finding it to be shocking.

Not only is it surprising that Wyatt already has a few children, but even more so that IRS has become a grandfather. With most of the golden era wrestlers becoming grandparents in the past decade, it has now become the turn of New Generation stars as they enter a new chapter in their personal lives. It appears that the past few years have been very kind to IRS, who has witnessed both of his sons make it to the WWE and achieve success along the way, while also adapting his new role as a grandfather. He's clearly no longer the young Superstar that some fans may remember. Now, he'd better make sure the parents pay their taxes!

9 Bret Hart

via twitter.com

Having been a hero to so many people, it is only normal that fans have a tough time accepting that Bret Hart is no longer the same Superstar who captured the hearts of fans for many years. In the past couple years, Hart has considerably aged faster as opposed to previous years. Hart had four kids with his ex-wife Julie and their two daughters, Jade and Sabina, have each had children of their own, Kyra Beans and Grayson Knight Cassidy.

As you can see from the photo above, Hart appears to be truly enjoying his current environment as he is always surrounded with family.

It is far different than the WWE star lifestyle that he carried during his prime years, as Hart was known to have had plenty of fun during his journey. But these days, he has shifted his focus elsewhere - dedicating plenty of his time for his loved ones. Years of injuries and illnesses have taken their toll on Hart's overall health and appearance, but he is now more than happy to remain away from the action. He didn't particularly impress in his WWE appearances since his 2010 return, but that doesn't take away from his case as one of the best there ever will be.

8 Rikishi

via instagram.com

By now, most WWE fans are probably aware that Rikishi is the father of The Usos. And while they may be aware that his kids are now grown men, they will probably be surprised to learn that he has become a grandfather as well. Jimmy Uso had two kids from a previous relationship prior to dating Naomi. Jey has two sons as well.

Fourteen years have passed by since Rikishi was last an active wrestler in the WWE, and there have been some major changes since then. Not only did his sons make it to the WWE, but they have also become one of the best tag teams in recent years. On top of that, as well as his WWE Hall of Fame induction, Rikishi is now kept busy with his grandkids who seem very attached to him.

And while they probably won't be watching highlights of their grandfather's WWE career anytime soon, it must be unique for them to have someone who is still relatively young as their grandpa. He was a major influence on his kids in more ways than one, as not only was he always strongly present in their lives, but he also trained them to become professional wrestlers. And he will probably be young enough to prepare his grandchildren as well in the near future.

7 Vince McMahon

via tjrwrestling.com

For most WWE fans, he will always be the evil chairman who attempted and failed to take down Stone Cold Steve Austin. At 72 years old, McMahon may have visibly aged in recent times, but he remains in good enough shape to have another match. And he is certainly healthy enough to be taking risky bumps from Kevin Owens in the ring. He has already shown that he isn't a regular grandfather, as McMahon remains as involved as ever with the WWE. And he doesn't plan to slow down at all as he continues to be active in more ways than one, especially with his intentions to bring back XFL in 2020.

Throughout his career, McMahon has crashed with all three members of his family by constantly feuding on screen, but that's obviously not a true reflection regarding their relationship. Stephanie and Shane are both very close to their father, which is why the grandkids seem to always be around. As for his grandkids, Vince has three grandsons, fathered by Shane, and three granddaughters, raised by Stephanie. And if all his ventures weren't enough, then McMahon has gotten even busier thanks to them as they have taken plenty of his time since joining the family.

6 Batista

via prowrestling.wikia.com

It wasn't that long ago when Batista was crowned as one of the new faces of the WWE by winning the 2005 Royal Rumble. For the next few years, he would remain on top by capturing the WWE Title a number of times. But at a time when Batista was working hard to establish himself as a legitimate main event name in the WWE, he was dealing with some personal issues that required his attention. Among them was his 16-year old daughter having a kid, which seems to have had a strong effect on Batista.

He was helped by his friend the late Eddie Guerrero to come to a better understanding of his current situation.

Fast forward to 2018, Batista's grandkid is now set to enter high school.

That has to be one of the most intriguing stories, as you won't find many grandfathers who are apart of major Hollywood films while simultaneously being a dominant force inside the squared circle. In recent interviews, Batista has expressed his desire to return to the company before it's too late, as he would welcome a chance at a final run. If it does happen, that would allow Batista's grandkid to watch him in action.

5 Jake Roberts

via bleacherreport.com

The past few years have proven to be kind to Jake Roberts who managed to turn his life around with the support of his friend DDP. After having passed through some rough times to say the least, it appeared that Roberts had hit rock bottom. Some fans were worried about his health as his appearance significantly changed, but thanks to DDP as well as many others who provided support, Roberts was able to get back on his feet. Not only did he get healthy, but he also began training to return in good shape upon his WWE appearances.

In his prime years, Roberts used to always carry a snake around thanks to his WWE gimmick, but now he is too busy as his grandchildren have kept him occupied. When it comes to 80s stars, their personal lives aren't quite as mainstream as those who followed afterwards, which is why some fans will be surprised to read that Roberts is now a grandpa. There was a time when he truly looked like one as well, but Roberts has recaptured a taste of the youth days thanks to hard work and the will to change his life.

4 Bob Orton

via flickr.com

There was a time when Bob Orton's name was very hot in the wrestling industry. But as he transitioned into retirement, his legacy has been enhanced thanks to the rise of his son Randy Orton. At some point, WWE brought Bob back to be apart of some storylines with Orton, as they teamed up to take down The Undertaker. The company was always referring to Randy as a second generation Superstar by mentioning his father's career, but it seems like there may be another family member to come along and carry the torch.

In the past decade, Randy Orton has matured from a controversial star with backstage attitude to a family man who dedicates the vast majority of his time to his wife and children. Bob was once responsible for helping a young Randy establish himself in the business, but now that his son has become a main pillar in WWE, he seems to have directed his attention to the grandkids. Randy has two biological children, and is a stepfather to his wife Kim's three children.

It is only to be expect since all members of the value seem to truly value each other based on well they have gotten along over the years.

3 Kane

via twitter.com

Kane has been around for over two decades, and yet his personal life remains private for the most part. It is mainly due to two factors with the first being Kane's private personality, as he tends to keep to himself. He isn't exactly thirsty for the spotlight either, having shown that he is more than willing to put his peers over. The second reason is related to Kane's WWE character as he had to maintain kayfabe for several years.

Obviously this has all changed with Glenn Jacobs running for mayor of Knox County in Tennessee, as his family life has been brought to light, and it's been revealed his two daughters, Devan and Arista, gave birth, giving Kane a grandson and granddaughter.

And while most casual WWE fans probably know Kane, not many would be able to tell you any personal information about him, including some hardcore fans. And that is why it is surprising to hear that Kane is a grandfather.

As tough as it is to separate real life from on-screen characters, Kane never gave us the vibe that he would be as much of a family person as he is.

According to himself and those close to him, Kane dedicates plenty of his time to his family even when he happens to be on the road.

2 Sable

via twitter.com

Considering her appearance at the time, some believed that Sable was younger than she actually was, especially since he had a relatively long run for a Diva. Some fans still find it hard to believe that Sable has kids, and even more unbelievable that she is married to Brock Lesnar. At some point, she was one of the biggest stars in the WWE with a huge buzz surrounding her raunchy photo shoots. But since her departure from the WWE, followed by her marriage to Lesnar, Sable has focused on her family first by opting to stay away from the spotlight. And as such, some fans will probably be shocked upon hearing that Sable is now a grandmother.

Considering she was the crush of so many WWE fans, and involved in some of the edgiest content from the company, some will have a certain image of Sable due to her on-screen character. But in real life, Sable has taken on duties that some would have never thought she would even consider. It does seem like she went from being the hottest Diva in the WWE to a grandmother in a short period since it hasn't been that long since she was the center of attention.

1 Brock Lesnar

via twitter.com

Not many fans would guess that the reigning WWE Universal Champion is currently a grandparent. Since his arrival in the company, Lesnar has been the strongest force - dominating his opponent through devastating suplex and F5's, especially in his second stint. Lesnar's success has extended beyond the WWE as he also proved himself in the UFC by capturing the Heavyweight title, while also impressive with his talents. Like Stone Cold Steve Austin, Lesnar became a grandfather due to his stepdaughter having a child. Considering his WWE character and what we know about Lesnar, it is hard to picture him as a grandfather.

But it is especially tough to do so in present day as he remains a top Superstar in the WWE. And while it does appear like Lesnar has been wrestling for so long, he is only 40 years old. He debuted in the WWE at a young age, which is why most may think that he is older. And with a grandchild in the mix, Lesnar has beaten the likes of Hulk Hogan and Kevin Nash, whom he once ironically referred to as "grandpa" in a WWE promo.
