As of today, Vince McMahon remains in full control of the WWE with the final decisions coming down to him. While he has given Triple H some of his responsibilities (such as NXT and 205 Live) McMahon still has final say regarding the main product. But there is no doubt that he has come to greatly respect his son-in-law Triple H, who is expected to take over the reigns after him. McMahon has placed plenty of trust in Triple H by giving him major responsibilities, as well as listening to many of his opinions regarding independent talents as well as creative booking.

And as Triple H's influence grows more by the year, there are fans who appear to be excited at the prospect of him having control in the future. There was a time when fans had a different opinion about Triple H, but his move to management has earned some new supporters along the way - mainly due to his involvement in NXT as well as recruiting top talents from around the world.

McMahon and Triple H have enjoyed a great relationship over the years, but that doesn't mean that they haven't had some arguments along the way. While they agree more often than not, some of their opinions different in regards to certain Superstars - especially when it comes to the main event scene. With today's list, we look at 8 WWE stars Triple H wants to make a WWE Champion but Vince won't let him and 8 Vince wants but Triple H doesn't.

16 Triple H Wants: Finn Balor

via wwe.com

Considering his involvement in NXT, Triple H has built several friendships behind the scenes. He played a vital role in recruiting some top independent names to the WWE, and then later on served as somewhat of a mentor to many of these wrestlers. Finn Balor is one of the names who have benefited from their relationship with Triple H, as he was crowned the WWE Universal Champion early in his career. Unfortunately for him, an injury would derail his momentum for a while - and some would argue that he has yet to get it back.

Last year, there were reports that Triple H had grown frustrated with the way Balor had been booked on Raw. His return wasn't nearly as spectacular as fans had anticipated, and it probably has to do with Vince McMahon more than anything else. Unlike his son-in-law, Vince was said to be disappointed in Balor whom hasn't been as over as he had hoped. Since Triple H seems to support Balor nearly more than any other Superstar, then it wouldn't be a major shock to see him as a WWE Champion again. But knowing Vince, he is likely going to resist it as much as possible.

15 Vince Wants: Big E

via wwe.com

To this day, Vince McMahon being a huge fan of Big E still surprises plenty of WWE fans. And unlike most, he has been a believer in Big E prior to his New Day run. There was a rumour that Vince highly considered Big E for the push that Roman Reigns would end up receiving, which always leaves us totally confused. In a different timeline, Big E could have possibly headlined four WrestleMania shows in a row. But of course he hasn't done too bad for himself, as he has been apart of the most popular tag team in recent years and continues to dominate merchandise sales with them.

In recent weeks, there have been rumours that Vince still thinks very highly of Big E and may soon book him on a solo run. It would be interesting to see whether he can still succeed on his own. From a booking perspective, it would make sense to split up New Day as they have milked that run to its maximum. Big E has certainly earned an opportunity to succeed on an even bigger level, but only time will tell whether Vince ends up delaying his big push once again.

14 Triple H Wants: Sami Zayn

Via WWE.com

In the past, some fans believed that Sami Zayn may not be hired by the WWE since his gimmick of El Generico may not fit with their product. But everyone was glad that the company offered him a deal, as he has been one of the brightest talents on the roster since his arrival. And while Vince McMahon seems indifferent towards Zayn, it's Triple H who considers him as a potential top Superstar in the company. Not only did he play a main role in recruiting him to the WWE, but Triple H was extremely helpful during Zayn's stint in NXT.

If Triple H takes over the WWE within the next few years, then Zayn may be in for a major push.

It remains to be seen what the company has in store for him, especially now that he is finally being given a proper push on Raw. Triple H may not be able to sway McMahon's opinion about Zayn unless something drastic happens. For McMahon, it seems like he believes that Zayn is already competing at the suitable level for him. There is a good chance that he remains with the WWE for a long time without ever becoming the World Champion.

13 Vince Wants: Bobby Lashley

via wwe.com

It's no shock that Vince McMahon has always been high on Bobby Lashley. In his first run, he was immediately pushed to the top as McMahon was grooming him to become the next big star. After winning the ECW title and having a dominant run on the brand, he was supposed to earn the WWE Championship afterwards until he fell out with the company and left. Now that Lashley is finally back, it seems that McMahon is still very high on him as there have been rumours about having him face Brock Lesnar.

His second stint is off to a disappointing start, with the crowd not reacting as positively as the company had hoped. But as we have seen with Roman Reigns, that won't be enough to stop Vince from pushing his guy regardless of what fans may have to say. And while Triple H may prefer many Superstars to be crowned WWE Champions over Lashley, he also understands that Vince is always going to have it his way at the end of the day. And unless McMahon has a change of heart for whatever reason, then you can expect to see Lashley with the title within the next few years.

12 Triple H Wants: Shinsuke Nakamura

via wwe.com

A decade ago, talents like Shinsuke Nakamura may not have been signed by the WWE. With Triple H's growing influence within the company, there are some policies that have changed to stay up to date with the growing scene elsewhere. Triple H has been credited for recruiting many of WWE's top signings in the past few years, especially when it comes to veterans who are already established stars elsewhere. During some past interviews, Triple H has always full of praise for Nakamura by referring to him as one of the WWE's most talented performers, adding that he is a huge fan of his work.

Thanks to Triple H's continuous support behind the scenes, Nakamura has earned some major opportunities over the past few months and will likely continue to do so for some time. Considering that he has Triple H's support to become the next WWE Champion, it is very likely to happen soon. Fans were expecting it to happen at WrestleMania 34, but the company delayed its plans in favour of building up the feud more. During this entire process, Vince McMahon has been very hesitant about making Nakamura the WWE Champion - which is why it keeps getting delayed.

11 Vince Wants: Jinder Mahal

via wwe.com

It's been a year since Jinder Mahal shocked the world after winning the WWE Championship against Randy Orton. Since then, he went on to have a lengthy reign that failed to establish him as a main eventer, as he has returned to competing in the mid-card division. Based on reports, it appears that it was Vince McMahon's idea to attempt to surprise the fans by pushing Jinder overnight.

He went from a jobber to the WWE Champion in a span of months, which goes to show that McMahon will always do what he wants.

And when it comes to Triple H, he may not have any sour feelings towards Jinder - but like the rest of the WWE Universe, he simply doesn't see him high up the card. And despite failing to achieve what the WWE had hope for with Jinder's first reign, there is no reason to think that Vince won't pull the trigger again. After all, Jinder did shockingly win yet another huge match at WrestleMania 34 against Randy Orton, Bobby Roode and Rusev to become the WWE United States Champion. With Vince being keen to make Jinder one of the premiere heels in the company, we may see the title on him again.

10 Triple H Wants: Cesaro

via youtube.com

For the past years, fans have been speculating as to why Cesaro hasn't made it to the main event scene. And if there were any doubts, it was all confirmed during Vince McMahon's interview with Stone Cold Steve Austin, when he declared that Cesaro simply didn't have "it." He added that Cesaro would need to find whatever it is that makes him connect with the WWE Universe, as he has failed to do so on a grand scale thus far. It doesn't matter how much fans as well as Triple H would love to see Cesaro get a title opportunity, Vince has already made his mind up and likely won't change it.

He clearly views Cesaro as mid-card wrestler, which is why he has spent the past years teaming up with Sheamus - whos stock also fell in recent times. In many interviews, Triple H has praised Cesaro as one of the most talented Superstars in the WWE. And while he may have tried to sway Vince's mind, he has failed to sell Cesaro as a potential top star to the chairman. In a WWE where Triple H calls the shots, there is a good chance that Cesaro could be crowned as the next WWE Champion.

9 Vince Wants: Jeff Hardy

via wwe.com

Considering his high flying style as well as controversial past, some may assume that Vince McMahon isn't a huge fan of Jeff Hardy. But during his first main event run in 2008, he was the one who believed that Hardy could be one of the top faces of the company - and Hardy proved him to be right as he had some memorable moments while also getting the support of the fans. But since his departure from the company, there have been plenty of changes within the WWE - including Triple H's rise to power.

And while Triple H definitely respects Hardy's talent and career, he simply doesn't view him as a main event player in present day.

This is especially true when considering younger Superstars are more than ready for that spot. But since The Hardy Boyz made their return to the company at WrestleMania 33, there have been rumours that Vince wants to have Jeff embark on another solo run - which was derailed due to an injury that put him out of action for an extended period. Now that he is back and impressing again, Vince may be ready to give Jeff another chance with the title - especially with so few successful babyfaces in the company.

8 Triple H Wants: Elias

via wwe.com

Considering his NXT stint, some may think that Triple H isn't exactly a huge supporter of Elias as the latter couldn't establish himself prior to his move to the main roster. But as Triple H revealed in an interview, he has always been one of Elias' biggest supporters - believing that his character wasn't tailored for NXT as he was more than ready to bring it to the main roster. Elias exceeded all expectations by turning into one of the most relevant acts on Raw, proving Triple H to be fully right. His act has become wildly popular across the nation in every arena the WWE visits.

When it comes to Vince McMahon, he is also enjoying the character's antics at the moment although it doesn't seem like he views Elias as a potential WWE Champion. Considering how over he has been this year, as well as Triple H's minor influence, Elias could receive a huge push in the future. But as always, it comes down to Vince at the end of the day. And if history has taught us anything, it's that gimmicks similar to that of Elias never claim the gold - regardless of how over they may be with the fans.

7 Vince Wants: Big Cass

via wwe.com

It's no secret that Vince McMahon prefers his Superstars to be tall, strong and handsome. But times have significantly changed since the 80s, and WWE has adapted in many ways. But every now and then, Vince attempts to groom a new big man to become the next big thing. We have seen him hit the lotto from time to time, but those pushes have proven to be flops more often than not. Since his days as a tag team with Enzo, Vince always saw star potential in Big Cass - which is why the team was split up in the first place. Timing played a role in the split, and timing would also play a role in where we find Big Cass today.

An injury would derail the company's plans, but now that Cass is finally back to in-ring action, he has been placed into some major angles. Unlike so many NXT alumni, Big Cass doesn't seem to have a great relationship with Triple H - who may have a different opinion that Vince McMahon about Cass' position on the card. It remains to be seen whether Vince proceeds to push Big Cass to the top, especially since he has failed to truly make an impact since splitting up with Enzo.

6 Triple H Wants: Bobby Roode

via wwe.com

Not many expected Bobby Roode's WWE career to play out the way it has thus far. For the majority of his career, he had earned a reputation as one of the best heels outside of the WWE. Upon joining NXT, Roode displayed flashes of brilliance once again, and managed to quickly get over with the fans thanks to his Glorious theme song. But what fans didn't expect is for the song to become his character, turning into a face to embrace his popularity.

There have been some fans upset with his booking, believing that he is currently being wasted as a face.

Considering how Triple H booked him on NXT, it's fair to say that he probably feels the same. Based on how Vince McMahon views Roode, as well as the way he has been booked on the main roster, then it seems like he may be a mid-carder for the remainder of his career. At 41 years old, Roode isn't exactly young nor does he have many years to build himself up again. A heel turn could highly benefit his career, and even possibly take him to the next level. We have seen how brilliant he was during his prime years in TNA, and some fans remain hopeful that he will replicate those days.

5 Vince Wants: Baron Corbin

via wwe.com

When Vince McMahon happens to be high on a Superstar, he doesn't let go very easily. There are several Superstars who are much more beloved by fans, as well as many who are inarguably more talented, but Corbin is one of the few who have caught Vince's attention. Since his run on SmackDown, reports have suggested that Vince views Corbin as a potential future main eventer. At some point, his momentum was really slowed down as he faded into the background, and there were even rumours regarding possible backstage heat on Corbin.

This year has proven to be kind to Corbin thus far, who moved to Raw and has been featured regularly since then. Whether he can reach the heights Vince has set up for him is an entirely different story. When it comes to fans, opinions seem very split as some find Corbin unique while others feel as if he is just another bland big man. Triple H appears to be somewhere in the middle - he may not think the world of Corbin but he certainly believes that he has earned a spot on the main roster. The next year will be important for Corbin as it could either establish him as a potential star or he may find himself stuck in the mid-card for as long as he is around.

4 Triple H Wants: Samoa Joe

via wwe.com

Fans have wanted to see Samoa Joe in the WWE since he was competing in the X-Division along with the likes of AJ Styles and Christopher Daniels. A decade later, their wish finally came true as he signed a full-time contract with the company, and went to impress during his NXT stint. Once again, it was Triple H who helped bring him to the company, and then helped him get settled in the WWE. He was the most dominant force during his NXT stint, which should tell you just exactly how highly Triple H thinks of him.

On the other hand, it appears that Vince McMahon also respects his all-around talent, but not enough to give him the prestigious title. Joe has been competing in the main event scene since moving up to the main roster, but injuries have derailed his momentum. And while he may never win the WWE Championship, especially since he isn't getting any younger, Joe will likely have some good years with the company as long as he remains healthy. And if Triple H's influence grows within the next two years, then he could be one of the Superstars who benefit the most from his rise to power.

3 Vince Wants: Jason Jordan

via wwe.com

WWE fans may not have loved the Jason Jordan storyline, but most of them understand as to why management is high on him. Not only does he have a great look for a Superstar, but he has shown impressive ability inside the squared circle. His introduction as a solo competitor to the main roster could have certainly better smoother, but Jordan did improve significantly prior to his injury. And while Triple H did like Jordan during his time in NXT, he didn't stand out enough in his eyes to support him as much as Vince McMahon does now that he is on the main roster.

But since the boss appears to want Jordan to be a main event player, then chances are that we are going to see him in the picture.

But then again, it will depend on his re-introduction to the main roster. He won't have nearly as much time to get over this time around, and will likely have to put the performances of his life to reward the faith of McMahon. If Jordan's career plays out the way McMahon is expecting it, then you can bet that he will be adding some title reigns to his resume in the near future.

2 Triple H Wants: Rusev

via twitter.com

Over the years, Vince McMahon and Triple H have had various disagreements when it comes to booking. Their creative visions differ from time to time, as they sometimes have a certain perspective on the potential of a Superstar. For instance, they can't seem to reach an agreement regarding Rusev - as Vince always saw him as a foreign heel who attacks everyone who stands in his way. As for Triple H, he has always seen flashes of Rusev's entertaining side, believing that he could be much more than Vince wants him to be.

As it turned out, Triple H's vision has been taking place as Rusev found new popularity in the past year. And while the chants of Rusev Day may be heard often in WWE arenas, that doesn't mean that Vince is jumping at the chance of crowning him as the new champion. If Vince doesn't believe in a talent a true face of the company, then it takes a whole lot for him to change his mind. As of now, Rusev seems to be stuck under the main event scene with his ceiling being a mid-card title. But if Triple H can manage to change Vince's opinion, then we may see him reach greater heights in the upcoming years.

1 Vince Wants: Roman Reigns

via wwe.com

It doesn't matter how many twists the company may throw our way, fans realize that Roman Reigns will be a WWE Champion once again. And chances are that he is going to hold the title multiple times on top of what he has already accomplished. Despite the WWE Universe reacting negatively to Reigns in the past few years, Vince hasn't changed his mind the slightest about crowning him as the face of the company. And while there have been times where Roman may have earned some heat backstage, his position likely won't change anytime soon. Triple H doesn't seem to be nearly as high on Roman, although he does understand Vince's point of view.

There is a strong belief among fans that Reigns would have been booked better if Triple H was in control, as Vince has the tendency to be aggressive with his pushes. What makes the ongoing Roman saga even worse is the fact that his big moment continues to be delayed, which means that Reigns' dominant run that always falls just short has gotten played out by now. But it would certainly be surprising if he doesn't claim the Universal Title by SummerSlam.
