Right now WWE's roster is so deep that even with the ridiculous amount of television time that the company has to offer, there are still tons of wrestlers who fail to make it on-screen every single week.

Instead, there are tons of wrestlers who are sat in the catering, traveling the world but not actually wrestling outside of live events, which is why it is so surprising to many fans when they randomly show up on television again.

Recently WWE has brought the likes of Chad Gable, Rusev, and Luke Harper back to television in prominent roles, but there are still many who you will likely have forgotten are even employed by WWE, as you will see in this list.

10 The Ascension

Once former NXT Tag Team Champions, now a duo that can't seem to buy a minute on WWE television, with The Ascension being firmly kept in the background since making the main roster.

While there have been a few fleeting moments of success for them, the vast majority of the time has seen the formerly dominant duo testing WWE's catering for the rest of the company.

However, they are very much still under contract with the company and are used on the live event loops fairly frequently, although they really would benefit from a return to NXT.

9 The Colons

Another tag team that is somehow still under contract is The Colons, with both Epico and Primo still technically being under a deal with WWE.

Both men have been with the company for years now, so whether it is a case that they have become comfortable with their positions or they just love what they do is unknown, but both parties seem happy with the situation.

WWE doesn't want to release the talent right now, even though there is absolutely no stock in The Colons, and they don't seem to be kicking up a fuss, so everything stays the same.

8 Eric Young

Out of everybody in SAnitY, Eric Young is not the person that people expected to fail when the group was split as he had the most experience and exposure from his run with TNA where he was actually a World Champion.

However, that has been the case, with Young being the only male member of the group to stick on the main roster, and he hasn't managed to make things work, not even getting in on the 24/7 Championship action anymore.

It seems like Young is now set to just work out the rest of his contract until his time is up with WWE, earning a nice living to travel the world without taking any of the bumps.

7 Alicia Fox

After numerous negative backstage reports about her, it seemed like Alicia Fox's WWE career was over, however, she was then brought back to the company for the Raw Legends episode randomly, and promoted as a legend.

Then, Foxy went back into hibernation. Fans were left confused and unclear about whether or not she was still working for the company, however recent reports have actually stated she is still under a contract and in a rather interesting position.

It may not be what you think, but Fox is currently working backstage as part of the creative team on SmackDown Live alongside Eric Bischoff as they create weekly content for the blue brand.

6 Ronda Rousey

While Ronda Rousey has never officially retired from professional wrestling, she has stated that she's taking significant time away from the company in order to focus on starting a family.

Obviously, this is something that will keep her out of the ring for a significant amount of time, with pregnancy lasting nine months and then the added time she would want to spend with her child, it seems unlikely she will be back anytime soon.

However, the former Raw Women's Champion is still under contract with WWE for at least another year, as she initially signed a multi-year deal with the company, having only wrestled for one-year of that.

5 Kurt Angle

The WWE Hall Of Famer may have retired from in-ring competition following his WrestleMania 35 loss to Baron Corbin, but that doesn't mean that his contract with WWE has come to an end.

In fact, Kurt Angle recently signed an incredible new five-year deal with the company that will keep him with WWE until at least 2023, where he is working behind the scenes to help put together matches with talent.

Having someone as talented both in-ring and in-terms of character work to help younger wrestlers is an incredible move by WWE, as he will certainly be able to lend plenty of knowledge.

4 Jason Jordan

Remember when Jason Jordan was involved in WWE's biggest storyline as Kurt Angle's illegitimate son? The former American Alpha star seemed destined to become a major star in the company until a serious neck injury put him on the shelf.

While it was reported to be a serious situation, it was expected that Jordan would return to action at some point, yet here we are over a year-and-a-half later and Jordan still has not wrestled again.

Despite that, WWE has kept him under contract with the company, and Jordan has actually transitioned into a new role as a backstage agent where he helps put matches together with the current roster.

3 Sheamus

Speaking of neck injuries, another WWE Superstar who has suffered from this problem has been Sheamus, with the former Tag Team Champion being out of action since WrestleMania 35.

It was unclear whether or not the Celtic Warrior would be able to wrestle again, in a similar situation to Jason Jordan, however, the good news is that it has been reported Sheamus is now cleared for in-ring action.

With the draft now coming up around the corner, there is a good chance that Sheamus could be set to make his return to WWE in the coming months in time for the build to WrestleMania 36.

2 The Bella Twins

Both Nikki and Brie Bella have now retired from in-ring competition, with Nikki being forced to retire due to serious injuries, and Brie calling it quits to focus on their other brands and her family.

The Bella Twins had legendary careers with WWE and are guaranteed future Hall Of Fame talents, but because they have retired, many people don't think that they are still under contract with the company.

However, both of the Bellas are still under a WWE contract, with the two women in legends deals, which is why they will continue to make some form of appearances for the next few years.

1 Jinder Mahal

Had you forgotten about him? Despite the fact you haven't seen him in a while, Jinder Mahal is very much still under contract with the company who made him WWE Champion, with Mahal currently out injured.

It is unknown when Mahal is exactly expected to return to in-ring action, or if he will be positioned in a main event slot again. However, he will certainly be back, at least fit to compete, at some stage this year.

Many fans likely hoped that Mahal's time with WWE had finished after most people hated his WWE Championship reign, but there can be no denying he has worked to improve and hopefully, he will continue to do so when he gets back.
