WWE currently has over 200 superstars contracted to the company, and because of the vast demand for a more exciting product, they've been compelled to sign many superstars in the past few years to always try and keep their product fresh. While some of the multi-talented superstars have done phenomenally well to retain the audiences' attention in WWE programming, there are some who have displeased the fans with their underwhelming performances, being labelled as boring because of their lack of ability to excite the fans.

These underwhelming superstars have been given many chances to shine by the company, but their lack of development and ability to click with the audience is the main reason why they've not been able to climb the top of the WWE ladder. But with all the competition mounting in the company, it's high time these superstars are released, as they just haven't been able to get over despite being given multiple opportunities to succeed in WWE. On the other hand, there are some popular WWE stars who left the company way too soon and left the fans begging for more. These superstars had a lot left in the tank to become bigger WWE superstars, but never got the chance they deserved to shine through in the company.

Some of these superstars proved why WWE was wrong to release them with some amazing work in the Independent circuit, further improving their popularity among fans. So let's take a look at 12 WWE Superstars we want gone before WrestleMania 35 and 9 we want back to WWE.

21 Want Gone: Dana Brooke

via wwe.com

Dana Brooke has just not been able to impose herself on the main roster ever since her debut a few years ago; her poor in-ring performances have forced WWE to make her a manager for Titus Worldwide. While Brooke is appearing frequently as a manager to Titus O'Neil and Apollo Crews, she is kind of a liability for the Monday Night Raw roster right now.

Brooke hasn't been able to prove herself as a wrestler and is a sub-par entertainer who doesn't deserve to feature so frequently on WWE programming. Brooke needs to be let go by WWE, with her underwhelming stint on the main roster proving how she's just not cut out for this business.

20 Want Gone: Sin Cara

via wwe.com

The hype for Sin Cara has just worn off among the WWE fans over the years and despite putting up a series of impressive matches against Andrade "Cien" Almas recently on Smackdown Live, the masked sensation just isn't relevant anymore. It's because of some questionable booking that Sin Cara's popularity has declined in WWE and he appears on WWE programming once in a blue moon to put someone over.

It's high time his place is given to someone more worthy, as Sin Cara just hasn't been able to get over with the fans. WWE needs to release him soon and put an end to the Sin Cara character, which never really got over despite the mystique and impressive wrestling skill-set.

19 Want Back: Cody Rhodes

via pinterest.com

Cody Rhodes has been proving how WWE was horribly wrong about him ever since leaving them, as he's attained humongous success in the Independent scene as well as in New Japan Pro Wrestling and Ring of Honor.

Cody has also helped sell out Madison Square Garden with the "All In" show and proved himself to not only be an amazing wrestler but a great booker too.

The fans have been pleading him to come back to WWE for sometime now, as WWE should realize his worth and bring him back as a main-eventer. Cody deserves to be a top guy in WWE and knowing how great a heel he can be, he'll definitely add a new dimension to their programming if brought back soon.

18 Want Gone: Mojo Rawley

via gramunion.com

Mojo Rawley might've toughened up with this new attitude, but he's still a very underwhelming worker who is being pushed due to his NFL background. Rawley doesn't really have that much of a prominent gimmick and hasn't been able to be the heel he tries to be either.

He's also pretty poor in the ring and really turns off much of the fans whenever he comes out for a match.

The fans have grown awfully tired of watching Rawley on Raw and his inability to improve hasn't helped his case either. Rawley has not been able to get over despite receiving a strong push in the past and should be released as he's just not cut out for the WWE.

17 Want Back: Carlito

via klaq.com

Carlito was quite the "cool" character in WWE years ago when he impressed fans with his cocky heel attitude and won many championships as a prominent mid-carder. But he was released too early because of unfortunate circumstances and it seems like WWE has been regretting that mistake ever since. Carlito has been doing really well in Puerto Rico's World Wrestling Council in recent years and won their World Title multiple times as well.

He's the face of that promotion and even attained some mainstream popularity by appearing on Netflix's hit show Glow recently.

With WWE programming lacking a cool heel like Carlito, the company needs to bring him back before WrestleMania as he can add something refreshing to their product.

16 Want Gone: Zack Ryder

via wwe.com

Zack Ryder's popularity has seemingly dwindled in recent years, as he didn't help his case by teaming with Mojo Rawley on NXT and on the main roster. His feud with Rawley was also underwhelming and it seems like Ryder just doesn't care enough to improve his character in WWE anymore.

He seems to be well past his best and is slowly becoming a superstar nobody cares about because of how rarely he appears on WWE programming. Ryder should be released by WWE as he's adding nothing new to the product.

15 Want Back: Batista

via bloodyelbow.com

Batista has been flying high in Hollywood ever since leaving the WWE and with his success as a Marvel superhero, he doesn't really need WWE or any other wrestling promotions to lead a successful career. Despite being such a big star in Hollywood, Batista has voiced his desire to have one last run with WWE before hanging up his boots for good. Batista wants to return before WrestleMania 35 and preferably have a last feud with Triple H. WWE should really look into this and bring Batista back before the grandest stage of them all, as his presence is assured to sell many tickets and fans will be thrilled to watch The Animal wrestle it out one last time against Triple H at WrestleMania.

14 Want Gone: Alicia Fox

via wwe.com

Alicia Fox might've recently attained a more prominent role on Monday Night Raw, but she's still not that convincing ever since the "Women's Revolution" came in effect in WWE programming. Fox might be playing her crazy character very compellingly, but she doesn't seem to suit this new era of Women's Wrestling in WWE that well. She still brings a lot of "Divas" vibes with her character and isn't that compelling in the ring at all. Fox hasn't really managed to get over with the fans either and should be replaced with a better wrestler on Raw. Fox has managed to be in WWE for over a decade, but it's high time she is released as she's got nothing more to give to WWE programming.

13 Want Back: John Morrison

via twitter.com

John Morison was quite the stunning wrestler in WWE a few years ago, when he dazzled many with his charisma and in-ring ability to produce highly entertaining matches. Ever since leaving the company, Morrison has gone onto soar elsewhere and has succeeded in many other promotions. He had a terrific time at Lucha Underground and was a hit in Mexican wrestling for years. Morrison has been performing for Impact Wrestling recently but has been on WWE's radar for quite some-time. It's high time WWE brings him back and gives him the push he deserved years ago as the Shaman of Sexy has improved his physique and in-ring prowess which makes him an exciting main-event candidate for WWE.

12 Want Gone: Brock Lesnar

Brock Lesnar might have finally lost the Universal Championship to Roman Reigns at SummerSlam, but that doesn't mean that he's permanently gone from WWE. As rumored, Brock is still interested in working for both UFC and WWE and while he might not appear for quite a while now, he might be approached to work the big events like Royal Rumble or WrestleMania 35. At this point in time, the fans are just tired of seeing Brock act like a part-timer and appear on television once in every few months. Most of WWE fans are quite annoyed that he's using his star-power to get his way and want him to be permanently gone from WWE after his embarrassing loss to Reigns.

11 Want Back: Melina

via twitter.com

Melina was quite the stunning female superstar in WWE many years ago, when she gained prominence as part of the MNM tag team. While she gained popularity because of her managerial antics, Melina quickly got over enough with the fans to earn a push as a singles star. She would go onto win the Women's Championship three times and dominate the Women's Division for many years. Melina was released because of her poor attitude, but with the Women's Revolution gaining pace, WWE could do with someone as talented as her. Melina was definitely a great in-ring worker and can do wonders in WWE programming right now, which is why many want her to be brought back to Raw or Smackdown Live.

10 Want Gone: R-Truth

via wwe.com

R-Truth has been a really devoted employee for WWE over the past few years and despite not getting the recognition he deserves, he's always done what's best for business and helped put over young stars. But it seems like age is getting to Truth, who despite being extremely entertaining these days is just wasting a valuable spot on Smackdown Live! While R-Truth might be a beloved figure among fans because of his attitude, he needs to slowly move away from wrestling because of his age. He can't wrestle that frequently anymore and isn't that impressive in the ring either. Truth needs to be released by WWE sooner rather than later as he's way past his best and isn't valuable to WWE programming anymore.

9 Want Back: Chris Jericho

Chris Jericho seems to be enjoying life outside WWE as he's been amazing in New Japan Pro Wrestling, where he recently won the IWGP Intercontinental Championship. While he's not a regular in Japan, he's having some "dream matches" there and is not expected to return to WWE anytime soon. But Jericho's excellent work elsewhere has proved costly for WWE, who are really missing the Ayatollah of Rock n Rolla in their programming. Jericho's presence is really being missed in WWE and the company really needs to bring him back in time for WrestleMania 35. Jericho's excellent work at New Japan is proof of the amazing work he's still capable of and why WWE needs the Gift of Jericho to spark up their programming once again.

8 Want Gone: Rhyno

via pinterest.com

Rhyno has turned into a bit of a mockery of himself in his recent stint with WWE, where he's no longer that dangerous man-beast everyone feared in ECW. He's now become a kind of a jobber to the stars, who helps to put over other superstars in the tag team division. Rhyno isn't the hard-hitting force he once was and is ridiculously being only used in squash matches recently. He often gets put into matches on RAW in which he doesn't deserve to be in and the comic angles with him are further hampering his reputation. It's high time WWE lets go of Rhyno and replaces him with some other blooming talent, as the once-dangerous man-beast doesn't seem like a threat anymore.

7 Want Back: Rey Mysterio

Rey Mysterio rolled back the years with some amazing performances at the Royal Rumble and Greatest Royal Rumble events earlier this year, where he thrilled fans with his high-flying moves. Despite his age, Mysterio is still going strong and has the ability to put some great matches in WWE. While his Royal Rumble appearances were one-offs, WWE should bring him back full time as fans are dying to see more of him after his thrilling showcases in the matches earlier this year. Mysterio is reported to be in negotiations with WWE over a full-time contract, which will see him perform on Smackdown Live! and he could soon come back permanently to bring to life some fantasy matches in WWE.

6 Want Gone: Mike Kanellis

via pwmania.com

Mike Kanellis came into WWE with a lot of promise, as it looked like he'll benefit from his wife Maria's popularity and go onto succeed in the company. But things went south for Mike very soon after he joined Smackdown Live! and after an initial underwhelming feud against Sami Zayn, he soon fell down the ranks. With Maria being out of action for a long time and Mike also dealing with personal issues, he never got the chance to get over and by the time he was back, Mike became irrelevant in WWE programming. Mike has been extremely underwhelming in WWE and it doesn't seem like he's going over anytime soon, which is why he should just be released by WWE.

5 Want Back: Juice Robinson

via sportingnews.com

Juice Robinson might be more fondly recognized as "CJ Parker" among WWE fans and despite having a rather forgettable NXT career, he's gone onto soar at New Japan Pro Wrestling. Robison has shown encouraging signs of improvement at New Japan and recently even won the IWGP United States Championship in stunning fashion. It seems like Triple H made a major mistake in not believing in Juice's potential and letting him go way too early. WWE has been interested in Robinson ever since he's started to impress at New Japan and Triple H will aim to bring him back to NXT. Robinson could go onto become a valuable mid-carder in WWE as his charisma and wrestling-skills are perfect for WWE's product.

4 Want Gone: The Colons

via wwe.com

Primo and Epico Colon have gone completely off the radar in WWE programming and despite being repackaged multiple times in recent years, they've still not been able to get over with fans. They were last known as "The Colons", who wrestled a few matches on Smackdown Live before vanishing from the scene. It was rumored that one of them might've gotten injured, which is the reason for their long absence. The Colons are just a waste of a spot in the highly competitive Smackdown Live tag team scene and despite their talent, it's high time they're let go off. The Colons reportedly asked for their release from WWE, which should be duly granted and their spots are given to a more worthy team.

3 Want Gone: Raul Mendoza

via wwe.com

Raul Mendoza seemed like an impressive talent when he appeared in the WWE Cruiserweight Classic tournament two years ago, but he hasn't been able to move forward after that. Mendoza has been used as an enhancement talent at WWE NXT ever since and has put over some of the rising stars on NXT TV. Despite training in the WWE Performance Center for years, Mendoza hasn't really shown much improvement nor been able to develop an intriguing gimmick. He doesn't seem to be ready for WWE's spotlight yet and needs more experience in the Independent scene before making it big in WWE. Mendoza needs to be released soon as he's just wasting a spot in NXT which could be occupied by someone more talented.

2 Want Back: Zack Sabre Jr.

via Wikipedia.org

Zack Sabre Jr has become a very popular wrestler ever since impressing fans in the Cruiserweight Classic tournament, after which he opted not to sign with the company. He went onto succeed in New Japan Pro wrestling and other Independent promotions, earning the reputation of being among the best "technical wrestlers" in the world. Sabre's submission skills in the mat are unmatched and he could currently thrive under Triple H's 205 Live show. The Cruiserweight division nowadays is seeing much better, technical matches and the fans would love Sabre Jr in the show. Not only would bringing back Sabre help improve 205 Live's ratings, but the addition of this amazing wrestler would help take the show to a whole new level.
