Hall of Famer Scott Hall is widely regarded as the greatest superstar that never won the WWE Championship. And at this current rate, a large number of main event talents in the WWE will join Hall in that undesirable club.

Some of the most decorated and admired superstars in WWE haven't gotten their special run with the WWE or Universal Championship. On the flip side, some superstars were given title reigns when they simply weren't ready for it.

Here is a look at the top five WWE superstars that have yet to win one of the two major titles, and five who somehow won it when it wasn't their time.

10 10. Hasn't Won: Baron Corbin

Baron Corbin's main event push has been rumored for quite some time now, but WWE continues to hold him back. His 2017 Money in the Bank cash-in was a complete waste, as WWE Champion Jinder Mahal evaded trouble and pinned Corbin for a surprise victory.

Corbin was unsuccessful in his efforts to defeat Universal Champion Seth Rollins at the Stomping Ground and Extreme Rules pay-per-view. He just won the King of the Ring tournament, however, so perhaps Corbin's reign with a WWE or Universal title is just around the corner.

9 9. Worst To Win: Goldberg

via wwe.com

This isn't to criticize the career of Goldberg, the 2018 Hall of Fame inductee. But it was simply a giant mistake for WWE to put the Universal Championship around his waist when he defeated Kevin Owens at Fastlane 2017.

Owens' main event push was killed after he was squashed by Goldberg. Not only that, but we were treated to a lackluster Goldberg vs. Lesnar title match at WrestleMania 33, which the latter won with relative ease. That put Lesnar on the path to a record-breaking title reign that the majority of the WWE Universe strongly opposed.

A part-time performer should never hold a major championship. Goldberg had only returned to WWE three months ago, so giving him the title made no sense whatsoever.

8 8. Hasn't Won: Braun Strowman

via wwe.com

WWE has teased a major main event push for Braun Strowman over the past couple of years, but nothing has come out of it yet. Brock Lesnar spoiled his Money in the Bank cash-in last year, just when it looked like The Monster Among Men was about to get his big break.

Strowman has lost Universal Championship matches to both Lesnar and Seth Rollins. Now, Bray Wyatt is in the Universal title picture with Rollins. Unless Strowman moves over to SmackDown in a short time, it doesn't seem like he'll get his hands on a major title any time soon.

7 7. Worst To Win: Bray Wyatt

via wrestling-edge.com

There's no doubt that "The Fiend" version of Bray Wyatt is ready to be part of the main event picture. But Wyatt simply was pushed far too early back in 2017, when he won the Elimination Chamber match to become the new WWE Champion.

Wyatt's title reign didn't last long, and recruiting Randy Orton to join the family didn't help matters. The Legend Killer defeated Wyatt at WrestleMania 33 to win the WWE Championship, thus putting a merciless end to the former's lackluster reign. Hopefully, Wyatt's next run with a major title will be much better.

6 6. Hasn't Won: Samoa Joe

via wwe.com

Expectations were high for Samoa Joe when he joined the WWE main roster in 2017, but the company has underused him far too often here. Joe has all the makings to be a main event superstar, with world-class in-ring skills and immense popularity among the fans.

Joe had several cracks at the Universal Championship in 2017, but he was unsuccessful in taking down Lesnar. Joe also fell to AJ Styles in a handful of WWE Championship matches last year, and he was unable to take down Kofi Kingston at this year's Extreme Rules pay-per-view.

At this point, it's safe to think that WWE will never give Samoa Joe the WWE or Universal title reign he deserves. It's disappointing, but there's just no reason to think that Vince McMahon is going to change his mind any time soon.

5 5. Worst To Win: Dolph Ziggler

via WWE

It's easy to argue that Dolph Ziggler is among the most mismanaged and underused superstars in the history of WWE. Indeed, we'll always feel like the company could have done more with this elite talent.

But it doesn't mean that Ziggler was worthy of holding the World Heavyweight Championship in 2011. His character was still developing at the time, and WWE only gave him the title for a day before he lost it to Edge in Feb. 2011.

Had WWE waited a while longer to put the belt on him, and had Ziggler's reign lasted longer than a day, then he wouldn't be on this list.

4 4. Hasn't Won: Drew McIntyre

via wrestlingnews.co

McIntyre has been a top-tier villain throughout his two tenures in WWE. Things were looking promising for him in NXT, where McIntyre won the brand's championship. But we're a year and a half into McIntyre's second go-around on the main WWE roster, and he still hasn't received a look in the main event picture.

In fact, McIntyre has yet to receive a shot at both the WWE and Universal Championships. A major push has been teased numerous times, especially ever since he aligned himself with Shane McMahon. But we're still waiting for McIntyre's first run with one of the two premier titles. It's only a matter of time.

3 3. Worst To Win: Sheamus

No doubt that Sheamus has been a strong mid-card performer throughout his career. But even though he's a three-time WWE Champion as well as a former World Heavyweight Champion, The Celtic Warrior just never seemed like the right main event champion.

In fact, Sheamus recently admitted that he received locker room heat after winning his first WWE Championship in 2009. It was a classic case of too much, too soon. Sheamus has always flourished more in the mid-card, especially as a Tag Team Champion with Cesaro.

2 2. Hasn't Won: Shinsuke Nakamura

via wwe.com

When Nakamura joined the main WWE roster in 2017, we all felt as though he was going to receive a big-time main event push. With incredible in-ring moves and strong popularity, Nakamura had all the tools to be the next big thing in WWE.

Instead, the company wasted his whole 2018 Royal Rumble victory, and they made a giant mistake in turning him heel following his WrestleMania 34 loss to AJ Styles. Nakamura was unsuccessful in gaining the WWE Championship from him, and he has embarked on United States and Intercontinental title reign instead.

Here's hoping WWE will give Nakamura that special push once and for all at some point. He was more than deserving of it, and it'd be shameful of WWE to waste his talents here.

1 1.Worst To Win: Jinder Mahal

Via: wwe.com

Jinder Mahal defeated Randy Orton at the 2017 Backlash pay-per-view to become the new WWE Champion. Prior to his monumental victory, Mahal was used strictly as a mid-card heel, but he wasn't fully established at the time.

WWE simply rushed Mahal's push and hoped he would be able to get over. But with a limited skill set in the ring, fans weren't buying it. Mahal would drop his WWE title to AJ Styles on the Nov. 7 episode of SmackDown, and that was it for his main event run. WWE simply decided in a short time that he wasn't suited for it after all.
