If I were to make a list of the people associated with the WWE who I would not want to tick off, Triple H would be close to the top of that list. But after spending almost three decades as a WWE superstar and high level executive, Triple H has made a lot of friends, and a lot of enemies. As such, this article will list the 8 Superstars That Triple H Is Friends With (And 7 That He Cannot Stand). Triple H is not always the nicest guy in the world so there are some superstars on this list that he is responsible for causing friction with.

There are others, however, who have brought Triple H's wrath down upon themselves. Given the fact that Triple H is now the second in command with WWE (not to mention one of the most intimidating superstars of all time) he is not someone whose feathers I would want to ruffle. But with the litany of enemies that the Cerebral Assassin has made over the years, he has also made several close friends. Hopefully this list will illustrate the many sides of Triple H. If you can think of any superstars that Triple H is friends with (or that he hates) feel free to mention them in the comments.

15 Friends With - Finn Balor

For much of Triple H's career, his reputation, both with the fans and in the WWE locker room, was of a selfish performer who cared more about his own accolades than getting over other superstars. People have cited Triple H's rivalries with men like Goldberg and Booker T as evidence that he is willing to "bury" other superstars. Because of this reputation it is fascinating to me how good of a mentor Triple H has become for the NXT superstars. Superstars like Seth Rollins, Kevin Owens, and even Asuka have cited Triple H as one of the people that helped them get their persona ready for the main roster.

But Triple H has not taken another superstar under his wing like he has Finn Balor.

Before coming to WWE, Finn wrestled all over the world, but after he came to WWE, he and Triple H worked closely together to create both the Balor Club and Demon King characters. When Finn had to get surgery after his match at SummerSlam with Seth Rollins, Triple H was one of the first people to call and make sure that he was okay.

14 Cannot Stand - Chris Jericho

via pinterest.com

It honestly does not surprise me one bit that Triple H and Chris Jericho do not like each other. Both men are known to be hotheads and both have gotten in several confrontations with other superstars during their careers. The source of their direct troubles is apparently an incident where Jericho called out Triple H for how he treats the other superstars. Y2J accused Triple H and his friends of bringing an aggressive mentality to the WWE locker that Jericho did not think was conducive to putting on a good show.

Jericho has never been one to keep his mouth shut when he feels something is wrong and he and Triple H reportedly had several heated confrontations backstage.

Both men are still a part of the WWE but they still do not have the best relationship. Overall, they manage to avoid each other and keep a professional demeanor when they are forced to interact. There also was reportedly some friction when Triple H and Jericho used to wrestle one another. The bad blood between these two superstars easily makes Chris Jericho one of the superstars that Triple H hates.

13 Friends With - The Undertaker

via wwe.com

Triple H is one of the most accomplished superstars in the history of the WWE. He is a 14x World Heavyweight Champion, a 2X Royal Rumble winner, and he has been hugely influential in making Monday Night Raw the product that it is today. As such, there is pretty much no other wrestler that he looks up to. But there are some notable exceptions. One such exception is our next entry, The Phenom, The Undertaker.

The Undertaker began his career with the WWE just a few years before Triple H himself, and there is not a lot of evidence that the two really knew each other for most of their careers.

The Undertaker, however, might be the most respected superstar in the history of professional wrestling and on multiple occasions Triple H has expressed his admiration for the dead man. And this is not the kind of lip service compliment that Triple H gives to men like Brock Lesnar and The Rock, he genuinely believes that The Undertaker represents everything good about professional wrestling. The two have actually faced each other three separate times at WrestleMania, but in the last two meetings you can really see the respect that these two have for each other. Undertaker seems to have recommitted himself to wrestling so perhaps we will see a fourth and final meeting between these two sometime soon.

12 Cannot Stand - Goldberg

via wwe.com

Going back to the early 2000s, there was the rumor that Triple H and Goldberg did not like each other. Goldberg exploded in the WWE after WCW went out of business and fans believed that it was only a matter of time before "the myth" would capture the World Heavyweight Championship. The problem? That championship was around the waist of non-other than Triple H. When Triple H became injured it was expected that he would drop the title to Goldberg in the elimination chamber match. Instead, Triple H locked himself in the pod for most of his match and pedigreed Goldberg after he had taken out all the other competitors.

There were reports that Triple H convinced WWE management to keep the belt on him because he did not like Goldberg's work ethic.

Bill famously only sticks around for his segments, something that did not sit too well with a guy like Triple H. Even when Goldberg made his return to WWE this past year he was kept as far as possible from the Cerebral Assassin. Do not expect to see these two legends squaring off in the WWE any time soon.

11 Friends With - Randy Orton

via wwe.com

I have actually read conflicting reports about the relationship between these two men, but both of the have claimed several times that they have a close friendship so I am just going to take their word on it. If I had to guess I would assume that they actually are close friends but the hot-headed nature of both of these men caused them to have minor scuffles from time to time. Randy Orton actually owes a lot of his success to Triple H. He and Dave Batista made their debut for the WWE working under the tutelage of Triple H and Ric Flair as part of the group Evolution. This allowed the young superstars to gain experience in the WWE without having to carry a match or do a solo promo.

When it became apparent that Orton was ready for a singles run, Triple H (kayfabe) turned on him and the two would go on to have a heated rivalry. The pair have met several times since then and you can see their comfort level with one another transmitted through their wrestling. Triple H has not given any indication that he plans on giving up in-ring wrestling any time soon, but if he ever does have a retirement match (a la Ric Flair) I would be shocked if Randy Orton is not the guy chosen to finally take him down. How many RKOs does it take to topple the reign of a King of Kings?

10 Cannot Stand - Melina

via wwe.com

Triple H has had a very confusing history with the women of WWE. Many female wrestlers from his performing days have heavily criticized Triple H for his cocky and misogynistic attitude. But recently, the women of NXT have lauded Triple H for his influence in improving their wrestling and he has even taken on a mentorship role with superstars like Sasha Banks and Asuka. A female superstar of the not-so-distant past, however, has had several inflammatory things to say about the COO.

Former Divas Champion Melina once tweeted that seeing Triple H in public made her want to puke.

She did not really explain this but these are strong feelings to have about someone that used to be your boss. To be fair, since she has left WWE Melina has trashed just about everything there is to do with the company, so who knows if this really has anything to do with Triple H. Still, I can't imagine that Triple H appreciated these kinds of things being said about him, especially in such a public setting. This could be interesting if Melina is every invited back to the WWE.

9 Friends With - John Cena

via wwe.com

It is probably unfair to categorize Triple H and John Cena as friends, but the two have enjoyed a professional relationship that has kept them closely tied for over a decade. The two first worked together during the buildup to WrestleMania 22 and the veteran Triple H was impressed by Cena's mic skills and his dedication to the business.

I think that Triple H's affinity for John Cena boils down to the fact that they are both company guys.

Triple H is very proud of the fact that he never defected to WCW during the Attitude Era and John Cena has similarly remained with the WWE for over 15 years despite being a pop culture superstar. I wonder if Cena's recent decision to (partially) abandon the WWE for Hollywood has soured this relationship at all. The two recently reunited for a legend vs legend match at the Greatest Royal Rumble house show in Saudi Arabia. Triple H has stated in past interviews that he loves being the villain to Cena's hero so do not be surprised if we see one more big match between these two before either of them officially hangs up their boots.

8 Cannot Stand - CM Punk

via wwe.com

Triple H can vehemently deny his hatred for CM Punk all he wants but his obvious disdain for the "best in the world" is written on his face every time that he is asked about Punk. And really, who can blame him. Some of the things that Punk said about the McMahon family, and even Triple H himself, were absolutely vicious. Triple H can try to distance himself from the passions of the other wrestlers all he wants but Stephanie McMahon is still his wife and Vince McMahon is still the grandfather of his children. If I were Triple H, I would not exactly have warm fuzzy feelings about the straight edge superstar.

Triple H, and really the entire McMahon family, have tried to keep up a professional image in regards to Punk, but I'm sure they do not appreciate how his comments went over with the WWE Universe.

With that being said, if Bret Hart was able to come back into the fold of the WWE after literally spitting in Vince McMahon's face, there is hope for any estranged wrestler. I would not at all be surprised to see CM Punk resign with the WWE sometime in the distant future.

7 Friends With - Shawn Michaels

via Twitter.com

There might not be a closer friendship in the history of the WWE than the friendship between Triple H and Shawn Michaels. Most WWE fans will remember them as the principal members of the group Degeneration X, but this pairs friendship extended decades before and after the heyday of DX. Triple H has several other close friends in the WWE but none of the others have gone through the highs and lows that he and Shawn Michaels have both on screen and off. Shortly after they were finally getting credit for revolutionizing professional wrestling with DX, Michaels had to leave the WWE because of injuries and habitual substance abuse.

Instead of abandoning his friend, Triple H helped him through this hard time and when HBK returned to the WWE.

The two even had one of the greatest matches in WWE history together when Michaels and Chris Benoit challenged for Triple H's World Heavyweight Championship in a triple threat match at WrestleMania XX. Could you imagine being one of Triple H and Stephanie's children and having an Uncle Shawn Michaels. It is surprising to me that Triple H has not convinced Michaels to take on a more important role backstage with WWE.

6 Cannot Stand - Rob Van Dam

via pinterest.com

One recurring theme that I have found throughout this list is that Triple H is kind of a hard person to deal with. Despite the fact that most of his close friends (and probably him too) were infamous for being heavy partiers, Triple H has taken a no tolerance stance on younger wrestlers. This has famously led him to have confrontations with Jinder Mahal and Jeff Hardy. His animosity does not end with these two men however, it has long been rumored that Triple H was once of the principles reasons why Rob Van Dam was treated so unfairly by the WWE. Coming from ECW, RVD had an unconventional style that the WWE Universe instantly fell in love with.

Despite his popularity, RVD was kept in the mid-card until he was finally booked to defeat John Cena for the WWE Championship at ECW's reinvigorated One Night Stand pay-per-view. Soon after he got this push, Triple H's main concerns were realized and RVD failed a drug test. He was then forced to lose both the WWE and ECW Championships and he was let go from the company shortly after. It has been reported that there is still quite a bit of bad blood between RVD and Triple H.

5 Friends With - Ric Flair

Elsewhere on this list we will talk about how Triple H has mentored several young superstars as part of his duties with NXT, but we should not forget that Triple H himself had some mentors when he first got introduced to professional wrestling. One of his most important mentors is the next entry on our list.

Over the decades, Triple H has developed an incredibly close bond with the 16x World Champion, Ric Flair.

Many people remember that Triple H and Flair were the principle leaders of the group Evolution (where they actually tutored a young Randy Orton and Dave Batista) but Flair's mentorship of Triple H actually began much earlier than that. Triple H has called Flair the best all-around performer in the history of professional wrestling and he credits the Nature Boy with helping him turn into a WWE superstar who could perform both inside and outside of the ring. It has always kind of surprised me that Shawn Michaels was chosen to be the man to "retire" Ric Flair, but Triple H did get to be the superstar to start Flair's retirement party the following night. You could certainly have a worse tutor than the man with the most World Championship reigns in wrestling history.

4 Cannot Stand - Bret Hart

Many of the entries on this list involve superstars that do not get along with Triple H for legitimate reasons. He does not seem like he is the easiest guy to get along with and he has pushed a lot of buttons over his WWE career. Our next entry, however, has less to do with Triple H's character flaws and more to do with the fact that Bret Hart has become a full blown a hole in his old age.

Hart loves to take shots at current wrestlers, and even the King of Kings has not escaped his ire.

Bret Hart was quoted saying" I don't care how many championships Triple H wins, he couldn't lace my f'n boots." Well, okay then Bret. Even more embarrassing is the fact that this whole thing stemmed from the fact that Hart was upset that Triple H had a higher rating than him in WWE 2k16. I would not have guessed that Bret would even know what a video game was, much less that he would be so worried about how he was portrayed in them. There are also some rumors that Triple H played a part in the infamous Montreal Screwjob.

3 Friends With - The Kliq

Honestly this entire side of the article could be filled with members of The Kliq but in the interest of diversity I have condensed them down into a single entry. Although other people have been temporarily included in The Kliq, its primary members are Triple H, Shawn Michaels, X-Pac, Kevin Nash, and Scott Hall. For five men who started out as nobodies in professional wrestling, collectively The Kliq is very accomplished.

Michaels, Triple H, and Nash have all been world champions and Scott Hall (and even X-Pac) have been memorable performers. It is amazing that these guys have managed to stay friends for so many years, especially given the stress that pro wrestling puts on relationships. It is hard enough to keep in touch with your adult friends even if all of you aren't on the roads 5 nights a week doing house shows. These guys even managed to stay friends when Hall and Nash were the leading figures on WCW and Triple H and Michaels were holding down the fort with WWE. I imagine that it is quite a resource for Triple H to be able to call up these wrestling legends at any time to talk over any issues that he is having with them.

2 Cannot Stand - The Miz

via bleacherreport.com

One superstar that Triple H has treated poorly that most fans probably will not know about is The Miz. When he first came to the WWE, Miz was treated poorly by almost the entire men's locker room. He, of course, first became famous on the Real World and other superstars were jealous that he was given a contract without having to toil away with lesser organizations like many of them had. To make matters worse, in his first year Miz got caught eating fried chicken over the bag of another wrestler.

This made a lot of people mad and The Undertaker and Chris Benoit actually banned him from getting changed in the locker room. Triple H jumped on this bandwagon and was very rude to The Miz for his first few years in the company. Triple H has always viewed himself as a leader in the locker room so I am sure that he took it as a personal affront to him that someone like The Miz was allowed to wrestle. I wonder if any of these wrestlers regret how they treated The Miz as he has gone on to become one of the most entertaining superstars in WWE's recent history.

1 Friends With - Vince McMahon

There might not be a more influential person in the WWE right now than the COO Triple. After he married Stephanie McMahon it would have easy for Triple H to rest on his laurels and continue being a WWE superstar or even retire to a beach in the Caribbean. Instead, he began working backstage and has quietly moved up the WWE corporate ladder. As of right now he is in charge of two separate WWE shows and is clearly Vince's right-hand man in the WWE. NXT, the show that he built up from the ground is constantly groundbreaking and for a time was even superior to both Smackdown and Raw. It is unclear what direction he will take 205 Live but having Triple H in their corner should give some hope to the Cruiserweight Division.

A great deal of Triple H's upward mobility comes from his own abilities but do not discredit his relationship with Vince McMahon.

Vince has always liked Triple H but since they have become father and son-in-law they have become incredibly close. I am sure that Vince likes having someone in the family who shares his absolute love for the business (sorry Shane) and Triple H has consistently shown that he has a natural aptitude for the business.
