With 2018 coming to an end, there were some memorable champions in the WWE throughout the year. Some were unforgettable, such as Brock Lesnar's long reign as the Universal Champion -- despite barely ever showing up to wrestle. There was the sad moment where Roman Reigns finally won the title, only to step away due to his battle with leukemia.

However, while there were memorable champions, such as AJ Styles very impressive title reign, there were others that were so forgettable that many people don't even remember that they held the titles. Add on other wrestlers who seem to be far removed from their title reigns, and here are 10 WWE superstars you forgot were champions in 2018.

10. ROMAN REIGNS - INTERCONTINENTAL

The big story in 2018 was Roman Reigns' chase of the WWE Universal Championship and his eventual conquering of Brock Lesnar. This was supposed to be the start of a long-term title run -- one that ended in tragedy when Reigns had to step down as the champion.

However, one thing many people forgot was that Reigns was the Intercontinental Champion in 2018. While most of the year focused on his chase of Lesnar, Reigns opened 2018 as the IC champ, holding the belt for two months before losing the title to The Miz on Jan. 22 at the Monday Night Raw 25th anniversary special.

9. SETH ROLLINS AND JASON JORDAN - RAW TAG

At one time, Jason Jordan and Chad Gable were the hottest tag team in NXT. However, American Alpha never caught on with the fans on the main roster and soon the two were split up. While Gable is the current Raw tag team champion, it was Jordan who won the title first.

When it comes to WWE superstars you forgot were champions in 2018, Jordan is easy to overlook. He was in a forgettable gimmick as Kurt Angle's son and teamed with Seth Rollins in a team that Rollins never wanted. The two won the Raw tag titles from the bar on Christmas in 2017 and lost them back on Jan. 28 at the Royal Rumble.

8. THE MIZ - INTERCONTINENTAL

Chris Jericho holds the record for the most Intercontinental title reigns in WWE history at nine. Pedro Morales holds the record for the most days as the IC champion at 619. However, The Miz ranks second in both of those categories with eight reigns for 599 days.

With Miz on SmackDown Live and spending much of 2018 feuding with Daniel Bryan, it is almost easy to forget that he held the Intercontinental title earlier in the year while he was still on Monday Night Raw. He won the title from Roman Reigns in January and lost it to Seth Rollins at WrestleMania 34.

7. NIA JAX - RAW WOMEN'S

Nia Jax faced Ronda Rousey at WWE TLC, the last pay-per-view of 2018 for the WWE. However, while it seemed that Nia was chasing an elusive title from a dominant titleholder at the time, it is easy to forget that Jax was a WWE champion in 2018.

While Alexa Bliss had a memorable title reign as champion and Ronda Rousey is the biggest face in the company now, Nia Jax held the title in between -- a reign that few remember. She won the title from Alexa Bliss at WrestleMania 34 and then lost it back to Bliss two months later.

6. BRAUN STROWMAN - RAW TAG

Braun Strowman has been chasing Brock Lesnar for a long time and still hasn't pulled off a win for the WWE Universal Championship. He kept losing to the Beast and will get yet another shot at the Royal Rumble in 2019. However, he is another WWE superstar you forgot was a champion in 2018.

Braun Strowman went into WrestleMania with a shot at the Raw tag team titles. He buried the entire tag division to earn the shot and didn't even have a partner. Strowman picked a child from the audience named Nicholas and they won the titles from The Bar. One night later, Braun surrendered the titles, his mission accomplished.

5. JINDER MAHAL - UNITED STATES

Everyone remembers Jinder Mahal winning the WWE Championship and then holding it for 170 days. He was the poster boy for the idea that anyone could rise to the top on SmackDown Live but was ridiculed as one of the least deserving WWE champions of all time.

However, the WWE still seemed to want to push him after finally taking the title off of him. At WrestleMania, Mahal won the United States title and looked to be a foreign heel with the U.S. title. It lasted eight days before Jeff Hardy won it from him. Now, Shinsuke Nakamura is playing the role the Mahal couldn't.

4. BOBBY ROODE - UNITED STATES

Bobby Roode came to the WWE with a lot of promise. He was one of the top stars in TNA Impact Wrestling and proved to be just as good in the WWE. He quickly won the NXT title and seemed poised to finally prove he deserved to be in the WWE. He went to SmackDown Live and was pushed as a star.

However, most fans now see him as a mid-card star, currently holding the Raw tag titles with Chad Gable. Before that, he was drifting along and most of his fans wondered why the WWE wasn't pushing him. They did though - and it was in 2018. Many fans might forget Roode was a champion in 2018, winning the United States title in January and holding it for two months before losing it to Randy Orton.

3. ANDRADE CIEN ALMAS - NXT

WWE Superstars You Forgot Were Champions In 2018

There are some major fan favorites who have held the WWE NXT title. Guys like Kevin Owens, Samoa Joe, Finn Balor, Shinsuke Nakamura - people who went on to become huge names in the WWE after leaving NXT. Then, there is Andrade Cien Almas. He is just as talented as the rest, but where is he now?

Almas gets occasional pushes here and there but he spends more time off television than he does wrestling on TV. It seems like forever since fans saw Almasa in a match that meant something. That makes it almost hard to believe that it was only eight short months ago that he was the WWE NXT Champion before losing it to Aleister Black at NXT TakeOver: New Orleans.

2. MOUSTACHE MOUNTAIN - NXT TAG

If you ask anyone about the WWE NXT tag team champions, they will probably remember that The Undisputed Era has held the titles for a very long time. That makes sense. They won the belts in November 2017 and are still the champions today, 13 months later. However, there was a moment in the middle that many people might have forgotten about.

On June 19, WWE NXT UK tag team Moustache Mountain (Trent Seven and Tyler Bate) won the tag team titles during the NXT UK Championship tournament show. They then lost the titles back two days later and are now a top contender for the upcoming NXT UK tag team tournament.

1. ENZO AMORE - CRUISERWEIGHT

WWE Superstars You Forgot Were Champions In 2018

One former WWE superstar you forgot was a champion in 2018 is one that the WWE might want you to never remember. In 2017, Neville set the precedent for what the WWE Cruiserweight Championship should look like. In 2018, the new-look 205 Live displayed the best in-ring action in the WWE.

However, in between, it was Enzo Amore who was the WWE Cruiserweight Champion at arguably the lowest point for 205 Live. He held the title from Oct. 22, 2017, until Jan. 23, 2018 when he was legitimately fired and forfeited the belt. It might be best to forget the Enzo-era and remember how great 205 Live became after he left.
