Is WWE Teasing A Shield Reunion?

The Shield was one of the hottest factions in the WWE, and their split was felt throughout the world, but now the promotion may be teasing a reunion.

WWE planted a lot of seeds this past Monday night on Raw to suggest that a full Shield reunion may soon be on the cards.

One of the hottest angles of the summer on Raw was the will-they, won't-they tease between Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose. The WWE Universe was eager to see the former Shield brothers reunite and eventually they did, of course, as they went on to win the Raw Tag Team Championships at SummerSlam.

Rollins and Ambrose are only two-thirds of the famed trio that once ran rough shot through WWE however. The elusive third member who is yet to rejoin their ranks is Roman Reigns. While all three men have enjoyed great success separately none of them have been shot to the top quite like The Big Dog. When The Architect and The Lunatic renewed pleasantries Reigns was busy chasing the Universal Championship, then embroiled in a feud with John Cena after that.

The Universal Champion is now absent for a while, as is John Cena. So that seemingly frees Reigns up for a month or two. That's certainly what WWE would have you believe, and they wasted no time in suggesting that a full Shield reunion is on the horizon in a major way. On Raw this week Reigns defeated The Miz in one-on-one competition but suffered a vicious beating from The Awesome One and his Miztourage after the fact. Once the beating was done Miz, Bo Dallas, and Curtis Axel put their fists together Shield-style over the lifeless body of Reigns.

The Shield was an incredibly popular faction at the height of their run, and every time a reunion is even hinted at nowadays it drives the WWE Universe into a frenzy. The Rollins-Ambrose teaming has the full backing of the fans, plus there has been the odd time like when the three set their differences aside to powerbomb Randy Orton through an announce table that had fans questioning whether a reunion was coming.

It has been three and a half years since Rollins turned his back on Reigns and Ambrose, so more than enough time has passed for a reunion to be a good idea. WWE more than tipped their cap towards the fact that a reunion is coming, and with Miztourage to battle with and Survivor Series on the horizon now would be the perfect time to do so.
