WWE Reveals Ric Flair's TV Return At StarrCade

WWE has updated the Starrcade card. They're officially bringing back the Starrcade pay-per-view event—which was WCW's biggest show every year. The last edition of the event happened in 2000 shortly before WCW fell apart and was bought out by Vince McMahon.

Even though all eyes are on Survivor Series in two weeks, the WWE is already building up a stacked card for Starrcade. Thus far, the event will feature Jinder Mahal defending his WWE Championship against Shinsuke Nakamura inside a Steel Cage.

Natalya will defend her SmackDown Women's Championship in a Steel Cage vs. Charlotte, while Baron Corbin, AJ Styles, and Rusev will compete in a Triple Threat match for the United States title.

As if these matches among others weren't enough, the return of a WWE legend should make the card even better. In an interview with SoloWrestling.com, Charlotte confirmed that her father, Ric Flair, will appear at Starrcade.

The Nature Boy recently fought through a life-threatening stomach illness, where he was given a 20 percent chance of surviving. Flair was released from the hospital in late September, so his return to WWE programming will undoubtedly be an emotional one.

Flair last appeared on television in the Nov. 28, 2016, edition of Raw, congratulating Sasha Banks when she stole the title from Charlotte. A return at Starrcade makes plenty of sense, as the Nature Boy headlined nine of their shows. That included an NWA World title match vs. Dusty Rhodes in 1985, a singles match vs. Sting in 1989, and a WCW World Heavyweight Championship match vs. Randy Savage in 1995.

There will definitely be nostalgic feelings in the air when Starrcade comes back. Ric Flair will be there for the show's first edition in 17 years, though it'll be put on by WWE this time. With a stacked card and the emotional return of the Nature Boy, Starrcade is adding up to be one epic show. Stay tuned.
