WWE Bringing Back MAJOR Match Type For Next TakeOver [SPOILER]

WWE will be bringing back a major WCW match stipulation for NXT TakeOver: Houston. Not long ago, the WWE confirmed they'd be bringing back Starrcade in November. It was a WCW pay-per-view and the brain-child of former WCW and WWE wrestler Dusty Rhodes.

It looks like the WWE is going to be bringing back another Dusty Rhodes idea in the form of WarGames.WarGames was a match that was often held at WCW's Fall Brawl pay-per-view. It consists of two steel cages surrounding two rings and included either teams of four, five, or six competitors who would enter the rings at different time intervals. The concept started way back in 1987 and some of those earlier matches were widely regarded as some of the best matches in WCW history.

On Wednesday's episode of NXT, William Regal came out to announce that WarGames would be returning and would be the feature match at the next NXT TakeOver event in Houston, Texas.

It's a match that will have all sorts of people talking and will change the face of the pay-per-view, bringing carnage and excitement to an already interesting contest. It will feature a Triple Threat involved the team of Undisputed Era as they take on the team of Roderick Strong and the Authors of Pain versus SAnitY in the 2-ring WarGames match.

WWE is going all out trying to find something that will get the WWE Universe tuning into to the remaining pay-per-views of the year. With the company reviving some of WCW's most iconic shows and matches, NXT is the perfect environment for a match of this kind.

Outside of the fact that it's been over 20 years since the match was last held, the combination of skill and daredevil antics that could be a match between Undisputed Era, The Authors of Pain and SAnitY will make this a must see moment in NXT and WWE history.

It will be interesting to see if Cody Rhodes has anything to say about this development. He was clearly not happy when WWE announced the return of Starrcade.
