The life of a professional wrestler is beyond tough, and often times former wrestlers completely 'fall off the rails' in terms of maintaining their bodies once their careers in Sports Entertainment wrap-up. It certainly doesn't take a genius to understand why some wrestlers deflate following retirement, as it can be guaranteed that most are incredibly tired of working out relentlessly (coming off 'the juice' also speeds up the process). However, there are always exceptions to every rule, and some former WWE and WCW stars still look great despite retiring from full-time wrestling and getting up there in age.

However, the number of former wrestling stars looking different for the worse outweigh those who have maintained their physiques, as the combination of not exercising enough mixed with possible substance abuse surely takes its toll on any wrestler's body over time. I think one of the main reasons as to why many ex-WWE and WCW stars let themselves go stems from the fact that they come off 'the juice' once they retire, and they end up deflating very quickly. It is hard for wrestlers to get back into shape once they've stopped juicing seeing their physiques weren't natural to begin with. That being said, today we're going to be focusing on 10 wrestlers who look way different for the better, and 10 wrestlers who look way different for the worse, in other words, they definitely let themselves go.

20 For The Better: Gene Snitsky

via instagram.com

To put this bluntly, former WWE Superstar Gene Snitsky's looking absolutely incredible now, and he definitely resembles current star Braun Strowman. Although Snitsky may very well be back 'on the juice', Gene's transformation is far from average even with the extra assistance, and he's looking way different for the better. If you can believe, Snitsky's actually 48 years old, so his current condition is even more shocking.

Although Snitsky completely flopped in WWE despite being given multiple gimmicks and every opportunity to succeed, I'd argue he'd be ready for a return now in the shape he is in. A feud with 'The Monster Among Men' would certainly be appealing on paper, and it would give Snitsky an opportunity to make right on his past failures in WWE. Whatever the case may be, you've got to give Gene credit for becoming an absolute 'freak of nature'.

19 For The Worse: Ahmed Johnson

via allwrestlingsuperstars.com/cagesideseats.com

One of the worst transformations in Sports Entertainment history, former Intercontinental Champion Ahmed Johnson has completely fallen off the rails since retiring from the ring. Once Ahmed retired in 2003, he clearly came off 'the juice', and he's deflated and filled out as a result - he's looking pretty different these days.

However, it's also clear that Johnson could be in slightly better shape now even without the juice had he tried keeping to a decent diet as well as hitting the gym occasionally, but Ahmed Johnson has instead let himself go entirely. Ahmed definitely looks way different for the worse, as he's almost become unrecognizable with age. During the peak years of Johnson's career in wrestling, Ahmed possessed an extremely intimidating physique, and it's quite sad to witness Johnson become a shell of his former self.

18 For The Better: Santino Marella

via ewrestlingnews.com

Santino Marella has arguably gotten himself into the best shape of his life following his retirement from wrestling, and he's looking far more intimidating now compared to the comedy relief character he portrayed in WWE - Marella looks like a legitimate World Title contender. Santino undoubtedly looks way different for the better, and he's in fantastic shape for being in his early 40s.

Since leaving the world of Sports Entertainment behind, Santino now works for Sportsnet as one of their Aftermath panel analysts, and he also runs his own multi-use gym called 'Battle Arts Academy' in Ontario. Marella may have just been a midcard comedy act for much of his career in WWE, but the fact remains Marella made the best of what he was given to work with, and Santino's still a very memorable Superstar.

17 For The Worse: The Undertaker

via pinterest.com

The Undertaker seems just as unwilling to let himself retire in one piece as the WWE is, as rumours suggest 'Taker will in fact be performing at WrestleMania this year against John Cena. However, if there's one thing for certain about Undertaker, it's the fact that he's completely out of shape and 'washed up'. Showcased above is a recent picture of 'The Deadman', and while his gut isn't quite as large as it was a few years back when 'Taker had been plagued with injuries, The Undertaker's looking anything but 'ring ready'.

Undertaker's body has been falling apart rapidly the past four 'Mania's or so, and he's looking downright terrible now. If he must, let's just hope this years WM is the final in-ring appearance of The Undertaker, as he's unquestionably tainting his legacy with each match - they're hard to watch at this point.

16 For The Better: Batista

via twitter.com

Compared to his latest run with the WWE in 2014, Batista's undoubtedly looking way different for the better. During his last run in WWE, Batista had cut down his weight and overall muscle mass very noticeably, and he certainly didn't resemble 'The Animal' of old. However, since departing WWE, Batista's gotten himself back into incredible shape, and he's definitely gotten his once impressive muscle mass back.

The picture above showcases what Batista's looking like right now, and unlike The Undertaker, Batista looks fully ready for a return to WWE. Who knows if Batista's back 'on the juice' or not, because at 49 years old, it's incredibly difficult to look the way 'Tista does naturally. Regardless, the freak of nature bodybuilder look suits Batista best, and he made the right choice to regain his size and mass.

15 For The Worse: Ric Flair

via pinterest.com

'The Nature Boy' Ric Flair's health has been deteriorating rapidly the past few years, and he's certainly looking way different for the worse, in other words, downright terrible. However, deteriorated health or not, Ric Flair's continued to live his life to the fullest, and he's recently been featured in Offset and Metro Boomin's 'Ric Flair Drip' music video.

Whether or not Ric's making the best decisions for his health, you simply can't deny the fact that Flair's still a true 'limousine riding' legend, and his legacy is spilling into the music industry. Ric Flair was living the life of a 'baller' before all the singers and celebrities today, and he's definitely one of many celebs idols. That being said, I hope Ric Flair makes better choices when it comes to his diet as well as cutting back his alcohol consumption, because it's undoubtedly putting a strain on his body.

14 For The Better: Vladimir Kozlov

via youtube.com

If you had to take a second look at the picture above showcasing former WWE Superstar Vladimir Kozlov before and after retirement to make sure it was him, then you'd be in the same boat as me. Vladimir Kozlov has unquestionably gotten himself into the best shape of his entire life, and he's definitely looking way different for the better.

While Kozlov was quite the intimidating specimen throughout his run in WWE, Vladimir's went full 'beast mode' since leaving Sports Entertainment, and he truly does look like a badass version of Hugh Jackman. Whether or not Vladimir's on 'the juice' to help maintain his incredible physique, Kozlov's transformation is shocking to say the least. Since retiring from wrestling, Vladimir's found solid work in Hollywood performing as a stuntman, though I'm sure some fans are hoping Kozlov will find his way back to WWE in the future.

13 For The Worse: Barry Windham

via flickr.com

Former WCW World Champion Barry Windham has become completely unrecognizable with age, and he's looking way different for the worse since retiring. No longer rocking blonde hair and a solid physique, Windham has deflated and filled out since coming off 'the juice'. However, similar to Ahmed Johnson, Barry could be looking much better now had he attempted to stick to a diet as well as hitting the gym on occasion after retirement, because he's certainly not too old to still look decent - Windham's only 57.

Regardless, Barry's let himself go in recent years, and the photo above showcases the Four Horsemen stablemate posing with a fan not too long ago. Keeping in shape is definitely not only about looking good, as it's very critical in maintaining ones health - Barry suffered from some severe health issues a while back, and getting in shape would serve him well.

12 For The Better: Rey Mysterio

via givemesport.com

Although Rey Mysterio always stayed in shape throughout his career in WWE, the fact remains Mysterio has gotten himself into impeccable condition since departing the company. Showcased above is a side-by-side comparison of Mysterio before and after his radical transformation, and it's clear Rey's been hitting the gym like crazy recently. While some may make the assumption that Mysterio's back on 'the juice', as we've mentioned before, hard word and a strict diet is required none the less.

Rey Mysterio had recently made his way back to WWE for the Royal Rumble, and though many fans have been excited to hear that Rey's working out a deal with the company, recent rumors suggest Mysterio has unfortunately suffered an injury - he'd reportedly torn his left bicep last Friday at an Indie event. Terribly timed, Mysterio's injury could keep him on the shelf for a number of months, and missing WrestleMania 34 is very possible.

11 For The Worse: Jazz

via wwe.com

Former 2-time WWE Women's Champion Jazz has been looking downright terrible the past few years, and she's completely deflated since her career in WWE ended. Obviously Jazz hasn't been overly concerned about maintaining her once impressive physique on the Indies, but it's definitely been a transformation in a negative way.

Perhaps Jazz wasn't the most attractive women's wrestler in WWE during her stay there with the likes of Trish Stratus and Torrie Wilson among her, but her body was definitely out of the ordinary in a good way. Possessing a physique that could rival any male performer on the roster, it's quite sad to see Jazz looking the way she does now. Of course nobody stays in that kind of shape forever, but it's not arguable that Jazz could be looking much better now if she put in a bit more effort in the gym.

10 For The Better: Al Snow

via instagram.com

Without question, Al Snow has been looking way different for the better recently, and compared to his peak in Sports Entertainment, Al looks looks like an entirely different performer now. Since leaving the WWE, Al Snow's become a true 'body guy', and he's put in an insane amount of hard work in the gym to attain such a physique at his age.

While Al Snow's well past his peak, he looks better than ever, and it doesn't seem too farfetched to think that he could return to the WWE in the future for a one-off appearance. Regardless, Snow definitely made a great decision to change his body for the better, as his health has undoubtedly improved. However, while we've given Al Snow credit for his unbelievable transformation, let's not sweep the fact that Snow may be on 'the juice' under the rug, as he very well might be.

9 For The Worse: Ted DiBiase Sr.

via twitter.com

While Ted Dibiase Sr. never possessed the most shredded physique even at his peak in WWE, it's clear 'The Million Dollar Man' has let himself go in recent memory. Showcased above is a recent photograph of Dibiase and a fan, and you can clearly tell that Ted's gut has been expanding, and his pants certainly aren't fitting like they used to. Although Ted Dibiase's quite significantly older than most of the other wrestlers included on this list, at 64 years old, Ted's certainly not too old to still be in shape.

That being said, Dibiase has instead chosen to enjoy his retirement without the stress of working out relentlessly, and his diet is obviously not very strict. However, compared to a wrestling star much older than him such as Bruno Sammartino who's still in superb shape, Ted Dibiase could definitely learn a few things and pull himself together a bit.

8 For The Better: Bruno Sammartino

via blogspot.ca

Considering Bruno Sammartino's arguably in better shape now at 82 years old than he was two decades ago, Bruno has undoubtedly been looking way different for the better. The picture above showcases Sammartino showing off his impressive physique outside in the bright sunlight, and he definitely has a great reason to be smiling the way he was in the photo.

Bruno's almost in the shape he was during his peak in Sports Entertainment, and the thing that makes Sammartino's transformation even more impressive is the fact that he's likely natural. I suppose one could say that Bruno has great genetics to be able to look the way he does in his early 80s and with all the abuse his body took for decades on end, but the fact remains Sammartino's still working out incredibly hard to maintain his physique.

7 For The Worse: Bobby Eaton

via mandatory.com

Following his retirement, Bobby Eaton's become unrecognizable with age, and he's looking way different for the worse - in other words, absolutely terrible. Bobby used to possess a great physique during his run in WCW, and considering he was once dubbed 'Beautiful' Bobby Eaton, he's certainly not aged too gracefully. While Eaton looks as though he could be well into his early 70s, Bobby's actually only 59 years old.

Bobby's health deteriorating over the years has undoubtedly affected his looks, and he's been in and out of hospitals the past decade or so. That said, Bobby Eaton boasts a near 40 year career in Sports Entertainment, and though the final 15 years of his career were spent on the Indies performing at small venues or 'bingo halls' as some fans like to say, Bobby had a great career, and having the reputation of being one of the nicest wrestlers in the business just tops it off.

6 For The Better: Scott Hall

via pinterest.com

I don't think there's a former wrestling star who's bounced back as well as Scott Hall has, and he's looking way different for the better. After years of abusing drugs and alcohol compounded with not exercising at all, Scott's looking phenomenal now to say the least and his transformation is inspiring.

Hall's good friend Diamond Dallas Page can largely be credited for helping Scott get back on the right track, and Hall's arguably looking as he good as he did during his prime in professional wrestling. It's been great to see Scott Hall regain his life and his overall health, as Scott was heading in an absolutely terrifying direction just a few years ago. Hall had come very close to passing away not too long ago, and I'm sure good buddies Kevin Nash and Triple H are proud of The Bad Guy's changes.

5 For The Worse: Perry Saturn

via mandatory.com

Perry Saturn's post-retirement life has been a complete roller coaster ride, and he's unfortunately looking way different for the worse since retiring from Sports Entertainment - Perry's looking completely unrecognizable and quite honestly, terrible. Perry Saturn's openly admitted to suffering from severe drug addiction during his career and afterwards, and Saturn was apparently homeless for a period of time when he was amidst the worst points of his addiction.

Thankfully, Perry's 'bounced back' somewhat in recent memory, and while he still looks terribly washed up, at least he's not abusing drugs or alcohol like he used to. Our choices definitely do catch up with us eventually, and in Saturn's case, the years of substance abuse have certainly taken their toll on Perry's body and appearance.

4 For The Better: Matt Morgan

via instagram.com

While Matt Morgan always possessed a good physique throughout his career in WWE and Impact Wrestling, Matt's undoubtedly been looking way different for the better, and he's definitely in the best shape of his life currently at 41 years old. Matt's on a bit of a hiatus from wrestling right now, as he recently departed Impact and hasn't been performing regularly on the Indies - perhaps Morgan's headed to WWE in the future?

With a lack of true monsters in WWE, Matt would definitely be a solid addition to either SmackDown Live or Raw. However, it's more likely that Matt Morgan's retiring from wrestling fully in the near future, as he's focusing on his bodybuilding career right now. Regardless, Matt Morgan's made a terrific transformation, and he's certainly a 7 foot intimidating beast - natural or not.

3 For The Worse: The Nasty Boys

via the sun.co.uk

The Nasty Boys Brian Knobbs and Jerry Sags have been looking pretty rough the past few years (downright terrible), and they've definitely deflated and filled out since their departure from WCW. The downfall of this talented duo has been well documented, and The Nasty Boys never recovered from Jerry Sags' outburst in WCW involving Kevin Nash and Scott Hall.

You'll often find The Nasty Boys at wrestling conventions across the country trying to live off the bit of fame they still have left, but if there's one thing for certain, it's the fact that they've definitely let themselves go. The Nasty Boys still wrestle occasionally on the Indies performing at small events or in gymnasiums, but they're definitely shells of their former selves. While The Nasty Boys were never in phenomenal shape even during their peak, they've unquestionably filled out completely.

2 For The Better: Stevie Richards

via instagram.com

Former ECW, WCW and WWE Superstar Stevie Richards is unquestionably in the best shape of his life at the surprising age of 46, and he's certainly looking way different for the better. While Richards had a fair physique during his stint in WWE, Stevie's definitely taken it to the next level since leaving the spotlight behind, and he's absolutely shredded.

Since departing WWE, Stevie Richards has been heavily involved with DDP's Yoga, and he's currently mentoring other people to make healthier choices with his 'Stevie Richards Fitness Program'. Aside from his jobs in the fitness industry, Richards also host his own podcast called the 'T4 Show' as well as performing on the Indies occasionally. Regardless, Stevie Richard's is looking phenomenal despite nearing 50 years of age, and he looks like an older version of Seth Rollins in all honesty.

1 For The Worse: Lex Luger

via twitter.com

Without question, one of the most shocking wrestling transformations in the worst way imaginable is 'The Total Package' Lex Luger. Lex looks nothing like he used to, and he's unfortunately lost all of his once impressive muscle mass. Luger is a perfect example to prove the notion that 'the juice' is terrible for wrestlers, and fittingly, Lex Luger now works with the WWE behind the scenes to prevent the future generation of talent from going down the same path he and many other former WWE and WCW stars went of abusing the juice along with other substances. That being said, Lex's looking downright terrible these days, and it's truly sad to see a performer who undoubtedly possessed one of the most intimidating physiques of all time look so unrecognizable.
