WWE was forced to drastically change up their plans for WrestleMania 36 due to the coronavirus outbreak, but everything is starting to fall into place now.

The company relocated the show from Raymond James Stadium in Tampa Bay to the Performance Center in Orlando. Earlier this week, WWE announced that WrestleMania 36 will be a two-night show (Apr. 4 and 5) with various locations. Rob Gronkowski, whom WWE signed last week, will serve as the host.

There are currently nine matches on the card, including six championship tilts. With the show spread across two nights, the match total will heavily increase. Initially, WWE reportedly had 16 planned matches.

One title match will see Bayley defend her SmackDown Women's Championship in a six-pack elimination match against Sasha Banks, Tamina, Lacey Evans, Naomi and Dana Brooke.

On Wrestling Observer Radio (h/t Ringside News), Dave Meltzer explained that WWE "wanted to do Sasha vs Bayley at WrestleMania," but there simply wasn't enough time for proper buildup.

WWE ultimately decided to go with the six-pack elimination match, which will mark the beginning of a Banks-Bayley feud. This way, WWE doesn't have to rush into their program without any proper buildup.

Since they joined the main roster, Bayley and Banks have continued to work together as close friends, both as faces and as heels. There was a short-term feud between them in the summer of 2018, but they managed to patch things up after seeing a counselor.

It's only a matter of time until these two eventually begin a long-term program. WWE has teased it for several years now, but nothing has come about yet. It sounds like they're finally going to follow through with it after WrestleMania, though.

Perfect Time For The Bayley-Banks Feud

Bayley has feuded with the majority of female superstars on the SmackDown Live roster, and it's time for WWE to try something new. Banks, Bayley's longtime friend, is the perfect candidate to challenge her next. Given their excellent on-screen chemistry together, a Banks-Bayley feud should provide a major boost for the SmackDown product. We'll see how it all begins at WrestleMania.
