The rise of women's wrestling in the last few years has been a great thing to see, and as we look ahead to the future, it really does seem like things will keep moving from strength to strength. However, instead of looking ahead, we thought it'd be fun to take a look back over the last ten years to appreciate the women who have truly been trailblazers for the division.

On both RAW and SmackDown Live, across four different championship belts, they've all been able to make an impact in one way or another - and it's about time that fans recognize that.

10 Beth Phoenix

While her actual time spent as champion may not have been all too memorable in the eyes of some fans, there’s no way of getting around the fact that Beth Phoenix is, and always will be, an icon within the wrestling business.

As one of the more intimidating women to have stepped foot through the door of WWE, it was always clear to see that she was going to have some kind of advantage in her favor. As it turns out, she took the ball and ran with it – becoming a Hall of Famer in the process.

9 Naomi

Nobody really saw Naomi as someone that could ascend to the lofty heights of being a champion in WWE, and yet, she has been able to prove all of those doubters wrong with, in many ways, flawless ease.

Her ‘glow’ gimmick from back in 2017 really did help her out with that, to the point where you could argue she was one of the most over stars on the entire roster. That isn’t really the case any longer, but even so, she’s still an incredibly valuable asset for the company to have.

8 Sasha Banks

Sasha should probably have had a longer title reign by now, but given the current state of her tenure with the company, it feels like this may be the best we’re going to get. If that is indeed the case, can we just say one thing: she looks damn good with a belt on her shoulder or around her waist.

She just gives off the aura of someone that deserves to be a champion, and we forever think that will be the case for as long as she decides to compete inside of the squared circle.

7 Bayley

Bayley’s time with the RAW Women’s Championship was okay, and included a WrestleMania title match, but we don’t think it was quite on the same level as her current spell with the SmackDown Women’s Championship.

Bayley has done a great job of raising the profile of that belt, to the point where we’d actually suggest that she is one of the best current champions in all of WWE. It feels like she’s finally maturing into the kind of character that we were all hoping to see, and that is a wonderful sign.

6 Michelle McCool

In an era where women’s wrestling wasn’t really all too appreciated, Michelle McCool was able to consistently raise the bar as one of the most underrated female stars in the company. Sure, her marriage to The Undertaker probably helped her in-ring ability, but who cares where she got it from?

All we know is that she was really fun to watch in the ring, and from a character perspective, she was even better. There are certain heels that are perfect as champions that need to be chased down, and Michelle is one of them.

5 Alexa Bliss

She wasn’t considered to be one of the biggest stars in NXT’s women’s division during her time in developmental, but even with that being the case, she has still been able to serve as one of the most successful female stars in all of professional wrestling in the last few years.

It’s been a pretty meteoric rise for Bliss who, at this stage, could probably thrive as a babyface just as easily as she has done in her current heel role. She’s athletic, she’s gorgeous, she’s charismatic, and she knows how to deliver in a title match scenario.

4 Becky Lynch

The Man seems to be on top of the world right now, and while some would argue she has lost some steam since WrestleMania 35, we really don’t think any of that matters all too much. What matters, above all else, is that she is the RAW Women’s Champion.

She captured the belt fair and square, and she looks set to continue to defend it with pride – with some suggesting that she could carry it all the way through until WrestleMania 36. Some may say that’s unlikely, but you just never know in the modern era.

3 Nikki Bella

You don’t have to like Nikki Bella, but you do have to appreciate what she’s been able to achieve and accomplish in professional wrestling. While she may not have always been the best in-ring performer, over time, she certainly got to a point where she could have a great match with just about anyone on the roster. In many ways, we see her as the female version of The Miz.

She always worked better as a heel from a character point of view, and if you put her in the modern-day landscape of WWE, she’d do just fine.

2 AJ Lee

She’s just fab, isn’t she? AJ Lee brought an entirely different dynamic to WWE when she first burst onto the main roster, going from Daniel Bryan’s girlfriend to a crazy & obsessive fangirl to the general manager to the Divas Championship.

That’s the kind of rollercoaster ride we’ve all come to expect from being a WWE superstar, and it’s certainly a fascinating process to watch in action. Funnily enough, too, AJ was able to become a really intriguing in-ring performer – despite many believing that it was just her character work that was impressive.

1 Charlotte Flair

She’s the best, to the point where we actually believe she might be one of the most impressive all-around performers in the history of WWE. That sounds over the top but when you look at her resume, and her greatest ever matches, it’s kind of hard to argue with that logic.

Following in the footsteps of someone like Ric Flair was always going to be an uphill battle, but to be honest, she was able to handle it better than 99% of people in her position would.

All hail the Queen.
