There's a reason that wrestling fans are always told "don't try this at home", and that's because professional wrestling is incredibly dangerous. While the wrestlers inside the ring manage to make it look easy, the risk factor is incredibly high with every move, and that is why injuries do occur from time to time within the industry.

While they're always accidents, that doesn't make them any nicer to see. Wrestlers can be incredibly tough and they are able to battle through and keep wrestling during certain injuries, but being knocked out isn't one of them. It's an unfortunate situation whenever it does happen, and sadly there have been several examples of wrestlers being legitimately knocked out within the ring during their matches.

10 Shane McMahon (Survivor Series, 2016)

Shane McMahon has always been known as a risk-taker and someone who will put his body on the line. At the 2016 Survivor Series, he was unfortunately injured. The moment came after he attempted to launch himself from the top rope towards Roman Reigns.

However, The Big Dog caught him with a Spear in mid-air, only the timing wasn't quite spot on here. It was clear straight away from the landing that Shane wasn't right, and he ended up being taken to the back, with footage of Randy Orton assuring Shane's sons he was okay being shown from ringside that night.

9 Daniel Bryan (SmackDown; August 18, 2011)

Daniel Bryan has had a longstanding history with neck and head injuries and the moment he was reportedly knocked out by Alberto Del Rio likely didn't help. This match came in 2011 and saw Bryan end up being booted in the head.

The shot was just a little too stiff and unfortunately, it appeared to knock out Daniel Bryan for a brief moment. While he's suffered worse injuries throughout his career, this was certainly not a nice moment to see.

8 Mick Foley (King Of The Ring, 1998)

Hell In A Cell

Mick Foley has always gone overboard in putting his body on the line and no match sums that up more than his classic Hell in a Cell with The Undertaker. Foley was launched off the top and then put through the roof, not to mention all the other huge bumps he took after.

To absolutely no surprise, Foley was knocked out during this match, which took place after the fall from the roof to the mat. It was an incredibly rough landing and it's no shock he was knocked out, but the fact he still fought after that is a testament to his hardcore ability.

7 Liv Morgan (Monday Night Raw; September 24, 2018)

It isn't just the male wrestlers who have taken huge knockout blows inside the ring, as Liv Morgan was unfortunately on the receiving end of a rough spot on Raw in 2018. Competing in a tag team match, Morgan ended up catching a sharp kick straight to the head from Brie Bella.

It was slap bang in the middle of the match and it was clear straight away that Liv had been knocked out. She immediately looked out of sorts and quickly tagged out, playing only a small role within the rest of it.

6 Kairi Sane (TLC, 2019)

Kairi Sane was a superb WWE Superstar and someone who proved herself to be incredibly tough. TLC matches are obviously very dangerous, and unfortunately during the 2019 PPV main event, Kairi Sane found that out first-hand.

While it's not clear the exact spot that caused her injury, Sane was knocked out during the match as it was obvious she wasn't 100%. Sane continued to battle throughout, trying to make sure she finished things, proving just how good she is.

5 Goldberg (Super ShowDown, 2019)

Goldberg's match with The Undertaker at Super Show-Down in 2019 wasn't what anybody expected it to be, with several major botches taking place. However, a lot of that was down to the fact Goldberg ended up being knocked out.

There were several dangerous spots here with Goldberg hitting the turnbuckle post head-first and then landing on his head from a Tombstone Piledriver, which ended up knocking the Hall Of Famer out.

4 William Regal (No Way Out, 2003)

William Regal knocked out

William Regal is an incredibly experienced professional and one of the greatest in-ring talents of all time. However, at No Way Out in 2003, he was unfortunately knocked out cold in the ring.

It came after a slam from Kane in what was a very normal wrestling move. However, it just proves anything can happen, even with 'safe' moves, as Regal landed wrong and straight away it was clear he was knocked out.

3 Bart Gunn (WrestleMania XV)

bART gUNN VS bUTTERBEAN

The entire Brawl For All tournament was a complete disaster from start to finish, with this doing no good for anybody involved. Bart Gunn was the 'winner' of the tournament, but his prize for doing so was a legitimate boxing match with Butterbean.

Of course, when fighting a true boxer, this was always going to have only one end result. Unfortunately for Bart Gunn, that was being knocked out by Butterbean.

2 The Miz (WrestleMania 27)

The Miz v John Cena

Being knocked out inside the ring is never a nice situation and something wrestlers don't want to happen. But having it happen in the main event of WrestleMania is probably the worst place possible for that to happen.

Unfortunately for The Miz, that's what happened. During his match with John Cena, the two men took a tumble over the barriers and onto the concrete where Miz smashed his head on the floor. It was a really rough bump, but thankfully Miz was able to see the final moments of the match to close the show.

1 Enzo Amore (Payback, 2016)

The injury to Enzo Amore at Payback was an incredibly scary one as it was clear that there was a something majorly wrong. Amore was sent towards the ropes and was supposed to slide under them, only he actually collided with them and then took a nasty landing on the floor.

It was something that stopped the match for some time, with Enzo having to be taken to the back after being seriously injured from the spot.
