The professional wrestling industry has always been a very competitive one because of the amount of wrestlers trying to get to the top and only a handful being selected for it, but the wrestlers mostly get along with each other despite the competition. The WWE especially has seen its employees become friendlier to each other because of locker room camaraderie. However, that hasn't always been the case as there was a lot of tension in the 90s because of how much backstage politics plagued the industry.

A few wrestlers were given more power than some others, which allowed them to bully their peers and some more timid wrestlers who they knew wouldn't fight back. While bullying has reduced in the WWE because of their anti-bullying policy, it was rampant over a decade ago and management would often turn a blind eye to it. While there have been notorious bullies in the pro wrestling industry, there have also been many wrestlers who are absolute sweethearts who often helped their co-workers out.

There are some real saints in the professional wrestling industry who have helped make many wrestlers lives easier, while there were some equally mean wrestlers who loved to bully others. Let's look at 11 Wrestlers Who Were Notorious Bullies Backstage and 11 Who Were Saints.

22 Saint: Kane

Kane is reaching the dawn of his illustrious career in the WWE where he has raised hell over the past few decades and even though the Big Red Monster is known for terrorizing people on the roster, he's actually a really friendly and nice guy in real life. Kane is known to be very good to people backstage and has often helped many wrestlers adapt to life in the WWE, also helping management in some situations as well. He's been the ideal employee for the WWE over the years and has put over many wrestlers in the past, including Braun Strowman whom he seemingly passed the torch to. He's now running for Mayor in Knox County and looking towards a political career; knowing how people love him shows how he's been an absolute saint in the industry his whole career.

21 Bully: Randy Orton

Randy Orton added another trophy to his collection when he became Grand Slam Champion after winning the US Championship, but his success hasn't come without a little mischief by The Viper behind the scenes. While he's much more mature these days, Orton wasn't always this sensible and was actually a bit of a bully in the back many years ago. He actually doused a female wrestler's bag with baby oil and lotion after she didn't speak to him and would bully many of his opponents after the matches. Orton played a part in Mr. Kennedy's firing from WWE after he complained that he was reckless in the ring and his backstage power enabled him to bully people without getting into trouble. While Orton's attitude has improved in the past few years, he's been a big bully in WWE and made many dislike him because of it.

20 Saint: Seth Rollins

Seth Rollins proved himself to be one of the best wrestlers in the WWE with his terrific performances recently on Monday Night Raw and PPVs, as "The Man" is slowly heading back to the top while holding the IC title. While he may be a great guy on-screen, he's a really good person off it as well and enjoys hanging out with his colleagues who love him. Rollins often helps his co-workers in their matches with him and is a really popular figure backstage as he loves to fool around with other wrestlers. Rollins is also a regular on "UpUpDownDown" and an avid gamer, as he's been a real sweetheart backstage and never gotten into problems with anyone. He also loves to be with the fans and often strikes a pose with anyone who approaches him and has earned a reputation of being a saint in the back over the years.

19 Bully: Kevin Nash

Kevin Nash might've been "Big Daddy Cool" in the WWE in the 90s, but he was known to be quite the shrewd guy backstage who loved to use his power to play backstage politics to his favor. Nash was part of the "Kliq" and because of that, he had the free reign of bullying whoever he wanted and even got away with it! There's been multiple cases of Nash bullying wrestlers in the 90s and was not the ideal guy to hang around at all. He repeated that in WCW as well where he got some booking power and booked him to win many matches in the company. Nash was quite notorious for being a selfish wrestler and an utter bully back in the day and made quite a few enemies because of his terrible antics of picking on other wrestlers.

18 Saint: Mark Henry

Mark Henry made his name in the WWE as the "World's Strongest Man" who loved to crush his opponents and was especially terrorizing during his "Hall of Pain" angle many years ago. Henry might have thrived in the WWE as this terrorizing monster, but he was nothing like that in the back where he is always known to be very warm and welcoming to the new wrestlers. Henry has helped many wrestlers adapt to the WWE and also helped many "big" wrestlers like him with their wrestling as he became a veteran in WWE. Henry played a big in Braun Strowman and Big Cass' development on the main roster and even played a part in Strowman signing with WWE. He also swayed Vince to not give the "Mighty Mouse" gimmick to Neville.

17 Bully: Hornswoggle

Hornswoggle was quite the comedy act in the WWE and provided some entertaining stuff on the shows and even held the Cruiserweight Championship at one point in his career. While he was one guy who was always at the end of some bullying by the "bigger" wrestlers, it turns out that Hornswoggle was himself a big bully in the back, soemthign that has been reported by many wrestlers in the past. According to Brodus Clay, Hornswoggle was a big bully to him in WWE and he stated that "He's a verbal assassin... he picks, he judges and is just an evil guy". Apparently, Hornswoggle even attacked Clay once and in another incident, Hornswoggle left The Miz stranded at a gas station when he was given the wheels of a car. These incidents provide the proof and many might be shocked to learn that someone like Hornswoggle is a bully!

16 Saint: Bayley

Bayley has been a really sweet-natured character in the WWE since her debut at NXT and been a big fan-favorite because of her antics as a babyface character. While she might be going through a rough patch in the WWE recently, Bayley has always been a very good-natured person in real life and known to be exactly like her character in real life as well. She's friends with almost everyone in the back and loves to hang out with her NXT Alumni with whom she's very close. Bayley is also very warm to the fans and loves to hang out with them whenever she can and does not show any signs of an ego despite being quite a big WWE Star. Bayley's an absolute sweetheart in real life as well and has been an angel who has brighten up the WWE locker room in the past few years.

15 Bully: Hulk Hogan

Hulk Hogan is a big reason for the success of professional wrestling over all these years as it was he who helped elevate the WWE into mainstream popularity in the 80s with his terrific work as "The Immortal" Hulk Hogan. While he was an endearing baby-face on WWE TV, he was quite the bully backstage and would often use his power to his advantage. Hogan loved to indulge in some backstage politics in the back and often used his backstage power to influence Vince McMahon's decision for his own good. He also was a bully to a few wrestlers at the back who didn't get along that well with him and his terrible backstage politics is what later played a part in the death of WCW. Hogan might look like a great guy in front of a camera, but in reality, he's someone who bullies people for his own benefit.

14 Saint: Braun Strowman

Braun Strowman has been a terrorizing force in the WWE in the last year or so with the "Monster Among Men " getting massively over with the fans because of how he loves to destroy wrestlers in the WWE. Strowman might be this terrifying figure in WWE, but he's a really cool dude in real life who is nothing like his real-life character. Strowman is extremely friendly and gets along well with many of his colleagues in the WWE, with some very candid pictures of him with other wrestlers proving so. He's someone who is very welcoming to the fans and loves to strike a pose with them whenever he can and attends many meet and greets for WWE. Strowman's real personality is completely opposite to his kayfabe one as he's a real saint in real life who is a beloved figure in the back.

13 Bully: Mr. Perfect

Mr. Perfect was probably the most under-rated wrestler in the WWE during his time and was quite "perfect" with his snobby heel character in the WWE, but as it seems he was quite equally mischievous in real life as well. Curt Hennig was notorious for being a prankster and often loved to rib his colleagues in the wrong way and pulled off some brutal pranks which can be termed as bullying itself. He mixed Yokozuna's food with laxative on a flight, which forced the heavy-man to be taken to the back on the plain so that he could "relieve himself" in an artificial toilet. Along with that, Perfect also once left a bucket of human feces in The Ultimate Warrior's locker room, much to his disgust. He might've been a terrific wrestler, but Perfect was quite the prankster backstage and found much amusement in bullying his colleagues.

12 Saint: Finn Balor

Finn Balor might not be that "OVER" in Vince McMahon's eyes, but he's been doing a great job ever since properly recovering from his injury. Balor has thrived as a babyface in the WWE and just like his character, he's quite the cool guy in real life as well. Balor is known to be very friendly in the back and has become great friends with some WWE stars since arriving. Balor even helped train Becky Lynch back when they were both in NWA Ireland many years ago and often helps out other up and coming wrestlers improve their skills. Balor also loves to have fun with some other WWE stars as it can be seen in some "UpUpDownDown" videos and it seems from the general consensus that he's been a real saint backstage throughout his career.

11 Bully: Bill DeMott

Bill DeMott wasn't really that much of a successful wrestler in the WWE, but the company kept him employed as a trainer in their developmental territory because of how much of knowledge he had in professional wrestling. DeMott was actually head trainer at WWE for many years and helped to bring up many talents, but some of the awfully dark secrets of his training were discovered as years passed by. Many of the wrestlers who trained under him accused him of being a terrible bully who would physically assault them, use inappropriate slurs. He apparently even loved to give the stinkface to trainees who weren't up to the mark and DeMott apparently even dropped Enzo Amore once directly on his head in training. These incidents prove he was a terrible man and why WWE was right in firing the notorious bully.

10 Saint: Booker T

Booker T has been a really entertaining wrestler in the WWE ever since he arrived from WCW and even though a chunk of his WWE career has been him in a non-wrestling role, Booker has maintained his popularity with his work. Booker is known to be one of the nicer guys in the locker room as he hasn't had problems with wrestlers in the past and has helped many other adapt to life under WWE. Despite the WWE undermining his talent, Booker has been an ideal employee for them and also made many admirers in WWE over the years. He also owns a small-time wrestling promotion and does his best at training up and coming wrestlers there and Booker is someone who is in love with the wrestling industry, which is why he's been a saint and done whatever has been asked of him by wrestling promotions.

9 Bully: Hardcore Holly

Hardcore Holly had quite the long stay in the WWE and despite never really achieving main-event success, he was a great fit for their mid-card and especially for their Hardcore Division during the Attitude Era. Holly was a hard-hitting bad-ass in the ring, but as it seems, he had the reputation of being a notorious bully backstage when the curtains were off. Holly loved to bully the new talents and often got away with it as well and he used his intimidating nature to give stick to the young talents. In a shocking incident, Holly legitimately beat up Rene Dupree in a match at Smackdown after the young wrestler had by mistake cost Holly to get a speeding ticket. Holly wasn't liked by anyone backstage and it was a relief for many when WWE finally let him go and decided to put to an end to his bullying.

8 Saint: Daniel Bryan

Daniel Bryan's in-ring career came to a halt in the WWE as he retired from in-ring competition in 2016, becoming the SmackDown Live General Manager before being medically cleared to compete again a few months ago. Bryan put himself through all the obstacles in his career just to entertain the fans whom he genuinely cares for and loves to interact with whenever he can. He's also a darling among his peers and loved by many wrestlers in the back because of how friendly and receiving he truly is. Despite not wanting to do it, Bryan accepted WWE's offer of being Smackdown GM and has been an angel for the company over the years. Now, he's been rewarded with a second chance to do what he loves - wrestle. YES! YES! YES!

7 Bully: Shawn Michaels

Shawn Michaels was definitely one of the best wrestlers of his time and had an illustrious career which spanned almost two decades in the WWE, where he won the hearts of many fans with his work. While Michaels might've been a great babyface in the WWE, he was a real heel in the company especially during the 90s when he was the top guy of WWE for quite a long time. As the leader of the "Kliq", he had a lot of power backstage and bullied many wrestlers with his backstage politics. Michaels' even bullied the likes of Vader, Davey Boy Smith and even threatened to get Vader fired if he continued working stiff. HBK used his backstage hold very terribly and was a much-hated figure for his constant bullying and undermining talent back then and destroying the career of some promising talents in the WWE as well.

6 Saint: The Big Show

The Big Show has been a terrorizing individual in the WWE for almost two decades with the "Giant" of WWE has destroyed many wrestlers on his way to success in all these years. While he might be a terrifying giant in the WWE, Show is actually a very friendly guy in real life who has gotten along with almost everyone in his years in WWE. Not only was he an ideal employee for WWE, as he would put over whoever they wanted in some great feuds, but he also helped to train and help develop talents on the main roster. Show played a part in the training of Braun Strowman, Big Cass, and Baron Corbin when they came to the main roster and even put over Strowman himself. Show is also very warm with the fans and despite being a monster in WWE, he's a real saint in reality.

5 Bully: Scott Steiner

Scott Steiner has kept quite the reputation for himself in the wrestling circuit over the years and not all of it is good as he's been quite the controversial figure in wrestling over the years. Steiner might be a physical specimen because of his muscles but he's actually a very egotistical and terrible person in real life who loved to bully people in backstage when he was in WCW. His ego grew so high that Steiner saw fit to bully his peers and legitimately beat them up in a few matches as well. He was disliked by many wrestlers backstage because of his dirty antics such as this and hasn't been able to stay still at one promotion for much time because of it. Steiner's bullying allegations have upped the controversial nature of his character even more and made him someone not many want to be associated with.

4 Saint: Stephanie McMahon

Stephanie McMahon has brilliantly established herself as the evil boss lady of the WWE over the years and has been the authority of Monday Night Raw for quite some-time now. Stephanie might be this terrible general manager who always maintains what's "best of business" to the disgust of fans, but she's completely different in real life where she's an absolute sweetheart. Stephanie has been a great person backstage in WWE and is good friends with many of the wrestlers past and present because of how warming and helpful she is to everyone. It was Stephanie who helped kick-start the "Women's Revolution" with Triple H and she also saved John Cena's job many years ago, which turned out to be a masterstroke. Steph might be a cruel lady on screen, but she's quite a saint in real life who loves the business and everyone in it.

3 Bully: Dynamite Kid

Dynamite Kid is respected by many in the wrestling industry because of how much of an innovative wrestler he was back then, but he was also equally insane in real life and considered as a big bully in the WWE. Kid wrestled at a time where nobody really cared and he legitimately fractured Mick Foley's jaw during a match by punching him very hard. Kid's "ribbing" was absolutely brutal in bullying and did not care as he loved to bully wrestlers in the back by tearing up their shirts got into many bar-fights with people because of his bullying. He even made his dog suffered because of his bullying and wasn't liked by many because he was such a cruel bully.
