Sports Entertainment is definitely home to many relationships, and many couples are formed between Superstars due to the sheer amount of time they spend together on the road. However, that's not to say that all wrestlers choose to date one of their co-workers, as some have relationships outside the company with ordinary people or even celebrities from other fields of entertainment. Today, we're going to be looking at 8 wrestlers surprisingly dating nobodies, and 7 dating celebrities. The term 'nobody' sounds fairly harsh, but we're talking about a wrestler's boyfriend/girlfriend or spouse who's a nobody in the Sports Entertainment or Entertainment industry - not as a person of course.
Many big-time Superstars in promotions such as WWE are seen as celebrities, and it only makes sense that they have the ability to date other celebrities in the wrestling business or perhaps a celebrity from Hollywood or MMA. Just look at past wrestler/celeb relationships like David Otunga and Jenifer Hudson, Stacy Keibler and George Clooney or Torrie Wilson and A-Rod. Although there aren't very many high profile wrestler/celebrity couples right now, there are still a few WWE wrestlers dating either big wrestling names or celebrities from other fields. On the flip side of the same coin, some wrestlers are more 'down to earth' and don't need to be involved with another celebrity romantically, and have instead chosen to date people just like you and me.
15 15. Dating Nobodies: Randy Orton (Kim Kessler)
Considering how Randy Orton comes across both on and off screen, you'd expect Orton to be dating an equally famous celebrity in wrestling or Hollywood. However, that's surprisingly not the case as Randy's married to Kim Kessler. She has absolutely no involvement in the Entertainment industry whatsoever. Instead, Kessler's just like the rest of us and she had been a huge Randy Orton fan prior to even meeting 'The Viper'.
Randy and Kim ended up crossing paths at a WWE event in New York a number of years back (sometime in 2012), and Orton was the one who made the first move by asking for Kessler's name. Randy and Kim 'tied the knot' in November 2015 after a few years of dating, and they've been going strong ever since. Kessler live happily with Randy and her four children (three from a previous relationship and one with Orton).
14 14. Dating Celebrities: Becky Lynch (Luke Sanders)
'The Irish Lass Kicker' Becky Lynch remains one of the WWE's most popular Women's Division stars despite being booked rather poorly in the past year. Becky's arguably one of the company's most attractive female talents, and her fanbase is enormous as one can imagine. For those of you who were unaware, Becky's currently dating a celebrity athlete who goes by the name of Luke 'Cool Hands' Sanders in UFC.
His pro MMA career stands at 11 wins, 2 losses, and he's a two time world MMA Champion. Showcased above is a recent photograph of Sanders and Lynch, and they definitely seem like a perfect match - Becky's always come across as one tough lady, so it only makes sense that she's dating someone similar.
13 13. Dating Nobodies: Baron Corbin (Rochelle Roman)
SmackDown Live's Baron Corbin definitely comes across as a bit of an egotistical guy who wouldn't be satisfied with dating a nobody, but he's surprisingly not dating another celebrity at this point - though he has in the past (the lead singer of the band In This Moment). Currently, Corbin is dating the beautiful Rochelle Roman, and to our knowledge, she's working as a Florida hospital nurse.
Baron Corbin is truly one of the most despised heels in the WWE today, and that's because he seems like he could be the same guy outside the ring as well (he reportedly is). How Baron Corbin was able to pull off someone as gorgeous as Rochelle is beyond me, but he has so we've got to give 'The Lone Wolf' credit for doing so.
12 12. Dating Celebrities: Gail Kim (Robert Irvine)
Former WWE and Impact Wrestling Superstar Gail Kim is currently married to celebrity chef Robert Irvine following a number of years of dating the Food Network star. Robert's renowned for his shows including Dinner: Impossible as well as his own talk show, The Robert Irvine Show. Gail had met Irvine on the set for Dinner: Impossible, and they've been going strong ever since - I'm sure Robert takes Gail Kim on expensive lunch and dinner dates regularly.
Although many fans had wanted to see Gail Kim return to the WWE, that's unfortunately not going to happen as Kim retired from in-ring competition earlier this month following a match-up against Kasey Owens in the United Kingdom. Gail now works for Impact Wrestling as a backstage producer and agent, and she's definitely earned her retirement after spending years of performing at an elite level.
11 11. Dating Nobodies: Sasha Banks (Sarath Ton)
Finishing off this list we have 'The Boss' Sasha Banks. Considering Banks portrays herself as a glamorous 'Boss' on television, you'd think she'd be dating someone who has a similar celebrity status. That's not the case for Sasha, as she's fairly recently married her long-time boyfriend Sarath Ton aka Kid Mikaze who's widely unknown to the WWE Universe. Sarath is a small-time Independent wrestler who now works for the WWE behind the scenes as a costume designer.
Sasha and Sarath quietly married back in August 2016, and it wasn't until a picture was leaked online that fans realized Banks had been 'taken off the market'. Sasha Banks had apparently kept her relationship with Sarath a secret because of the fact that some fans were rude towards Ton. Regardless, Sarath Ton's definitely one lucky guy, and I'm sure he's very proud of the accomplishments his wife Sasha has achieved in WWE.
10 10. Dating Celebrities: Ronda Rousey (Travis Browne)
Now that Ronda Rousey has officially signed to a full-time WWE contract, we can refer to the former UFC Women's Bantamweight Champion as being a WWE Superstar or a 'wrestler' over an MMA fighter. For those of you who were unaware, Rousey has married UFC fighter Travis Browne back in August of 2017 in Hawaii after spending a couple of years dating the UFC heavyweight.
Travis' pro record in MMA stands at 18 wins, 7 losses and 1 draw - pretty impressive, but not quite as impressive as his wife's. Considering UFC president Dana White believes Travis should retire, perhaps we'll see Browne in the WWE someday now that Ronda is a part of the promotion. The WWE seems very keen on bringing former MMA fighters to WWE, and Travis could offer something to the roster if given the chance.
9 9. Dating Nobodies: Ric Flair (Wendy Barlow)
Ric Flair may be the styling and profiling wrestling legend, and though we'd expect 'The Nature Boy' to be dating an A-list celebrity like he has in the past (Halle Berry's said to be one of those celebs), Ric's decided to date someone who's not particularly a celebrity. That woman is Wendy Barlow, and she's relatively unknown to the Sports Entertainment world aside from appearing in WCW for a very short period of time.
Wendy's kept out of the spotlight ever since her brief WCW tenure, and she's only resurfaced in the media for being Flair's fiancee the past couple years. Ric and Wendy are currently engaged, though there's no scheduled wedding date at this point - let's just hope it happens before Flair suffers another health-related scare. I'm sure Ric loves showing off to his fans that he's still got what it takes to pull off attractive women.
8 8. Dating Celebrities: Finn Balor (Cathy Kelley)
One of the more low-key celebrity wrestling couples on this list is current Raw Superstar Finn Balor and on-air WWE personality Cathy Kelley. Though neither Balor or Kelley have confirmed anything, they've been spotted together on numerous occasions. Despite not being an in-ring performer, Cathy Kelley still ranks among the most attractive women in WWE, and Finn's undoubtedly a lucky guy to have been able to attract her.
Sean Waltman has gone on record to comment on their relationship, and he stated that if there was ever someone in WWE that would be a good choice to date, it would be Finn Balor (basically summing up that Finn's an extremely nice guy). Although Balor and Cathy have attempted to keep their dating private, it was inevitable that they'd be photographed together - the paparazzi are everywhere.
7 7. Dating Nobodies: Dwayne Johnson (Lauren Hashian)
Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson is arguably the biggest star in Hollywood today, let alone in the Sports Entertainment world. Johnson has been one of the biggest box office attractions of the past few years, and his star continues to rise to even greater heights each year (so does his already impressive salary). Despite being a megastar, The Rock is currently dating a 'nobody' in the entertainment industry sense, and her name is Lauren Hashian.
Dwayne and Lauren have been dating since 2007 much to the surprise of many fans. Although Lauren's a musician who has dropped a couple of songs, she's still quite unknown to the general public aside from being Johnson's gorgeous girlfriend and the late drummer Sib Hashian's daughter. Despite not marrying, The Rock and Lauren have one daughter together, and they're expecting another child sometime this year.
6 6. Dating Celebrities: Roderick Strong (Marina Shafir)
205 Live WWE Superstar Roderick Strong is currently dating and engaged to MMA fighter Marina Shafir. Though Marina's nowhere near the level of Ronda Rousey (one of her good friends), she's still a well known mixed martial artist, and her record in the octagon stands at 1 win and two losses in her pro career. Roderick Strong and Marina have one child together, and it's clear Shafir has bigger priorities right now with her family over fighting.
Without question Marina is a stunning woman, and Roderick is definitely one lucky fellow. Considering Shafir's good friends Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler are now apart of the WWE, it wouldn't be much of a surprise if Marina joins the company as well. Her MMA career hasn't really been too successful, and I'm sure she'd prefer the slightly less painful career of a WWE Superstar.
5 5. Dating Nobodies: Alexa Bliss (Buddy Murphy)
Now to all the Buddy Murphy fans out there (if there are any), I don't mean any disrespect when I classify Murphy as being a 'nobody' in Sports Entertainment. Since his run with Wesley Blake ended, Buddy's rarely been seen on NXT television, and he's viewed by most fans as nothing more than an enhancement talent.
Murphy's girlfriend on the other hand, Alexa Bliss, is one of the biggest stars of professional wrestling today. She's featured on the WWE's premiere brand Monday Night Raw as the Raw Women's Champion in her second reign. It must be pretty hard for Buddy Murphy to accept Alexa's success in WWE considering she started out as the manager for his tag team with Wesley down in NXT, but he's kept a really positive attitude about it which is inspiring (Bliss being incredibly gorgeous doesn't hurt either).
4 4. Dating Celebrities: John Cena (Nikki Bella)
One of the more high-profile Sports Entertainment couples on this list is none other than John Cena and Nikki Bella. However, with Nikki and John constantly becoming more involved in the Entertainment industry over professional wrestling, they're slowly becoming a Hollywood couple over a wrestling couple. John Cena and Nikki Bella are currently engaged to get married.
However, to those who think it won't last past marriage, you may not be far off from the truth. It has recently been revealed that Cena and Bella are going through a bit of a rough patch right now (as seen on Total Bellas), but John's stated that they intend to work through their problems and continue on with their wedding plans. I'm sure things are amped-up on Total Bellas for entertainment's sake, and I doubt they'd call things off at this point.
3 3. Dating Nobodies: Seth Rollins (Sarah Alesandrelli)
Seth Rollins may have teased that both Sasha Banks and Bayley were interested in him in the past, but all three WWE Superstars have chosen to be with different partners - ironically, all three are dating nobodies in the Entertainment industry. In Seth's case, he's dating the absolutely stunning Sarah Alesandrelli. In Seth Rollins' case, I don't blame him one bit for falling for Sarah, as she blows away many celebrities in the attractiveness department.
Prior to meeting Seth, Alesandrelli used to work as a bartender in Houston, Texas. It's clear her life has improved since getting involved with 'The Architect'. Sarah currently lives with Seth in Davenport, Iowa, and it seems as though their relationship is going smoothly. With Seth's past track record of getting involved with controversial women, Sarah seems like the best decision Rollins has made in the dating department.
2 2. Dating Celebrities: Bubba Ray Dudley (Velvet Sky)
ECW and WWE legend Bubba Ray Dudley is currently dating fellow wrestling celebrity Velvet Sky. Though neither Bubba Ray or Velvet Sky are the biggest stars in pro-wrestling on their own, they're still one of the most high profile wrestling relationships at the moment who have yet to 'tie the knot'. Bubba and Sky have been dating since May 2016, and while they seem to be doing well right now, many fans doubt they'll remain a couple over the long haul.
However for now, Bubba Ray and Velvet Sky are just enjoying life, and they've definitely been going on some lavish dates as seen above. Velvet Sky has since retired from wrestling, and Bubba Ray's done the same following an announcement he made on his Twitter page. Bubba Ray is set be inducted into the WWE Hall Of Fame this year alongside D-Von Dudley.
1 1. Dating Nobodies: Bayley (Aaron Solow)
Former Women's Champion Bayley has chosen to date someone in the wrestling industry named Aaron Solow. Yes, we hear you asking: who? Considering Bayley's quite down to earth, it's doesn't come as quite of a shock that she's dating a very low-key wrestler - though it's still somewhat surprising considering Bayley seems to get along with many of her male co-workers (especially Finn Balor).
However, despite the fact that Aaron's still pretty unknown to the general public, he's actually a wrestler who performs on the Independent circuit frequently. Bayley had first met Aaron when they were training in California with fellow Indie wrestler Jason Styles. Though the WWE haven't signed Solow to a contract yet, he's appeared a few times for the company on 205 Live and NXT (in squash matches of course).
