Triple H seems to gain more influence in WWE by the day and there is no doubt that he has begun to influence the type of wrestlers that the company sign, with NXT opening the door for independent wrestlers to make their mark on the industry in a bigger way. Names such as Kevin Owens, AJ Styles, and Roderick Strong would likely have never been given the opportunities they are getting now had it not been for The Game and he is certainly picking the best of the best.

Hunter has a clear eye for talent and doesn't stick to just one style either, with many big guys coming in alongside smaller wrestlers, and countless top female and tag teams, Hunter seems to be finding all the right people to strengthen the company. He has also been smart in repairing relationships with former WWE wrestlers who had burnt bridges during their departure with Goldberg being the perfect example of someone that Hunter had an influence in bringing back.

However, even though he has more power he does not have complete control with Vince McMahon very much still in the driving seat and the shadow of his wife, Stephanie likely playing a deciding factor in who comes and goes from WWE. Therefore in this list we will look at 10 wrestlers Vince won't allow Hunter to sign, and six that Stephanie won't allow, despite how much Triple H would like to.

16 Vince Won't Let Him: Young Bucks

via twitter.com

The Young Bucks may very well be the best tag team on the planet and their ability to market themselves is second to none, they have promoted independent wrestling to an incredible level and they deserve all the recognition they get. While people complain they don't do storytelling or selling, their YouTube show, Being The Elite completely shuts this idea down. However, the fact Vince was willing to send them a cease and desist for using a too sweet shows he isn't a fan.

The chances are high that Vince simply doesn't get the Young Bucks, but he tends to not like people coming in with gimmicks that he hasn't created himself, but WWE is missing a huge trick if they don't one day bring the brothers in.

15 Vince Won't Let Him: Mr. Kennedy

via wikipedia.org

Mr. Kennedy had all the potential in the world to be a major star in WWE but for various reasons such as injuries, it never came to be for him and he failed to reach the main event levels that he should have achieved. However, Triple H has proven that he is willing to give former talent a chance with the likes of Jinder Mahal and Drew McIntyre getting one more run in the sun and being better than ever, but Vince might not be as forgiving.

The fact Kennedy was released after complaints from Randy Orton and John Cena about him being an unsafe worker, Vince would not want to upset two of his favourite talents by bringing Kennedy back for one more chance.

14 Stephanie Won't Let Him: Kaitlyn

via pholder.com

Kaitlyn recently announced her return to wrestling after taking several years away from the ring following her WWE career and it is a rumoured backstage issue between her and Stephanie McMahon that kicked off her desire to leave. She apparently got on Steph's bad side when she approached her to ask a question while she was talking to somebody else (yes, something as petty as that), and surprise, surprise, just a few weeks later her Divas Championship was gone.

After that, it didn't take long for her to request her release from the company, despite being one of the top stars. Triple H knows how to promote women's wrestling and he may be inclined to bring her back, but only if his wife will allow it.

13 Vince Won't Let Him: John Morrison

via stillrealtous.com

Since leaving WWE, John Morrison has become a much more evolved talent who can not only work an incredible style in the ring but can also back up his actions on the microphone after spending time in acting classes to focus on it.

Morrison was always an exciting wrestler when he was with WWE, but considering that the style the company now produces has moved on so much since his last tenure with WWE, Vince might not see the appeal anymore. He tried hard before to make Morrison a success to zero success and that may very well have soured the boss on what Morrison can offer him, despite the fact that he has worked on the weakest part of his work.

12 Vince Won't Let Him: Zahra Schreiber

via blogspot.com

While Vince McMahon is certainly not shy about edgy content, after all, he created the Attitude Era and oversaw all the storylines that went along with it, he is now focused on putting smiles on peoples faces.

WWE is a family-friendly environment and because of that, Zahra Schreiber is very unlikely to ever be working in WWE. Her behaviour online and infamous pictures of her will ruin any chance of a return. Posing with Nazi memorabilia and making racist remarks online have put her on a blacklist by WWE, hence why they sharply fired her in the first place, and it is unlikely Vince allows a second chance.

11 Stephanie Won't Let Him: Matt Riddle

via sportingnews.com

Triple H has spoken about the former UFC star on numerous occasions, so it is clear that he knows just how good Matt Riddle is, so it isn't a surprise to know that he wants to sign him as soon possible. However, the reason Riddle is no longer part of UFC could very much play a key role in him not reaching WWE. The independent star follows the same path as Rob Van Damn in that he enjoys smoking a certain illegal substance every now and then.

Because of how strict WWE is with its image and substance use policy it is very unlikely that Stephanie will allow Riddle to join until he has proven himself as being able to stay off the stuff and be clean living.

10 Vince Won't Let Him: Paul London

via inquisitr.com

Triple H might be inclined to sign Paul London now that he is fully in charge of 205 Live once again, especially when you consider the rumors that he will be creating cruiserweight tag team championships. London could easily team with his old partner, Brian Kendrick for the show and give the fans a blast of nostalgia, but Vince McMahon would likely be set to put a block on to that, especially if you remember why London was let go in the first place.

During Vince McMahon's planned limousine 'death', all the superstars were straight-faced or looking sad as the boss walked past them on the way to the car, apart from London who was smiling from ear to ear and couldn't be happier, which led to his release, something Vince is unlikely to forgive.

9 Vince Won't Let Him: CM Punk

via cagesideseats.com

Triple H and CM Punk might not have seen eye to eye but there is no doubt that Hunter would love to have him back as he is probably the biggest name other than Daniel Bryan that the company could bring in right now. Punk's return would spark huge interest in WWE as he connected with so many fans and the amount of amazing matches that are waiting for him in WWE simply isn't worth thinking about as it will only make you sad that he isn't employed.

However, Vince and Punk left things on terrible terms and are still involved in a lawsuit with each other so it is incredibly unlikely that he wants to let Punk just waltz back into his company, no matter what the financial success would be.

8 Stephanie Won't Let Him: Michael Elgin

via wikipedia.org

In terms of independent wrestling, Michael Elgin is possibly one of the most controversial names around right now, despite his undeniable talent inside the ring. But it is his controversies that are likely going to see Stephanie put her foot down on a potential signing. The whole situation is a rather complicated one, but one of Elgin's students reportedly assaulted another and the New Japan Pro Wrestling star didn't deal with the situation in the best way.

Because of WWE's women's revolution and the fact that Stephanie has decided to put herself at the forefront of that, it is unlikely she wants to risk ruining all of that hard work just to bring him into the fold.

7 Vince Won't Let Him: Will Ospreay

via wrestlingnews.co

Vince McMahon has an old school way of thinking about wrestling, which isn't a bad thing, but it does mean he doesn't quite have a handle on what the current popular wrestling style is, which is faster, more aerial and full of spots. Now, Vince has a point that this can't happen all the time, but his handling of 205 Live and the fact he tried to make them work a WWE style, instead of their own fast-paced wrestling is one of the reasons why the show hasn't been a hit.

Will Ospreay is arguably the best highflier in the business right now with some of the things he can do boggling the mind, he is simply amazing. Triple H certainly wants to pick him up when he has the chance, but Vince might need convincing of what Ospreay can offer.

6 Vince Won't Let Him: Rosemary

via denofageek.com

Rosemary is one of the best female wrestlers around right now and has a unique personality which would make her stand out against the rest of the women's roster, something that Triple H would certainly be interested in.

However, convincing Vince McMahon might take a little more than just showing him a highlight reel as her gimmick is quite crazy and could be beyond Vince, who has shown with his Woken Matt Hardy work that he hasn't quite got a grip on that sort of character anymore, reducing Matt to a laugh and nothing more. Rosemary would certainly push the boundaries of what female wrestlers in WWE have been allowed to do before and it would be interesting to see whether he would allow the move to happen as she could be a huge hit in WWE.

5 Stephanie Won't Let Him: Joey Ryan

via wikipedia.org

WWE is a family-friendly product, something that is very important to Stephanie McMahon who constantly pushes the company message of 'putting smiles on peoples faces,' and if you have seen Joey Ryan wrestle then you will know exactly why Stephanie won't allow Hunter to sign him.

Ryan undoubtedly has plenty of talent in the ring and has bags of charisma, making him someone that Triple H would no doubt love to sign, but the fact his most popular move involves flipping people off with his "body parts" will make it a tough sell to his wife. Ryan's entire gimmick is based around lewd acts and considering WWE's PG product Stephanie probably won't be giving this one the green light anytime soon until he changes his gimmick.

4 Vince Won't Let Him: Ryback

via youtube.com

Even though by the end of his career the Big Guy wasn't exactly a main event player, it was still a surprise to see Ryback leave the company, as he had always been featured and was pushed very strongly for the vast majority of his run.

Ryback always had the look and physique that Vince liked, but the number of comments that he has made about the company since would likely make him think twice about bringing him back, even if Hunter was willing to forgive them. He has blasted WWE about the pay scale, with the winners getting more than people who lose, even though the show is scripted, and Ryback has made countless claims about storylines he was supposedly going to be in and hasn't painted Vince in the best light at times.

3 Stephanie Won't Let Him: Batista

via wikipedia.org

The Animal Batista has made it very clear on multiple occasions that he would like another run with WWE and to have that run see him face Triple H himself, and considering he is now a major Hollywood star, why hasn't it happened?

Well, Triple H's wife could be the reason behind that, because as much as Hunter and Batista are close friends after spending so much of their careers together, he isn't quite as fond of Stephanie and that feeling is likely mutual. This was made clear when Stephanie had tweeted that her famous slap, which she recently hit on Ronda Rousey was her signature move. Batista responded to this by stating that it was only used to make the male performer look bad without a payoff, harsh words that might have shown true feelings.

2 Vince Won't Let Him: Kazuchika Okada

via wikimedia.org

Recent years have shown that Triple H is clearly a fan of the work that takes place in Japan, with talents such as Hideo Itami and Asuka joining the company, and there is no doubt he is interested in Kazuchika Okada as well.

Okada is one of the best wrestlers on the planet and would be a huge hit in WWE, without a doubt, but Vince McMahon is likely going to take a little convincing on the subject with Hideo failing to make an impact and Shinsuke Nakamura not being the immediate main roster success many hoped he would be. That could be blamed on the booking of both men as much as the work they have done in the ring, but Vince McMahon is known for being tough to impress and these cases might be enough to stop him throwing everything at the Rainmaker.

1 Stephanie Won't Let Him: AJ Lee

via pinterest.com

AJ Lee is one of the most influential women's wrestlers of all time and it is really a huge shame that she isn't part of the company right now as matches against Charlotte Flair, Alexa Bliss and Asuka are bouts that fans really want to see.

However, her personal life is going to put a major block on AJ potentially ever appearing in WWE again, that's if she ever wanted to wrestle in the first place. The fact she is married to CM Punk is something that likely doesn't sit well with WWE, no matter what they say publicly. Punk left WWE on incredibly bad terms and his relationship with Stephanie McMahon was certainly not a good one. This is why she is certain to not want AJ back, with Steph rather focusing on people like Bayley or Sasha Banks.
