Considering the WWE is still widely regarded as being the desired "final destination" for most professional wrestlers, there's absolutely nothing worse to a talent's ears than hearing that dreaded "you're fired!" when they least expect it... Sports entertainment is undoubtedly a grueling sport through and through, and simply making it to the WWE is extremely difficult these days - the competition is enormous.  However, making it to World Wrestling Entertainment is one thing, remaining in the company for any length of time (and in a relevant position) is another challenge all together. Every year, the WWE let go a number of Superstars during their "spring cleaning" event of sorts typically occurring in the late spring or early summer, and usually, there's a couple wrestlers released from all brands - Raw, SmackDown and NXT.

As most of you know, Vince McMahon is still mainly in charge of the WWE's main roster, where as Triple H controls most of NXT. As such, both Vince and Hunter will be faced with some challenging decisions next year, as they will have to decide which wrestlers they should fire to create room for new talent and for possible "budget cuts". With that being said, although getting fired from the WWE was a huge blow back in the old days, considering the Independent wrestling scene is hotter than ever, every single Superstar featured on this list will have an opportunity to reinvigorate their careers if they get released. With that out of the way, let's take a closer look at the following 10 WWE wrestlers Vince McMahon will fire in 2019, and 10 Triple H will fire from NXT.

20 Vince Will Fire In 2019: Dana Brooke

via wwe.com

Out of the WWE main roster's women's division, without question, Dana Brooke is amongst the most likely to be handed release papers in 2019 by Vince McMahon. While Dana Brooke isn't a terrible in-ring performer by any stretch, there's nothing in particular about Dana that sets herself apart from the rest of the pack, hence why Dana has barely been utilized since getting called up to the main roster besides Brooke's storyline with Charlotte Flair and alliance with the "Titus Worldwide" faction.

As well, it doesn't seem as though Stephanie McMahon is very fond of Dana Brooke, because if she were, you can be assured Steph would be on Vince's case to give Dana far more screen time every week (or at least more than the little time Brooke gets right now).

19 Triple H Will Fire From NXT: Heavy Machinery

via wwe.com

NXT's Heavy Machinery (Tucker Knight and Otis Dozovic) are one of the largest tag teams in recent WWE history, but unfortunately, it would be a surprise if they were still employed by WWE by the time 2019 comes to a close... Although Heavy Machinery are a pretty solid duo, neither member has really caught fire with the NXT Universe, and they have basically been floating around without any real direction as of late which showcases Triple H's view on Tucker and Otis.

As well, considering NXT is now home to the dominant duo The War Raiders, the need for Heavy Machinery is slowly but surely fading away. Despite the fact there's a slight chance Vince McMahon would potentially be interested in giving HM a shot on the main roster, if not, Triple H will waste little time releasing the duo - neither member will make it in WWE as solo acts.

18 Vince Will Fire In 2019: Zack Ryder

via wwe.com

For the past two or three years, whenever the WWE's annual "spring cleaning" event draws closer, many fans prepare for the seemingly-inevitable news of Zack Ryder's release. However, much to surprise of most, "The Long Island Iced-Z" has remained with the WWE for far longer than any of us had expected given the companies top executives views on Ryder, but without question, Zack Ryder's time in the spotlight will soon be over...

No longer paired with Mojo Rawley, Zack Ryder has done nothing of note as of late, and it's becoming clear the WWE are simply waiting for an opportune time to let go the former Intercontinental Champion. Zack is undoubtedly a case of a wrestler who "could have been huge" if given the right opportunities, but at this point, all hope is lost in regards to Zack getting pushed.

17 Triple H Will Fire From NXT: Kassius Ohno

via wwe.com

Kassius Ohno, formerly known as the super popular "Indie darling" Chris Hero has been absolutely floundering down in NXT as of late. For the first bit of Kassius' NXT run, he was featured as a prominent top level Superstar, and he was given multiple opportunities at the NXT Championship. However, fast forward a year and a half, and Kassius Ohno couldn't be any lower on the pecking order - it's clear Triple H has lost faith in Ohno.

Perhaps one of the reasons behind Kassius' demotion in NXT is due to his poor physical shape, but on the other hand, Ohno has done little to impress top NXT officials lately despite being a solid worker. The future of Kassius Ohno in WWE is extremely bleak, because while Ohno is a glorified enhancement talent in NXT, things would only get worse once on the main roster. There's a strong possibility that Hunter will fire Ohno long before any main roster talk even comes up...

16 Vince Will Fire In 2019: The Colons

via wwe.com

It's quite surprising in all honesty that The Colons (Primo and Epico) are still employed by the WWE, because they have barely had any screen time on SmackDown Live in what seems like an eternity... It's actually highly probable that many fans thought The Colons had been released by now, but the former Tag Team Champions are still amongst the roster backstage.

In any case, Primo and Epico's time in WWE is slowly but surely coming to a close, because despite being two trustworthy and talented performers, The Colons couldn't be any more irrelevant in 2018 heading into 2019 - the WWE definitely know this fact. Similar to JTG, The Colons have remained on the WWE payroll for far longer than most expected, but 2019 will likely be their last year in the company.

15 Triple H Will Fire From NXT: Fabian Aichner

via twitter.com

When you look at an NXT wrestler like Fabian Aichner, it's probable that the one of the first thoughts that come to mind would be "generic". While Fabian certainly has the size Vince McMahon loves (6'3" and weighing 280 pounds), Aichner couldn't be any more basic in all other departments - Fabian is comparable to past "big man" wrestlers such as Snitsky and Mason Ryan who failed miserably due to their lack of substance.

Since his debut, Fabian Aichner hasn't been utilized very often, and for good reason. It's likely become apparent to Triple H that Fabian has little to offer NXT, hence why Aichner has been used as an enhancement talent as of late to stars such as Ricochet for example. Fabian Aichner probably wouldn't succeed on the main roster either, so it's doubtful Vince would talk Hunter out of releasing the Italian wrestler next year...

14 Vince Will Fire In 2019: Tye Dillinger

via caq.fr

As most fans will attest to, "The Perfect 10" Tye Dillinger unquestionably ranks among the most underrated WWE Superstars currently on the roster. Despite being naturally over with his perfect ten gimmick, Vince McMahon has refused to push Tye in any way, and apparently, WWE management are furious that Dillinger is so over with fans despite the fact they haven't been giving Tye any opportunities to succeed - WWE reportedly believes the catchphrase is irritating...

For nearly the entirety of his main roster career, Tye Dillinger has bee utilized as an enhancement talent, and things don't look to be changing anytime soon. Comparable to Zack Ryder, Tye Dillinger is a WWE Superstar who got over on his own, but the WWE simply haven't taken a liking to him - Dillinger will likely be released next year in 2019, unfortunately.

13 Triple H Will Fire From NXT: Wesley Blake

via ewrestlingnews.com

If this article was written in 2017, Wesley Blake would've undoubtedly been accompanied by his former NXT tag team partner Buddy Murphy on Triple H's "next to be released" list. However, unlike Wesley, Buddy Murphy has worked his tail off over the past year to not only improve tremendously in the ring, but to also get into the best shape of his life - the WWE have rewarded Buddy for his efforts lately, as the Australian is now the Cruiserweight Champion.

Wesley Blake on the other hand hasn't really evolved since his pairing with Buddy, and while Triple H has found something for Blake to do lately alongside Steve Cutler and Jaxson Ryker (The Forgotten Sons), in all honesty, this faction doesn't look to be one that will succeed in NXT or the main roster over the long haul. Blake Murphy could be on the NXT chopping block next year without a doubt.

12 Vince Will Fire In 2019: Mike Kanellis

via wrestlingnews.co

Right from the get-go, many fans believed Mike Kanellis would flop in WWE, and by all means, this has definitely been the case thus far. This is rather unfortunate taking into account the fact Mike is a solid worker in the ring, but Kanellis was doomed right from the start with his cringey love angle gimmick (one that had a very low midcard ceiling). Despite still being a new addition to the WWE main roster, Mike Kanellis has only been utilized a handful of times on television, and it's highly doubtful Vince has been at all impressed with Mike thus far.

If things don't change soon, 2019 will most likely be Mike's final year amongst the WWE main roster, as he truly couldn't be any lower on the pecking order right now. However, Mike's real-life wife Maria Kanellis may be kept around if McMahon feels as though she could add something to the women's division on SmackDown Live...

11 Triple H Will Fire From NXT: Cezar Bononi

via twitter.com

One of the WWE's Performance Center recruits back in 2015, Cezar Bonini has done nothing of note since his debut in May 2017 where he suffered a loss against Aleister Black. Although Cezar is in great shape and looks the part (not to mention he's a solid in-ring worker), it doesn't seem as though Triple H will make Cezar a priority in NXT anytime soon - thus leaving the possibility that Bonini could end up getting released in 2019.

However, it would certainly be a big mistake for Triple H to fire a potential "star in the making" like Cezar before they even give him a fair chance to succeed, because Brazil is firmly behind the upstart. That being said, looking at other international wrestlers that were released despite having potential recently (Mahabali Shera for example), this proves the company could give up on Cezar at any point...

10 Vince Will Fire In 2019: Aiden English

via wwe.com

When one-half of The Vaudevillains Simon Gotch was released last year, most fans had expected Aiden English would immediately follow suit - neither Vaudevillain had any real marketable appeal on their own. However, fast forward a year and a half, and Aiden is still amongst the WWE locker room on SmackDown Live. Aiden was extremely lucky to be included in the "Rusev Day" gimmick, because had English not been paired with Rusev, there's a ninety nine percent guarantee that Aiden would have been released by Vince within short order following Simon's firing.

With that being said, now that Aiden English has turned on Rusev and is no longer associated with "The Bulgarian Brute", the future remains rather bleak for English moving forward following his inevitable upcoming feud with Rusev. It would not be very surprising if Vince ends up firing Aiden next year once he's "cooled off" and is no longer receiving reactions from fans.

9 Triple H Will Fire From NXT: Oney Lorcan

via youtube.com

Despite being talented beyond belief inside the squared circle, NXT's Oney Lorcan is about as "vanilla" or generic as a professional wrestler can be... Since 2016, Oney has been consistently delivering great performances on NXT television regardless of his apparent "jobber" status, but unfortunately, all enhancement talent in WWE have a shelf-life. Although Oney Lorcan has helped bring some of NXT's brightest prospects to some fantastic matches, Oney has no future in the WWE, especially not on the main roster with Vince McMahon at the helm.

As some of you are bound to agree, Oney's "shelf-life" in NXT is slowly coming to an end, and 2019 could very well be Lorcan's last full-time year with the company - Triple H could undoubtedly make better use of the spot on the roster. With that being said, Oney Lorcan has been an above average jobber, and he should have no trouble getting solid bookings on the Indies once his inevitable firing occurs...

8 Vince Will Fire In 2019: Apollo Crews

via caq.fr

In recent memory, Apollo Crews has to rank among the most underwhelming NXT to main roster transitions. Called up from NXT far too early, Apollo Crews has struggled to stay afloat in WWE the past couple years despite his push early on where he defeated the likes of Sheamus. Taking a look at Apollo Crews, the man formerly known as "Uhaa Nation" undoubtedly looks and wrestles the part, but the one thing Apollo lacks (which is extremely important) is charisma and a character fans can get invested in.

Up to this point, Apollo has proven he is unable to get over and establish a connection with the WWE Universe. Apollo Crews is quite simply filling a roster spot with his affiliation to Titus Worldwide, but don't expect that to remain the case for much longer. It shouldn't come as a shock if Apollo is let go in 2019, and in our opinion, this will probably benefit Apollo's career greatly considering he'll have an opportunity for a "career resurgence".

7 Triple H Will Fire From NXT: Danny Burch

via wwe.com

Comparable to the infamous Oney Lorcan, Danny Burch is one of NXT's longest lasting jobbers or enhancement talents. Stemming all the way back to 2015, Danny has been performing sporadically for NXT to get up and coming prospects over (names such as Kevin Owens, Tommaso Ciampa and Andrade Cien Almas), and by all means, Danny has done his job well taking into account the fact Burch is a solid in-ring wrestler.

However, beyond Danny's wrestling ability, there is little else about Burch that has any value to the WWE, and in all honesty, Danny Burch is quite simply far too generic to succeed in the WWE now a days. Although it's doubtful Vince or Triple H would push Danny Burch under any circumstances, his age (36) undoubtedly seals the deal. While Danny is signed to a full-time deal with NXT as of this year, it can be guaranteed that it's a "rolling contract" which expire within a year...

6 Vince Will Fire In 2019: Curt Hawkins

via wwe.com

Throughout history, the WWE has relied on employing "jobbers" or enhancement talent to get their top Superstars over, and this has remained the case to this very day. Among the low ranking wrestlers on the WWE main roster who are simply employed to put over others, Curt Hawkins is unquestionably at the top of that list. The man who boasts an impressive losing streak has done absolutely nothing noteworthy since his return to the company in 2016, and by all means, his "Face The Facts" gimmick has failed miserably hence why he has been relegated to a glorified jobber position.

As an in-ring performer, Curt Hawkins is quite solid, but aside from that, Curt offers next to nothing on the WWE main roster besides a filled spot. However, Vince McMahon likes to have a couple low-carders on each roster (SmackDown and Raw), but at the same time, McMahon doesn't like to keep the same jobbers for very long - 2019 could potentially be Curt's last in WWE.

5 Triple H Will Fire From NXT: Angelo Dawkins

via wwe.com

Now this entry may come as a bit of a surprise to some of you guys, but there's a strong possibility that Angelo Dawkins could very well be on Triple H's list of "future NXT firings" for 2019... While Angelo has found some success in WWE as one-half of The Street Profits alongside Montez Ford, it has become clear that Angelo is simply a "stepping stone" or a helping hand to continue the progression of Montez in NXT - a bright up and comer who has a definite future on the WWE's main roster.

The Street Profits will undoubtedly split up in the not-so-distant future (they are not a long-lasting kind of duo), and without question, Montez will be the one setting off to greener pastures in WWE where as Angelo Dawkins could easily find himself released. Despite the fact that Angelo's a powerful wrestler in his own right, he doesn't possess the marketable look Vince seeks in top tier Superstars.

4 Vince Will Fire In 2019: Sin Cara

via twitter.com

Despite the clear truth that the "Sin Cara" character failed miserably in WWE, Vince McMahon has been stubborn in keeping the flopped gimmick alive with the second version, Hunico. For much of the last three or four years, Sin Cara has been nothing more than a filler wrestler (mainly utilized as an enhancement talent), and the only logical reason behind Vince's choice to keep Hunico around was the overall lack of Mexican wrestlers on the roster - Alberto Del Rio and Rey Mysterio were gone.

However, considering the WWE main roster has now been blessed with the presence of Andrade "Cien" Almas, the need for Sin Cara is all but gone. If you can believe, according to various sources, Sin Cara is on a $700,000+ salary per year, and by all means, that is absolutely insane. Vince McMahon will likely come to his senses and finally fire Sin Cara next year in 2019 to free up some money and make room for new talent.

3 Triple H Will Fire From NXT: Raul Mendoza

via wwe.com

Despite being a truly gifted in-ring performer, Raul Mendoza's time in NXT will soon be over if Triple H has anything to say about it. For much of the past year and a half, Raul Mendoza has done nothing of significance down in NXT, and he has mainly been utilized as a glorified enhancement talent - most recently, to put over Lars Sullivan (one of Vince's future "pet projects").

It doesn't seem as though Triple H has any long-term plans for Raul in NXT, and while Mendoza could be a good fit for 205 Live, it wouldn't be surprising in the slightest if Raul's among the WWE talent released next year in 2019. However, Raul Mendoza is still very young at 27 years old, so if he's able to reinvigorate his career elsewhere, the WWE door will always be open for such a talented worker.

2 Vince Will Fire In 2019: No Way Jose

via wwe.com

Many WWE fans were proven right with the latest news regarding recent WWE main roster call-up No Way Jose, as it has been reported that Vince McMahon has already called it quits and given up on Jose. It's unknown up to this point what the WWE's long-term plans were for No Way Jose, because in all honesty, Jose was fairly irrelevant a couple weeks into his debut...

Without question, there is definitely a similarity between No Way Jose and former WWE wrestler Adam Rose, because both talents had similar fun loving partying gimmicks, and not surprisingly, Vince gave up on both of them - these kinds of gimmicks never last long in WWE as we have been proven time and time again. Although No Way Jose is a decent wrestler, there really isn't anything too special about Jose, and once he's inevitably released (most likely sometime in early 2019), the WWE won't be losing much at all.

1 Triple H Will Fire From NXT: Kona Reeves

via wwe.com

One of the most lackluster personas in NXT right now would unquestionably have to be the cocky and arrogant heel Kona "The Finest" Reeves, because despite Hunter's best efforts, Reeves has failed to get himself over - even as a heel. upon first inspection, there isn't much about Kona Reeves that screams future "star in the making" by any stretch, and without a doubt, Kona's gimmick would flop horrendously on the WWE main roster.

For those unaware, Kona Reeves has been employed by the WWE since 2014, and up to this point, nothing significantly important has come out of his run - many fans are already firmly against the newly repackaged Kona Reeves. It's truly only a matter of time before Triple H gives up on Kona much like Vince gave up on No Way Jose, and a release sometime in 2019 is almost inevitable...
