Some superstars were destined for greatness from the moment they stepped into the ring, while others started off on the wrong foot. Debuting with a victory or a defeat does not ensure that you can have a good or bad career, since the first matches of a wrestler are a matter of adaptation and even luck.

Obviously, starting with a victory in WWE has always been the ideal, but it's not really a big deal. Some of these superstars were not even a shadow of who they eventually became in terms of talent and experience. Still, most showed their skills from their first match.

10 Win: The Rock

The Rock won in his WWE debut

The Rock was one of the most amazing wrestlers in his prime and he always gave the fans a great show. The eight-time World Champion started his career in the right way, picking up wins.

Dwayne Johnson’s debut was on March 10, 1996, in Texas, when he defeated The Brooklyn Brawler at a WWF Superstars TV Taping. That would be the beginning of a really successful career. He'd also win his televised debut as the sole survivor at Survivor Series 1996.

9 Loss: John Cena

Young John Cena

The fabulous John Cena debuted on October 10, 2000, at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, it was a WWF Sunday Night Heat dark match against Mickey Henderson. Cena (at that time he was known as Prototype) lost that match.

However, this was irrelevant to the trajectory of "Face That Runs The Place" since everyone knows that he became one of the best wrestlers in history. In fact, many believe that there is no one better. His first televised loss was much more famous as he fell to Kurt Angle in a spirited effort.

8 Win: Randy Orton

Randy Orton is one of the most experienced wrestlers in the industry. He has been loved by many for practically the entire millennium, but he also has a fair amount of people who hate him as he has spent a lot of time being something like a villain.

The Legend Killer began his career with a great victory against Flash Flanagan in less than five minutes, in a dark match that took place on April 16, 2001. However, Orton also won his televised debut against Hardcore Holly.

7 Loss: Edge

Edge debut

On May 10, 1996, in Ontario, Canada, Edge (then known as Sexton Hardcastle) made his debut against Bob Holly on the WWF House Show. The match ended with a relatively easy win for Holly. Nevertheless, he defeated Jose Estrada in his first televised match.

"Rated R Superstar" already had experience in FAME, IWA, MWCW, and ICW, but still only managed to win one of his first six matches in the old WWE. It took some time for this guy to become the mighty Edge, the incredible wrestler who accomplished so much.

6 Win: Trish Stratus

Trish Stratus ready to fight

Trish Stratus is considered by many to be the best female wrestler in the history of the company, she spent a long time at the top of the women's division and achieved extraordinary things.

Her debut was on June 20, 2000, on SmackDown, when she teamed up with Albert and Test to defeat The Hardy Boyz (Jeff Hardy and Matt Hardy) and Lita in four minutes and 33 seconds. It was there that Trish Stratus began building one of the most formidable careers in the history of the women's division.

5 Loss: Becky Lynch

Becky Lynch first steps in WWE

Becky Lynch lost in her NXT debut match and in her main roster debut match. On November 7, 2013, the Irish star teamed up with Veronica Lane and lost against Bayley and Paige in her first NXT match. On March 28, 2015, she lost to Alexa Bliss at WWE WrestleMania Axxess.

Nevertheless, these defeats meant nothing to “The Man,” who became a true icon of the industry and was at the top of the women's division for a long time.

4 Win: Roman Reigns

Roman Reigns debut

Currently, Roman Reigns is one of the top stars in the world. Reigns has had a long history and deserves to be where he is. To remember his debut, fans must go back to July 20, 2012, when Leakee (Roman's old name) defeated Curt Hawkins in Mississippi.

It is worth mentioning that he also debuted with victory in NXT, defeating Ricardo Rodriguez in December 2011. From his debut, The Big Dog showed that he had a lot of talent.

3 Loss: Kane

Young Kane

Kane had to work very hard for the company to put him in winning positions. In his early years, he lost many matches and it took a long time for the Big Red Machine to begin to stand out in the ring.

His debut was on August 15, 1995, in a dark match against none other than Bret Hart, who of course won the match. 12 days later Isaac Yankem DDS (Kane) faced Bret Hart again at SummerSlam but the result of the match was the same.

2 Win: Triple H

Triple H Had a win in his debut

On April 25, 1995, Triple H (back then better known as Hunter Hearst Helmsley) defeated Sonny Rogers during an episode of WWF Superstars. That was his first match with the WWE.

25 years later, Triple H is at the top behind the scenes. Now, he has 23 championships and he is the right hand of the boss Vince McMahon. The Game has given everything for the industry, and undoubtedly, he is a true WWE legend.

1 Loss: Seth Rollins

Seth Rollins Debut

Seth Rollins is one of the most popular and successful wrestlers today. It makes sense given how far back his career goes on the independent scene and his high level of talent.

The "Monday Night Messiah" debuted on a dark match on December 27, 2011, on WWE Friday Night SmackDown where he lost to Skip Sheffield. Earlier that month, he had lost in his NXT debut against Antonio Cesaro. Rollins did not start his WWE career on the right foot, but he still managed to become one of the best wrestlers of the last decade.
