It is hard to imagine WWE without NXT. The developmental roster has thrived under the direction of Triple H, becoming known for its showcase of stellar matches and acquisition of indie talent. Still, before NXT there was FCW.

Florida Championship Wrestling was WWE's undeveloped developmental. It was the springboard for many wrestlers' careers, some of whom went on to have decorated careers with WWE and others who either left the company or fell into obscurity. Here are ten superstars who held titles in FCW before winning gold on the main roster.

10 Naomi

Initially, Naomi struggled to find her footing on the main roster, entering the division during a period where it was considered an afterthought. She won her first title at Elimination Chamber 2017, defeating Alexa Bliss for the SmackDown Women's Championship. Though she had to vacate the title due to injury soon after, Naomi captured the strap once more at WrestleMania 33.

However, this was not Naomi's first championship win with WWE. The former Women's Champion was also the inaugural FCW Divas Champion, defeating Serena in the finals of a two-month tournament.

9 Seth Rollins

Seth Rollins is a main roster Grand Slam champion. The Beastslayer has won every available title in WWE, including the Universal Championship, Intercontinental Championship, and even the NXT Championship, becoming the inaugural champion while doing so.

It's little surprise to know that the Architect is also an FCW Grand Slam champion. He's won the Florida Heavyweight Championship, the Florida Tag Team Championships, and the Jack Brisco 15 Championship. The Architect truly has dominated WWE during his time with the company.

8 AJ Lee

AJ Lee signed a contract with WWE in 2009 and wrestled for FCW for a subsequent two years, before participating in the third season of NXT and moving to the main roster. The three-time Divas Champion held both titles in the FCW women's division: the FCW Divas Championship and the  coveted Queen of FCW crown.

She was the first superstar to win both championships available to the FCW women, despite one of those championships technically being a tiara. Still, it was an important launching point for the Black Widow and indicated larger accomplishments yet to come.

7 The Usos

One of the most decorated tag teams in WWE history, The Usos have ruled the tag team division in recent years. The brotherly duo, sons of Attitude Era star Rikishi, has won the Tag Team Championships six times during their career, becoming the first team to win both the Raw and SmackDown titles.

The Usos debuted in FCW in 2009, where they also captured the FCW Tag Team Championships. They wrestled for developmental for a year before being called up to the main roster.

6 Xavier Woods

The New Day member signed a contract with WWE in 2010, wrestling for developmental before and after it was rebranded as NXT. Prior to this, Woods also worked for Total Nonstop Action Wrestling, where he won the TNA Tag Team titles while paired with Jay Lethal — who happened to be fellow FCW alumni AJ Lee's previous trainer and manager.

Alongside Wes Brisco, Woods won the FCW Tag Team Championships, an indication of the success he later found on the roster . The New Day currently holds the SmackDown Tag Team titles, as well as the record for longest reign with the belts.

5 Big E Langston

Xavier Woods isn't the only member of the New Day to have passed through the halls of FCW. Big E Langston, another half of the current SmackDown tag champs, signed a contract with WWE in 2009 and wrestled for FCW until it was rebranded.

During his tenure, he won the FCW Tag Team Championships along with Calvin Raines. Langston found further success after FCW became NXT, becoming the second superstar after Seth Rollins to hold the NXT Championship.

4 Bray Wyatt

Before he was the Fiend and before he was the Eater of Worlds, Bray Wyatt wrestled for Florida Championship Wrestling under the name of Husky Harris. The former WWE Champion won the FCW Tag Team Championships alongside his brother Bo Dallas, both superstars third-generation wrestling prodigies.

The enigmatic former leader of the Wyatt family also had a brief stint on the main roster as Husky Harris, wrestling with underdog faction The Nexus. Considering how his latest gimmick as the Fiend has been with fans, it seems likely that he will once again capture gold in WWE soon — perhaps even challenging for Seth Rollins' Universal Championship.

3 Roman Reigns

The Big Dog is arguably WWE's top star and one of the biggest names in the entire company. Reigns found success and notoriety from his time with Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose as The Shield, and like his former teammates, Reigns began his career with a stint in FCW.

Reigns wrestled under the name Leakee during this period, winning the FCW Tag Team Championships with Mike Dalton as well as challenging Leo Kruger (also known as Adam Rose) for the Florida Heavyweight Championship unsuccessfully. Given the drastically different directions their characters went upon moving to the main roster, it remains a bizarre fact that Adam Rose once beat Roman Reigns for a heavyweight title belt.

2 Drew McIntyre

Drew McIntyre had a disappointing first run in WWE. The Scottish Psychopath wrestled extensively on the independent circuit, making a name for himself and developing his craft before moving to FCW in 2007. He won the FCW Tag Team Championships after partnering with Stu Sanders, performing under the name The Empire.

McIntyre had a strange succession of WWE runs, leaving the company in 2014 to go back to the indies before debuting again on NXT in 2017.

1 Sheamus

The Celtic Warrior began his WWE career in its former developmental domain, after signing his contract with the company in 2006 following a successful run on the indie circuit. He defeated his former tag team partner Jake Hager for the Florida Heavyweight Championship, losing the title in December that also involved former FCW star Drew McIntyre.

Sheamus wrestled in developmental as Sheamus O'Shaunessy, but he dropped his last name and gained a title belt after moving to the main roster. He is now a multi-winning world champion.
