Zack Ryder was injured during a taping of Main Event, meaning he will miss The Greatest Royal Rumble.

This Friday, April 27th, WWE will be holding the Greatest Royal Rumble pay-per-view event at the King Abdullah Sports City's King Abdullah International Stadium in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

The event will include wrestlers from both the Raw and SmackDown brands and will be broadcasted live at noon eastern time in the United States.

Unfortunately for WWE veteran Zack Ryder, he will not be able to attend. On Tuesday, he announced on Twitter that he suffered a knee injury during a dark match against Mike Kanellis during a taping of Main Event.

Ryder just moved from SmackDown Live to Raw last week, and we're sure this isn't how he imagined things would go heading into the Greatest Royal Rumble event.

There is a chance that Ryder's MRI will come back clean, but it seems unlikely that he'll wrestle in the 50-man Greatest Royal Rumble event. If anything, WWE will want to keep him out as a precaution.

The 32-year-old Ryder has been with WWE since 2005 after making his debut on SmackDown. It appeared as though the company is looking to have him start something new on Raw, but that will have to wait now that he's dealing with an injured knee.

Ryder isn't a stranger to knee injuries, however. He suffered one back in December of 2016 after tearing his ACL.  That knee injury ended up having him miss six months of action.

The biggest moment so far in Ryder's career had to be when he won the Intercontinental Championship at WrestleMania 32. Unfortunately, The Miz took the title from him the next night on Raw.

Hopefully, Ryder's knee injury won't keep him out of the ring too long. He's still a young wrestler and should be able to bounce back without a problem.

It will also be interesting to see how Ryder's injury changes up WWE's plans for Raw if he has to miss an extended period of time. They could have a hard time finding a role for him if he has to miss several months of action.
