WWE has revealed an almost full slate of PPV dates for 2022, confirming WrestleMania will be a two-night event for the third year in a row.Outside of WrestleMania and some over tentpole events throughout the year, WWE usually keeps its cards close to its chest when it comes to PPV names and firm dates. The company has taken a massive step outside of its comfort zone in that regard today, revealing its entire PPV slate for 2022.

Two-Night WrestleMania

The biggest takeaway from the schedule is that WrestleMania 38 will be a two-night event for the third year in a row. WWE trialed the format during the pandemic when it was forced to run WrestleMania 36 in an empty Performance Center. That proved to be so popular that it did the same again for WrestleMania 37, and it now appears that will be the norm going forward.

British fans will notice that despite rumors earlier this year, SummerSlam will not be coming to the UK. WWE's second-biggest show of the year is headed to Nashville. There is hope for fans waiting to get a big WWE show on their shores in 2022 though. SummerSlam will take place on July 30, far earlier than usual. That appears to be due to the fact a yet-to-be-named PPV will be taking place on either September 3 or 4.

Give The UK A PPV

Not only is the name of the PPV not confirmed in the press release, but there's also no mention of where it will be. It's possible that's the weekend reserved for a show in the UK. Elsewhere, while not listed, the release makes mention of unlisted PPVs taking place in February and October. Those will likely be WWE's two annual Saudi Arabian shows. It's also encouraging to see other PPVs will not be taking place back in the US during those months, crowding the calendar.

Although there are 11 shows in total when accounting for the unlisted Saudi shows, it actually looks like a far more manageable schedule for fans compared to the norm. Nothing in March as WWE builds to WrestleMania, nothing in August thanks to an early SummerSlam, and no show in December. That is also the case this year as WWE will be kicking off 2022 with a New Year's Day PPV on January 1.
