WWE have tried out plenty of concepts over the years, with the 24/7 Title being one of the newest prizes added to the company’s list of belts. Overall, it must go down as a big failure given how it was booked as time went on, with the company giving it barely any attention or creativity.

Nikki Cross was the last ever champion, with her recently dumping the belt in the trash, ending its time in WWE for good. It has a very peculiar lineage, with plenty of silly facts and figures which adds to the belt’s ridiculous and wacky history.

10 Four-Second Reign

Tucker-Knight

Due to the 24/7 Title being eligible to be won around the clock, it had led to plenty of quite short reigns, with the title flip flopping between wrestlers multiple times on the same night.

The shortest ever reign for the 24/7 Title came when Tucker won the title from Drew Gulak on an episode of Raw. He was immediately rolled up and pinned again, ending his reign at just four seconds. This would prove to be an impossible record to break throughout the rest of the title’s run.

9 24/7 Rule Has Been Suspended

Elias Cropped

Despite the title supposedly getting defended 24/7, the rules of the title have at times been suspended. For instance, Shane McMahon suspended the rules which allowed Elias to remain as 24/7 Champion throughout a SmackDown main event. In addition, the belt has sometimes been defended in the ring, with the rules suspended to ensure no one interferes.

For the belt to literally be named the “24/7 Championship”, it did feel odd for the rules of the title to be suspended at times.

8 The Title Was Bought By Ted DiBiase

Fans will be aware of Ted DiBiase’s WWE Championship reign which didn’t end up counting. “The Million Dollar Man” bought the title instead of winning it, in what was a unique way to win the top prize.

However, DiBiase was stripped and the reign was nullified. However, one reign which did count was his time holding the 24/7 Title, when he bought the belt from Alundra Blayze, who was seconds away from throwing it in the trash.

7 39,000 Feet Title Change

Back in the early days of the 27/4 Title, WWE got quite creative with how they booked title changes, with golf courses and airports being among the places in which wrestlers fought for the prize.

One of the more unique changes took place 39,000 feet above the Red Sea, when R-Truth pinned a sleeping Jinder Mahal to become champion.

6 Crazy Non-Wrestler Winners

The 24/7 Championship has been fun at times, with WWE sometimes even crowning non-wrestlers or retired superstars with the gold, leaving a legacy which has seen some truly bizarre champions.

5 Title Has Changed Via Exchange

Ted DiBiase buying the 24/7 Title isn’t the only unique way in which the belt has changed hands. Bad Bunny reigned as the 24/7 Champion for a little while. R-Truth approached him, but instead of trying to pin him, Truth came up with a different way of getting the gold back.

Truth brought some “Stone Cold” Steve Austin memorabilia to Bad Bunny, offering him a trade for the championship which was accepted. This protected Bad Bunny, but it did make the title look like a prop.

4 Longest Reign Was 112 Days

WWE Reginald

As mentioned, there have been many short reigns for the 24/7 Championship, however there have at times been some surprisingly long reigns too, despite the 24/7 ruling.

Reggie held the title for a staggering 112 days - longer than some wrestlers hold actual titles with meaning. He defeated Akira Tozawa on the July 19th episode of Raw in 2021, and carried it until November, evading his opponents by running around the arena and using his parkour and gymnastic skills.

3 Heaviest Champion - The Revival

The Revival WWE 24 7 Champion

When looking at records for championships in wrestling, there is often a look at who the heaviest champion is. For the 24/7 Championship, the heaviest champion came when The Revival won the belt at the exact same time.

They were co-winners of the title, with their weight collectively adding together as 446 pounds. Only Scott Dawson would get pinned though to lose it, when he was defeated by R-Truth.

2 Pat Patterson Is The Oldest Champion

Pat Patterson’s time of winning gold seemed to be over many years ago, but in a shock, he would become a champion in the year of 2019 at 78 years of age. On the Raw Reunion episode of Raw, Patterson took advantage of The Boogeyman going after champion Drake Maverick, pinning him to win.

However, his long-time friend Gerald Brisco laid him out backstage later on in the night to take the title from him. It was a fun moment on what was otherwise quite an underwhelming episode of Raw.

1 R-Truth Has 54 Reigns

R-Truth 24/7 Champion

It felt for a time as though the tally of R-Truth’s 24/7 Title reigns would become never-ending. However, with the title now retired, Truth’s number of reigns halted at a bonkers 54 reigns.

Much of this was due to lazy booking, but some of it was down to how strong Truth was with the belt. Technically, Truth is now the most decorated wrestler in WWE history, though fans would be forgiven if they decided to completely ignore Truth’s time as 24/7 Champion when looking at superstars at their title wins.
