We now know the name of the highly-anticipated WWE pay-per-view that will be held at Principality Stadium in Cardiff, Wales on Sept. 3.

On Friday evening, WWE announced that the event will be called "Clash at the Castle". Tickets will be going on sale on May 20. This will mark the first WWE pay-per-view to take place inside the United Kingdom since the SummerSlam 1992 pay-per-view. That show was held inside the iconic Wembley Stadium in London, England.

The next WWE pay-per-view, WrestleMania Backlash, will be held on May 8 at the Dunkin' Donuts Center in Providence, Rhode Island. From July 2 to Sept. 3, WWE will have a rather busy pay-per-view schedule. For starters, Money in the Bank 2022 will take place at Allegiant Stadium in Paradise, Nevada on July 2. Four weeks later, Nissan Stadium in Nashville, Tennessee will hold the marquee SummerSlam 2022 pay-per-view.

Clash at the Castle will then be held on Sept. 3, and it's widely believed that WWE will also run another event in Saudi Arabia at some point in October.

WWE Clash at the Castle

There is speculation that world heavyweight champion boxer Tyson Fury could make an appearance at Clash at the Castle, but nothing has been confirmed. Drew McIntyre has made it clear that he would like to challenge Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns at the Sept. 3 pay-per-view. McIntyre vs. Reigns could very well be the main event for this show, but we'll have to wait and see how it all plays out.

Expect WWE To Stack Up The Card For Clash at the Castle

Clash at the Castle will be the first WWE PPV in the UK in three decades. WWE has a huge following in the United Kingdom, and we should expect the company to load up the card for this event. Principality Stadium has a capacity of 74,5000, so WWE will have to make the card exciting in order to sell that many tickets. Bringing in a massive star like Fury would obviously go a long way in accomplishing that goal.
