Betrayals have been a common scene in WWE over the years, and there are multiple classic instances of WWE stars double-crossing their partners, allies, brothers and even own sons and daughters. The fans will always remember the shocking betrayals like Shawn Michaels attacking Marty Jannetty, Evolution turning on Randy Orton, The Shield's implosion and many more. But there are certain moments that might've missed making the same impact as the others and got lost over the years.

With that said, let's take a trip down memory lane and look at ten forgotten betrayals that took place in WWE over the years.

10 The Big Show's Bragging Rights Betrayal

The Big Show and heel turns are a never-ending love story as the fans can't recall how many times The World's Largest Athlete has embraced the dark side throughout his career.

One such instance came at the SmackDown vs. Raw main event at the 2009 Bragging Rights PPV. The Big Show entered the match as part of Team Raw and the closing moments of the contest saw Big Show turning on his teammates and attacking Kofi Kingston and Triple H. Chris Jericho of Team SmackDown took advantage of the situation and pinned Kingston to get the victory for the blue brand.

9 The Hype Bros Implode

Mojo Rawley and Zacky Ryder

Zack Ryder and Mojo Rawley formed The Hype Bros for the first time in NXT in 2015 and had a brief run together in the developmental brand, and even competed for the NXT Tag Team Championships.

The team split up for a while as Ryder continued to perform on the main roster as Rawley stayed in NXT. However, Mojo Rawley got drafted to SmackDown in 2016 and reunited with his former partner by saving him from a post-match beat down at the hands of Rusev. They continued to team up and looked good for a while until Mojo Rawley turned heel in November 2017 by attacking Ryder to disband the team. They took on each other in a couple of matches, but nothing came out of that story as both superstars got released from WWE one after the other.

8 Summer Rae Dumps Rusev

After Rusev dumped his on-screen manager Lana and replaced her with Summer Rae in 2015, Lana sided with Dolph Ziggler and started a rivalry with Rusev and Rae.

The storyline was going well until it hit a roadblock after the news of Rusev and Lana's real-life engagement got leaked online. Lana confirmed the online reports, which ruined everything. WWE had to end the storyline by having Rusev lose to Ryback in a squash match and later get dumped by Summer Rae. Rae delivered a scathing promo on Rusev and slapped him for good measure to end their relationship for good.

League of nations attack Wade Barrett

Rusev, Wade Barrett, Sheamus, and Alberto Del Rio joined forces to form The League of Nations stable in 2015 and established themselves as a heel anti-US, anti-Roman Reigns group. The superstars formed the group when Sheamus was the WWE Champion and Alberto Del Rio was the United States Champion. Apart from being a team, they also had individual feuds throughout their time together.

After multiple failed attempts to win the tag team titles from The New Day, The League of Nations got humiliated at WrestleMania 32 by Stone Cold Steve Austin, Shawn Michaels and Mick Foley. They once again lost a tag team title match against The New Day, and following the loss, the rest of the group singled out Wade Barrett as the group's weak link and attacked him before kicking him off the team.

6 The End Of The Prime Time Players

Titus O'Neil and Darren Young teamed up to form The Prime Time Players in 2012 and quickly went on to become one of the most entertaining tag teams on the roster. They made their main roster debuts by defeating The Usos and had a brief undefeated streak before losing to tag team champions Kofi Kingston and R-Truth.

They continued to perform as a team and chased the WWE Tag Team Championships but weren't successful in their attempts. However, their alliance came to an end on the January 31, 2014, episode of SmackDown, after Darren young got pinned in a tag team match against Ryback and Curtis Axel. Titus O'Neil turned heel and unleashed a vicious attack on his partner after the match, disbanding the team for the first time in the process.

5 LayCool No More

Michelle McCool vs Layla

LayCool was one of the most successful tag teams in WWE history as Michelle McCool and Layla went on to achieve huge success at a time when the female superstars didn't get the same opportunities as the current women's division.

They went on to win multiple women's championships and also unified the Divas and Women's Championships. They looked strong throughout their time as a team, until they showed signs of dissension in 2011. Michelle McCool attacked Layla after a therapy session segment on the April 22, 2011, episode of SmackDown, ending their partnership.

4 Batista Turning On Rey Mysterio

After the shocking demise of their friend Eddie Guerrero, Rey Mysterio and Batista joined forces and won the WWE Tag Team Championships and also had their separate runs with the World Heavyweight Championship.

However, the two showed signs of falling out after Mysterio broke up Batista's pin on The Undertaker in a fatal-four-way match for the World Heavyweight Championship at Bragging Rights 2009. After the match, Batista brutally attacked Mysterio claiming that he's tired of coming so close only to get stabbed in the back.

3 Cody Rhodes Betrays Hardcore Holly

Cody Rhodes is making the headlines on a weekly basis after he made his return to WWE at WrestleMania 38. His original WWE run between 2006 and 2016 started on a high note but ended in a lackluster way after WWE forced him to portray the Stardust character.

After he made his main roster debut in July 2007, he soon started teaming up with Hardcore Holly and went on to win the World Tag Team Championship with him. However, when Ted DiBiase started feuding with the duo and challenged them for the titles at the 2008 Night of Champions PPV with a mystery partner. Cody Rhodes revealed himself as DiBiase's partner and turned on Holly, and became a 2-time tag team champion in the process.

2 Mick Foley Turning On Tommy Dreamer & Terry Funk

After his nasty feud against Edge led to their infamous hardcore match at WrestleMania 22, Mick Foley once again took on The Rated R Superstar in a triple-threat hardcore match along with Tommy Dreamer on the May 8, 2006, episode of Raw.

However, Foley did the unthinkable by attacking Dreamer and aligned himself with his former rival Edge. Terry Funk confronted Foley the following week on Raw about the assault on Dreamer, and Foley turned on him as well and attacked him along with Edge.

1 Viscera Betrays Lilian Garcia

Lilian Garcia found herself in the company of The World's Largest Love Machine Viscera in 2005 as he tried to woo the ring announcer on a weekly basis. After some hesitation, Garcia reciprocated Viscera's feelings and ended up proposing to him on live television.

Their segment took place at the 2005 Vengeance PPV, where Garcia asked Viscera to marry her. But before he could respond to the proposal, The Godfather interrupted with his Ho-Train, and advised Viscera about the life he would miss out if he got married to Garcia. Viscera showed no signs of hesitation as he left with The Godfather and his Ho-Train leaving a heartbroken Lilian Garcia crying in the ring.
