Paul Wight made a name for himself when he defeated Hulk Hogan for the WCW World Heavyweight Championship at the age of 23 in his debut match as The Giant. Wight jumped ship to WWE in February 1999, and he was repackaged as Big Show. It seemed increasingly likely that Show was going to retire as a WWE employee but he ended his two-decade association with WWE by joining AEW in 2021.
