Bret Hart is the "Best there is, Best there was, and the Best there ever will be." It's hard to argue Hart's points as he is an exceptional in-ring competitor and one of the best technical wrestlers out there. Hart featured regularly on Raw over the years, and he was still functioning at the peak of his powers during his run as WWE Champion when he was a heel in 1997.

Hart's final matches on Raw were spread over a large period. The majority took place in 1997, but he competed in a couple of matches on Raw in 2010 and for the final time in 2011 before he retired from in-ring competition for good. Some of the Hitman's final matches on Raw were excellent encounters, and others were typical TV matches.

10 Bret Hart & John Cena Vs. Ricardo Rodriguez & Alberto Del Rio - 9/12/11

Bret Hart competed in a WWE ring for the final time on the September 12, 2011 edition of Raw in Canada's capital of Ottawa. Hart teamed up with John Cena, and their opponents were the reigning WWE Champion Alberto Del Rio and his personal ring announcer Ricardo Rodriguez.

As expected, this wasn't going to be a high-level match. Del Rio left Rodriguez to his own devices as he retreated to the locker room. Hart picked up the win as he applied the sharpshooter on Rodriguez with the Canadian fans delighted with the outcome.

9 Bret Hart & John Cena Vs. Chris Jericho & Edge - 8/9/10

Four former World Champions were in tag team action when Bret Hart and John Cena were on the same side, and they clashed with former Unified WWE Tag Team Champions Chris Jericho and Edge. This was a lumberjack match with members of the Nexus surrounding the ring.

The Hitman wasn't involved in this match as Cena did all the fighting himself. The Nexus attacked Cena, but the match finished as a no-contest with a massive brawl taking place.

8 Bret Hart Vs. The Miz - 5/17/10

Bret Hart challenged The Miz for the WWE United States Championship on the May 17, 2010, episode of Raw. It was the Hitman's first outing on Raw since October 1997. This was a No Disqualification match that took place in Toronto, Canada with Hart having the Canadian fans on his side.

Their match wasn't good and there were a lot of shenanigans with the likes of Vladimir Kozlov, William Regal, the Hart Dynasty, and Chris Jericho getting involved. The Hart Dynasty gave Bret a massive assist by laying out Miz with the Hart Attack. Hart kickstarted an unlikely fifth United States Championship run all thanks to the sharpshooter.

7 Bret Hart Vs. The Patriot - 7/28/97

On the go-home episode of Raw before SummerSlam 1997, Bret Hart went head-to-head with The Patriot. Before the match began both the Canadian and American national anthems were played. However, whilst the Star-Spangled Banner was still playing in the background, the Hitman attacked the Patriot.

Shawn Michaels was at the commentary table throughout the match, and Hart dominated proceedings. He laid out the Patriot with a devastating piledriver but the referee was knocked down. Michaels went into the ring and he pulled Hart off the Patriot. Nevertheless, the Patriot scored an upset win over Hart with a rollup.

6 The Hart Foundation Vs. The Headbangers - 9/15/97

Bret Hart and his brother-in-law The British Bulldog were looking to bring more gold to the Hart Foundation as they challenged the Headbangers for the WWE World Tag Team Championship. The Hitman was the reigning WWE Champion, and Bulldog was the European Champion.

The Headbangers surprisingly dominated the early stages of the match. Nevertheless, the Hart Foundation fought back. It was a decent tag team match, and the Hart Foundation wrestled at their pace. However, there was a mix-up in the finish with Bulldog pinning Mosh but Mosh wasn't the legal man. Bulldog grabbed an American flag from the crowd and he hit Trasher with it, which led to the Hart Foundation getting disqualified.

5 Bret Hart Vs. Faarooq - 10/20/97

Bret Hart was the leader of the Hart Foundation, and Faarooq was the leader of the Nation. There were guaranteed to be fireworks with the Hart Foundation in the Hitman's corner, and the Nation giving Faarooq some moral support to ensure that the odds were even.

This was a good match between the pair, and Shawn Michaels didn't hesitate to distract his bitter rival, the Hitman. With both factions fighting on the outside, Austin executed the stunner on Faarooq, and Hart took advantage by covering the leader of the Nation for the win.

4 Bret Hart Vs. Goldust - 9/22/97

The WWE Championship was not on the line in Bret Hart's one-on-one clash with Goldust. Their encounter emanated from the hallowed halls of Madison Square Garden in the main event. Both Bret and Goldust are second-generation competitors, and Hart masterfully worked on the Bizarre One's leg throughout.

Hart applied more pressure on Goldust's leg by executing the figure four leglock around the ring post. Furthermore, Shawn Michaels appeared on the ramp to keep a closer eye on the proceedings. Goldust did have some offense in this bout the Hitman finished off Goldust with the sharpshooter.

3 Bret Hart Vs. Ken Shamrock - 10/27/97

Bret Hart had a stern test in his WWE Championship title defense against Ken Shamrock, and this was a fantastic championship bout between the pair. The World's Most Dangerous Man was a master of submission holds just like the Hitman and Shamrock had the upper hand in the early goings.

Hart responded with an attempt of cinching in the sharpshooter but Shamrock countered it remarkably well with an ankle lock. Shamrock would've won the WWE Championship but the referee was knocked down. Chaos ensued with Shawn Michaels nailing Hart with Sweet Chin Music, but Shamrock went nuts and he took everyone out who stood in his way.

2 Bret Hart Vs. Triple H - 10/6/97

Bret Hart clashed with Triple H in a non-title match, and the Hitman was in cruise control of the match. Triple H's DX stablemate Shawn Michaels couldn't keep his nose out of Hart and Triple H's business for long. Whilst, the Hitman was distracted by Michaels' presence, Owen Hart and Jim Neidhart came down the aisle to ensure that no funny business would be going on.

The Hitman was looking to finish Triple H off with the sharpshooter, but Chyna came to Triple H's aid. Michaels connected with Sweet Chin Music on Hart, and Triple H earned a monumental win over Hart by count-out.

1 Bret Hart Vs. Vader - 9/8/97

Bret Hart and Vader slugged it out in an outstanding No Holds Barred match on Raw. They opened up the show, and it was a non-title match with the Hitman's WWE Championship not at stake. The Hitman hit Vader with his title belt to gain the upper hand but Vader retaliated by dominating Bret with some power moves, and he retrieved the WWE Championship and he clocked the Hitman with it.

Vader snapped the Canadian flag and he attacked Hart with it. It was a war of attrition and Bret's brother-in-law The British Bulldog rescued Hart from taking the Vader Bomb. Bret and Bulldog physically assaulted Vader together until the Patriot interfered in the bout. Chaos ensued with Owen Hart interfering and Austin came down to the ring with the match ruled as a no-contest.
