WWE: 5 Things We Want From Candice LeRae On The Main Roster (& 5 We Don't)

Ever since Triple H took charge of WWE's creative, fans have seen multiple former stars return to the company, such as Braun Strowman, Dakota Kai, Karrion Kross, and Johnny Gargano. While the latter returned to the promotion on the August 22, 2022, episode of Raw, his wife followed him soon. On the September 26 edition of Raw, Candice LeRae made her return to the Stamford-based promotion.

LeRae made her Raw debut as the surprise opponent for Nikki A.S.H, and picked up an easy win. She has been one of pioneers of women's wrestling on the independent scene, and her finally being on the WWE main roster is a run which the creative team has to get right. Here are a few things fans would love to see the former PWG star do on the main roster, and few that fans unfortunately won't.

10 Don't Want: 24/7 Title Scene

The 24/7 title is by far the most hated championship in all of WWE right now, which is seen by majority of fans as a downgrade for any wrestler. In recent memory, the belt has slowly been integrated into the women's division where it has been won by the likes of Dana Brooke and Nikki A.S.H.

With how well LeRae's comedic timing is, there is a huge possibility that she would have been inserted into the lower-card championship scene sooner rather than later by the old regime. With Triple H being a huge fan of both Gargano and LeRae, now this fortunately does not seem like her fate.

9 Want: Tag Team With Indi Hartwell

While LeRae had always been a terrific babyface prior to her signing with WWE the first time, she only tasted major success on NXT when she turned heel and formed "The Way" alongside Gargano, Theory, and Hartwell.

LeRae would soon see the latter and herself become the top women's tag team on the black and gold brand, which eventually led to them getting a brief run with the brand's women's tag team championship. With Indi Hartwell seeming like a perfect candidate for a main roster call up, it would be a no-brainer for Candice and her kayfabe daughter to boost the main roster's women's tag division.

8 Don't Want: Heel Turn

Even thought the former NXT Women's Tag Team Champion had a great run on NXT as a villainous character, it is time for her to stay true to her roots on the main roster.

If booked correctly, LeRae can be a perfect babyface on the main roster, one the women's division desperately needs. With Becky Lynch injured and Liv Morgan getting mixed reactions from the crowd, Candice can help overcome the shortage of top babyfaces in the division.

7 Want: Interaction With Austin Theory

As soon as the former face of NXT, Johnny Gargano, made his return to the WWE, his former kayfabe son and faction-mate Austin Theory set his sights on him. The feud being built up between them is in consistency with their time spent on NXT, with the Mr. Money in the Bank being upset about how Gargano abandoned him.

With Candice now back in the company, a segment between herself and Theory can provide greater storyline progression in the aforementioned feud and kick it into the next gear.

6 Don't Want: Full Time On-Screen Pairing With Gargano

One of the major reasons why LeRae's early day in NXT weren't the best was due to the lackluster introduction she was given. She was originally introduced to the fans as Johnny Gargano's wife, who at the time was in the NXT Championship picture. This led to the Candice needing ample of time to re-introduce herself for what she was, one the best wrestlers on the planet.

With the couple once again now on the same show, re-doing the same mistake is something that WWE should avoid. While the relationship between the two should certainly be portrayed, they should remain on their separate parts, similar to Adam Cole and Britt Baker in AEW.

5 Want: Match With IYO SKY

Candice's biggest rival in NXT proved to be the former IO Shirai, with the two having a long-running feud on the brand. While LeRae and the former NXT Women's Champion had multiple outings, their best one was from the Halloween Havoc special in 2020, where they squared off in a critcally acclaimed Tables, Ladders, and Scares match.

With Candice immediately inserting herself into a feud with Bayley's "Damage Control" faction, a one-on-one match with the now IYO SKY will be a treat for the fans.

4 Don't Want: Play Second Fiddle To Bianca Belair

As mentioned, one of the first things done by Candice LeRae was of starting a feud with Bayley's "Damage Control" faction. This is a positive sign for her future as her being into a rivalry with the top women's faction shows the trust the WWE management has in her.

However, similar to Alexa Bliss and Asuka, this might lead to LeRae playing second fiddle to Belair, who currently is feuding with the faction's leader Bayley. LeRea immediacy being reduced to being a second fiddle to Belair will be poor booking move on WWE's part.

3 Want: War Games

WWE has announced that the annual Survivor Series PPV in 2022 will feature two War Games matches, one each for both men's and women's division. While the men's one still seems ambiguous, it seems like a given that the Damage Control will be involved in the women's one.

Candice has proven to be huge asset in War Games matches, with her competing in it twice during her tenure in NXT. Along with that, her rich history if hardcore matches from PWG makes her a vital candidate to be on the babyface side in the first ever War Games match on the WWE main roster.

2 Don't Want: Immediate Push Into The Women's Title Picture

One trend which has been visible in recent years has been of the fans turning on an NXT call-up if they got pushed into the title picture way too early. This has been evident in the cases of Shayna Baszler and Keith Lee, who could not win the audience in the short amount of time they were given.

This is one major mistake Triple H should avoid with the ultra-talented LeRae, who should have a gradual and natural rise to the top rather than an abrupt push.

1 Want: Feud Vs Becky Lynch

Right before being sidelined due to an unfortunate injury, Becky Lynch once again turned face and has since been teasing the return of her fan favorite "The Man" gimmick on social media.

With LeRea being a white meat babyface and Lynch being an anti-hero, a clash between the two stars will certainly be a money feud. The difference in ideologies, characters, and in-ring work will provide the two women with rich content to tell an amazing story with.
