The road to WrestleMania begins at Royal Rumble which is now less than three weeks away. That road is a lot busier than it used to be, though it seems there will be just one stop between the Rumble and WrestleMania this year. The usual speed bump in the form of the Elimination Chamber. However, WWE has now confirmed this year's Chamber PPV comes with a twist.

The Elimination Chamber Heads To Saudi Arabia

Since the world has opened back up, for now, WWE has been able to resume its deal with the Saudi Arabian sports authority. That means traveling to the Middle East twice a year for major premium live events. Rather than hold two premium live events during the shortest month of the year, WWE has decided to combine them and stage its Elimination Chamber show in Jeddah on February 19, 2022.

“The Elimination Chamber Premium Live Event will be held at the world’s largest pillarless superdome in Jeddah, on Saturday, Feb.19, 2022,” reads an official statement from WWE. More details are promised soon. That will likely pertain to things like the start time of the show. WWE's Saudi outings are normally on Thursday and take place far earlier in the day due to the time difference.

Potential Name Change Pending

The possibility that WWE would be packing up the Elimination Chamber and taking it to Saudi Arabia was reported last week. There was also talk that the match and the event would be referred to as the WrestleMania Chamber instead for a number of reasons. There's no mention of a name change in WWE's press release, but it's possible that is being saved for when more details are revealed in the near future.

Elimination Chamber has become a sort of second chance for WWE Superstars to book a spot in a main event match at WrestleMania in recent years. If you weren't one of the ones to win a Royal Rumble or you don't have a title, then you can win a Chamber match to book your spot instead. It's also possible titles could be on the line inside Saudi Arabia's chamber matches.
