WWE spoke to a major AEW talent who remains under contract with the promotion, according to a report.

Fightful Select (h/t F4WOnline.com) reports that WWE reached out to a full-time AEW star "who is known to be under contract." The name of the talent wasn't specified, but according to Fightful, the wrestler decided to report the contact from WWE to AEW management. It was also noted that the star is happy in AEW right now.

Since opening its doors in 2019, AEW has signed a plethora of former WWE stars. The long list included Jon Moxley (Dean Ambrose in WWE), CM Punk, Bryan Danielson (Daniel Bryan), Ruby Soho (Ruby Riott), Malakai Black (Aleister Black), Adam Cole, Mark Henry, Jim Ross, Kyle O'Reilly, Paul White, Arn Anderson and Chris Jericho.

But WWE made a giant splash earlier this year when they signed Cody Rhodes, who made his highly-anticipated return to the company at WrestleMania 38. Cody and Brandi Rhodes, who were both instrumental in starting up AEW, left the company in February following the expirations of their respective contracts.

Triple H

Vince McMahon announced his retirement via social media on July 22. His daughter, Stephanie McMahon, and Nick Khan were named the co-CEOs of WWE. Triple H was named the new Head of Talent Relations as well as the leader of WWE creative, and The Game quickly went to work in bringing back previously released WWE stars.

Since taking over as the Head of Talent Relations, Triple H has already brought back Dakota Kai, Karrion Kross, Scarlett Bordeaux, Dexter Lumis and Hit Row (Top Dolla, B-Fab and Ashante “Thee” Adonis. It has also been reported that WWE could bring back Bray Wyatt, who was let go from his contract on July 31 of last year.

Cody Rhodes Suggested That More AEW Stars Will Come To WWE

Following his return at WrestleMania 38, The American Nightmare suggested that more AEW talents will eventually come to WWE as well. After Vince announced his retirement, it was reported that some AEW talents may consider WWE with new leadership now in place.
