No Way Out 2009 was a historic night for both the WWE and World Heavyweight Championships. Edge defended his WWE Championship against Jeff Hardy, Triple H, The Undertaker, Big Show, and Vladimir Kozlov in the curtain raiser. Edge and Hardy were the first two to start the match, which did not go according to plan for the Rated-R Superstar.

Edge went for his trademark Spear on Hardy, but the Charismatic Enigma outsmarted him and eliminated him with a small package. A new WWE Champion was guaranteed, and Triple H overcame Undertaker to become a 13-time World Champion.

Edge began the night as WWE Champion, and he was hellbent on not leaving No Way Out 2009 without a World Championship in his possession. In the main event, Edge gatecrashed the World Heavyweight Championship Elimination Chamber match by stealing Kofi Kingston's spot.

John Cena was the reigning World Heavyweight Champion, and Edge ended his rival's championship run by removing him from the equation with a Spear. Moreover, Edge lived up to his Ultimate Opportunist moniker, and he speared his former tag team partner Rey Mysterio to secure his eighth World Championship reign.

The final stop on the road to WrestleMania 27 was the 2011 Elimination Chamber pay-per-view. Edge defended the World Heavyweight Championship against Rey Mysterio, Kane, Drew McIntyre, Big Show, and Wade Barrett in an Elimination Chamber match. Edge had to go all the way to retain his title as he started the match with Mysterio.

Edge removed Kane from the equation with a Spear which left Edge and Mysterio as the final two competitors. The action was breathtaking, and for the second time in three years, Edge got the better of Mysterio in an Elimination Chamber match to remain as World Heavyweight Champion.

Shawn Michaels was the special guest referee, and this was one of the best Elimination Chamber matches in WWE history. Edge was humiliated as he was the first to be eliminated with HBK dashing Edge's hopes by nailing him with Sweet Chin Music. Jericho covered Edge, and the Game wound up as a 10-time World Champion.

It had been 10 years since Edge featured in a one-on-one World Championship match on a WWE pay-per-view. The WWE Hall of Famer challenged Roman Reigns for the Universal Championship in a spectacular main event at Money in the Bank 2021.

There were always going to be fireworks in Edge and Jeff Hardy's ladder match for the World Heavyweight Championship at Extreme Rules 2009. The two legends' body of work was prided on ladder matches, and they hit a home run in a magnificent World Heavyweight Championship match.

Neither man held back, and both were desperate to end the night as champion. Ultimately, the Rated-R Superstar was helpless to watch Hardy retrieve the World Heavyweight Championship as he was wedged in a rung of the ladder.

Edge headlined WrestleMania for the first time at WrestleMania 24, and he defended the World Heavyweight Championship against The Undertaker. The Phenom was appearing in his first WrestleMania main event in 11 years, and this was a barnburner of a championship match.

The defending champion refused to stay down as he kicked out of Undertaker's Tombstone Piledriver. La Familia interfered, but they were swatted to one side by Undertaker. Nonetheless, Undertaker played possum after Edge connected with a Spear, and he locked in Hell's Gate to reclaim the Big Gold Belt.

The deck was stacked against John Cena at Unforgiven 2006 as he was up against a partisan Torontonian crowd, and he challenged Edge for the WWE Championship in a TLC match. All signs pointed towards an Edge victory, but Cena relishes a challenge.

Edge and Cena's chemistry together is remarkable, and they produced one of their finest meetings against each other. The action was fast-paced, and it spilled onto the outside with Edge spearing Reigns' cousin Jey Uso.

Edge was looking good in his quest to capture his 12th World Championship. However, the Head of the Table wasn't ready to part ways with his Universal Title as he pinned Edge and Bryan simultaneously.

John Cena was in store for a long night when he put the WWE Championship on the line in a star-studded fatal-4-way match with former World Champions Edge, Randy Orton, and Shawn Michaels determined to beat him for the WWE Championship at Backlash 2007.

Rated-RKO worked as a cohesive unit to boost their chances of winning the WWE Title. As expected, their partnership broke down. Nonetheless, Edge was nowhere to be seen after Michaels hit Cena with Sweet Chin Music and Cena fell onto Orton to remain as WWE Champion.

The score would be settled in Edge and John Cena's on-and-off three-year rivalry as they contested a Last Man Standing Match for the World Heavyweight Championship at Backlash 2009. Cena entered as the defending champion with Edge more than capable of taking the gold away from Cena.

Edge and Cena's Last Man Standing match lived up to the billing, and Cena launched Edge into the crowd with his patented Attitude Adjustment. The last laugh belonged to Edge as he became a nine-time World Champion all thanks to Big Show, who chokeslammed Cena in a spotlight, and he was unable to answer the count of 10.
