Edge is one of the greatest wrestlers of all time. Tag team wrestling was his bread and butter, but he translated his skills seamlessly into becoming a major singles competitor. Edge's resume speaks for itself as he's an 11-time World Champion, a five-time Intercontinental Champion, and he has been a Tag Team Champion on 14 separate occasions. Thankfully, Edge gets to retire for a second time on his terms as spinal stenosis forced him into premature retirement in 2011.

The Rated-R Superstar returned at the 2020 Royal Rumble, and he hasn't looked back. He's in the phase of his career, where he's going to have outstanding matches with several wrestlers he hasn't wrestled. Nevertheless, Dave Meltzer has overrated and underrated some of the Ultimate Opportunist's matches.

10 Overrated: Edge Vs. Kurt Angle - Judgment Day 2002 (4.5 Stars)

Edge and Kurt Angle clashed in a hair versus hair match at Judgment Day 2002. In real life, Edge was anxious that he was going to get his hair shaved bald with Mr. McMahon and Kurt Angle waiting until late on to tell Edge that it was not the case.

Nevertheless, the pair tore the house down in a remarkable wrestling match. However, it wasn't as good as Dave Meltzer made it out to be. Edge was victorious, and Angle tried to delay the inevitable by running away from Edge, but he ultimately faced the music by getting his head shaved bald.

9 Underrated: Edge & Christian Vs. The Dudley Boyz Vs. The Hardy Boyz - WrestleMania 16 (4 Stars)

The Dudley Boyz defended the WWE World Tag Team Championship against Edge and Christian and the Hardy Boyz in a triangle ladder match at WrestleMania 2000. This match was the best match of the night, and it doesn't get a lot of love as it was surpassed by their two TLC matches at SummerSlam 2000 and WrestleMania 17.

All three teams gave it their all, and there were several bumps that each man took. Edge and Christian emerged victorious by becoming WWE World Tag Team Champions for the first time with Matt Hardy crashing and burning through the tables.

8 Overrated: Edge Vs. Randy Orton - Vengeance 2004 (4.25 Stars)

Edge returned in March 2004 after a one-year injury layoff and he was drafted to Raw. He challenged Randy Orton for the Intercontinental Championship at Vengeance. Orton was the longest-reigning Intercontinental Champion for seven years and he had his work cut out for him.

It was a good wrestling match but parts of it dragged. There were several near falls and false finishes with the tension rising. Nevertheless, Edge captured the Intercontinental Championship for the fifth time in his career.

No Way Out 2009 turned out to be an excellent night for Edge after he dropped the WWE Championship in the curtain-raiser. In the main event, he gatecrashed the World Heavyweight Championship Elimination Chamber match by stealing Kofi Kingston's spot.

Edge was in fine form here as he eliminated his rival John Cena to guarantee a new World Heavyweight Champion. This was one of the best Elimination Chamber matches, and Edge fended off a spirited effort from Rey Mysterio to secure his eighth World Championship.

6 Overrated: Money In The Bank Ladder Match - WrestleMania 23 (4.25 Stars)

Edge was looking to win the Money in the Bank ladder match for the second time in three years at WrestleMania 23. He had to go through Jeff Hardy, Randy Orton, Matt Hardy, King Booker, Finlay, King Booker, CM Punk, and Mr. Kennedy if he was going to prevail.

Eight competitors are too many wrestlers to have in a Money in the Bank ladder match. The Rated-R Superstar was removed from the equation early on with Jeff executing a leg drop on Edge who was prone on a ladder. Mr. Kennedy went on to win the match although Edge beat him for the Money in the Bank contract.

5 Underrated: Edge Vs. Matt Hardy - Unforgiven 2005 (4.25 Stars)

The rivalry between Edge and Matt Hardy was physical, and Matt was out for revenge at Unforgiven 2005 in their steel cage match. The atmosphere was electric with fans desperately wanting Matt to get the better of Mr. Money in the Bank.

Edge wore the proverbial crimson mask after Matt shoved his head into the steel cage. This was a high-level match with real-life animosity between the pair, but Matt got the all-important win over Edge after executing a crushing leg drop from the top rope.

4 Overrated: Edge Vs. Jeff Hardy - Royal Rumble 2009 (3.75 Stars)

Jeff Hardy defended the WWE Championship for the first time at the 2009 Royal Rumble against Edge. The match was changed into a No Disqualification match, and Edge was accompanied to the ring by Chavo Guerrero.

This match was decent but they didn't get out of second gear. However, in a surprising turn of events, Matt Hardy betrayed his brother Jeff by clocking him in the head with a steel chair. Edge seized the opportunity, and he captured his seventh World Championship.

3 Underrated: Edge Vs. Roman Reigns Vs. Daniel Bryan - WrestleMania 37 (4.5 Stars)

Roman Reigns had his work cut out for him as he put the Universal Championship on the line against Edge and Daniel Bryan in a triple threat match at WrestleMania 37. All three men played their roles to perfection in one of the greatest triple threat matches in WWE history.

Edge removed Jey Uso from proceedings as he kept on interrupting to give his cousin Roman Reigns a helping hand. Ultimately, the Tribal Chief retained his championship as he pinned both Edge and Bryan simultaneously.

2 Overrated: Edge Vs. Kane Vs. Rey Mysterio Vs. Alberto Del Rio - TLC 2010 (4.25 Stars)

Edge, Kane, Rey Mysterio, and Alberto Del Rio clashed in a fatal-4-way TLC match for the World Heavyweight Championship. The Rated-R Superstar was the master of the TLC match, and he was the favorite to emerge victorious.

There's no doubt that it was a competitive match with some bright moments, but it didn't reach the heights as expected. Edge speared Kane through a table, and he went on to scale the ladder and he became a 10-time World Champion.

1 Underrated: Edge Vs. The Undertaker - WrestleMania 24 (4.25 Stars)

Edge headlined WrestleMania for the first time, and he defended the World Heavyweight Championship against The Undertaker at WrestleMania 24. It was the Phenom's first WrestleMania main event appearance in 11 years, and it was an excellent match between the two competitors.

There was a big fight feel to it, and Edge looked comfortable in this setting. He even kicked out of Undertaker's Tombstone Piledriver. Edge had his chances to end the streak but Undertaker applied Hell's Gate on the Rated-R Superstar to go 16-0 at WrestleMania and he kickstarted a sixth World Championship reign.
