Bray Wyatt is one of WWE’s biggest missed opportunities of the last decade, with him having everything it takes to become a legend in the business. WWE tried a few times to cement him as a main eventer, but a collection of issues made for him to often be booked badly, damaging his chances of remaining as a consistent top star.

He has had several PPV main events over the course of his WWE career, although a lot of these have been severe let-downs. Note: Royal Rumble matches won’t be included in this list.

12 Bray Wyatt Vs Goldberg – Super ShowDown 2020

The Fiend v Goldberg Super ShowDown 2020 Cropped

There were zero redeemable things about this match, and it continues to be one of the most awful booking decisions of all time. “The Fiend” character wasn’t being booked perfectly, but Wyatt was still the Universal Champion, at the very least.

The part-timer Goldberg, who had lost a lot of his aura, squashed Wyatt without much issue, adding yet another bad match to his list, irreparably damaging “The Fiend” character, and winning yet another Universal Title ahead of WrestleMania.

11 Seth Rollins Vs Bray Wyatt – Hell In A Cell 2019

Seth Rollins v Bray Wyatt Hell in a Cell 2019 Cropped

This is up there with the worst main events in history, but at times it made Wyatt look very strong, which makes it slightly more palatable that the Goldberg match – but only by the finest margins.

Even though this was inside Hell in a Cell, the referee stopped the match due to Seth Rollins using too many weapons and attacking a prone Wyatt too much, even though Cell matches have been far more brutal in the past, and even though Wyatt still popped up as though unharmed after the bell anyway.

10 Braun Strowman Vs Bray Wyatt – Extreme Rules 2020

Bray Wyatt v Braun Strowman The Horror Show At Extreme Rules 2020 Cropped

WWE attempted to provide something different and creative in this cinematic “Swamp Fight”, but the execution and final product was long-winded, strange, poorly acted, and a complete mess. The history between Strowman and Wyatt was fun to look at, but that was it.

This was a strange way to end a PPV, with the ending seeing both men submerged in a swamp, only for Wyatt’s “Fiend” alter ego to appear out of the water. It was far too over the top for many fans.

9 Braun Strowman Vs Bray Wyatt – SummerSlam 2020

Braun Strowman v Bray Wyatt SummerSlam 2020 Cropped

This was a Falls Count Anywhere brawl that never managed to find a proper gear or momentum. There were some fine moments, but it was a slog of a match for the most part, with it feeling a lot longer than the 11-minute length.

The only highlight came following the bell when Roman Reigns made his surprise return, stealing the headlines following Wyatt’s Universal Title win.

8 Bray Wyatt Vs Randy Orton – No Mercy 2016

Bray Wyatt v Randy Orton No Mercy 2016

This match had no right being in the main event spot of the show, but it was only there due to WWE putting the WWE Championship match in the opener, due to the presidential debate. The match itself was quite plain for the most part.

The highlight of the match came at the end, as Luke Harper returned to side with Bray Wyatt, reforming the Wyatt Family. It felt like it would’ve been a match better suited to a SmackDown episode, rather than a PPV.

7 Seth Rollins Vs Bray Wyatt – Crown Jewel 2019

For a match which no one was looking forward to and given that the arena was drenched in horrific red lighting, both Rollins and Wyatt managed to do an okay job.

This was a chaotic and fun brawl at times, which went around the arena and ended with a huge title change, but unfortunately, the red lighting stopped it from being a success, as it was very hard to see the action at times.

6 Bray Wyatt Vs Braun Strowman Vs Roman Reigns – Payback 2020

The Fiend v Braun Strowman v Roman Reigns Payback 2020 Cropped

The match between Wyatt and Strowman was a big step up from their SummerSlam outing, with it having some more impactful moments, a faster pace, and better execution. The story of the match was that Roman Reigns signed a contract to involve himself towards the end, with him entering the contest and stealing the win.

It was a good angle which set up a legendary Universal Championship run for Reigns, but it was at the expense of Strowman and Wyatt, who ended this match looking like afterthoughts.

5 Bray Wyatt Vs Randy Orton – TLC 2020

Randy Orton The Fiend Fire

This was a match which split fans right down the middle, with the Firefly Inferno Match being yet another cinematic bout within the year of 2020.

The action itself was nothing special, but the spectacle of seeing Wyatt wrestle whilst his body was ignited in flames will be something that many fans will remember for a long time. It was another experiment from WWE, but it wasn’t as disastrous as some of Wyatt’s other matches.

4 Bray Wyatt Vs Dean Ambrose – TLC 2014

Dean Ambrose Vs Bray Wyatt

The feud going into this match wasn’t anything special, and the finish to this bout was awful, with Dean Ambrose blinding himself with an exploding TV.

The match had some decent moments, with several table spots which made the crowd happy, even if the story and structure wasn’t perfect. Aside from the ending, this was a fine match, even if it wasn’t main event worthy.

3 WWE Championship Ladder Match – Money In The Bank 2014

John Cena WWE World Heavyweight Champion Cropped

Multi-man ladder matches rarely ever fail to be enjoyable, and this WWE Championship match was no different. It wasn’t as strong as the MITB match earlier in the night, but it had enough strong performers for it to still be fun.

John Cena defeated a field including Bray Wyatt, Alberto Del Rio, Cesaro, Kane, Randy Orton, and Roman Reigns, on his way to becoming the WWE World Heavyweight Champion.

2 Fatal Five Way – Extreme Rules 2017

Samoa Joe v Finn Balor v Roman Reigns v Bray Wyatt v Seth Rollins Extreme Rules 2017 Cropped

This was a fun brawl to close the show between five of Raw’s top stars, all for a chance to earn a shot at the Universal Championship. There were many enjoyable moments with the match going at 100mph for nearly every second.

Whilst it could have been better, it was still a strong match, which saw Samoa Joe outlast Bray Wyatt, Finn Balor, Seth Rollins, and Roman Reigns.

1 WWE Championship Chamber – Elimination Chamber 2017

Bray Wyatt v John Cena v AJ Styles v Dean Ambrose v The Miz v Baron Corbin Elimination Chamber 2017 Cropped

During SmackDown’s strong run following the 2016 brand split, this PPV was yet another hit, with the main event being fantastic. It featured several of SmackDown’s top names, with John Cena defending the WWE Title against Bray Wyatt, AJ Styles, Dean Ambrose, The Miz, and Baron Corbin.

It was creative, unique, brutal, and a whole lot of fun, making it one of the best Chamber matches in recent memory. Wyatt would win the WWE Championship in a great moment, defeating both Cena and Styles to stand tall.
