Finn Balor has had a varied WWE career so far, from thriving in the main event scene to not always being used by the company in the best manner. However, his in-ring work has remained consistent throughout that time, putting together great matches whether that was as the Demon or The Judgment Day leader.

However, even though Balor always presents himself as a legitimate star, there is no doubt that there have been some strange moments throughout his time with the company. Some of those have been forgotten by fans, either because they were completely random, or because they were terrible and didn't serve him any purpose.

10 Extreme Rules 2021

Finn Balor's match at 2021's Extreme Rules against Roman Reigns was an excellent one, all the way up until the finish. Balor had been taken out, but then he randomly started coming back to life with the Demon's heartbeat, which was a spot that had never been seen before, or since.

The finish then got even stronger when Balor was going for the Coup De Grace to win only for the top turnbuckle to snap. This led to him losing, but it was never explained why that happened, making this just a strange spot that never meant anything.

9 Feuding Against Sister Abigail

Bray Wyatt can be a difficult character to feud against at times, and that is something that Finn Balor found out heading into TLC, 2017. He ended up being set for a match against Wyatt's Sister Abigail character at the PPV after some rather awkward promo segments between them.

Thankfully, the match didn't end up happening as Wyatt was legitimately ill at that time, which meant that the encounter had to be changed. It worked out for Balor as he faced AJ Styles instead, but people typically forget about the match that was almost going to happen.

8 Not Competing At WrestleMania 33

Finn Balor as Universal Champion

When Finn Balor was brought to the main roster he got pushed immediately, becoming the first-ever Universal Champion. However, he was injured at that moment, which led to him having a lengthy absence from the ring, and he ultimately missed out on being involved at WrestleMania 33.

However, the weird situation about this was the fact that Balor was technically medically cleared, and he had been competing at live events beforehand. Adding him to the card would have been a major deal for his return, but that opportunity was not given to him.

7 Tension With Xavier Woods

Bringing back the King of the Ring tournament in 2021 was something that fans were happy to see, and the finals ended up being between Xavier Woods and Finn Balor. They were two top babyfaces in that moment, which made it weird when they ended up showcasing a lot of tension beforehand.

They had a face-off on Monday Night Raw to build the match, and rather than being classic babyfaces that would shake hands and showcase respect, they ended up being aggressive towards each other, which was a strange spot.

6 Switching Gear

The Mixed Match Challenge brought plenty of odd moments throughout its two tournaments as they were not ones to be taken overly seriously at times. That was clear when Finn Balor and Bobby Roode were opponents, and they opted to swap their ring gear rather than get down to the action.

Seeing Balor in the huge robe wasn't something that people were expecting to witness a that time, and it certainly created a funny visual. However, this was a weird spot for the middle of a match, which didn't push the seriousness of in-ring competition.

5 Destroyed By Brock Lesnar

Brock Lesnar F5's Finn Balor

Getting a Universal Championship match against Brock Lesnar was a great moment for Finn Balor, and the match that they had at the 2019 Royal Rumble was an enjoyable one. Seeing the Beast get the win was not a big surprise, but it was the post-match situation that ended up being weird.

Despite the fact Lesnar already had the win done he then continued to beat down Balor afterward. Lesnar destroyed him with three F5s, which didn't make Balor look good, and considering there was no follow-up, it was an odd situation.

4 A Blood Bath

During Finn Balor's rivalry against Bray Wyatt, the two atempted to tap into their mysterious characters as often as possible to showcase different sides of their personality. While Wyatt was often an eerie character, he was never one that tapped into utter violence that would create blood.

However, for some reason there was one segment which led to Wyatt tapping into that very part of him. He randomly produced a bucket of 'blood' which he then poured over Balor's head, which was a weird situation to see, as Wyatt never used to do these types of things.

3 Attacked By Goldust

Another random moment that came from Finn Balor's career was when he was attacked by Goldust backstage. They weren't two wrestlers most people would put together at that point, even though Goldust is a legendary wrestler. The two were babyfaces at that point, but Goldust felt disrespected and attacked him.

It was a random spot that led to a one-off match on an episode of Raw, but it was a strange situation to see a veteran like Goldust getting the better of him in that moment.

2 Destroying The Revival

The Raw Anniversary show that saw Finn Balor and The Club interact with DX and The Kliq was a weird one, mainly because it was all about burying good upcoming stars in The Revival. This was something that shouldn't have ended up happening because the tag team were a great duo.

This was a spot that felt like it was all about throwing up a 'Too Sweet' sign, and that was it. It's not something that people enjoyed seeing in hindsight, and while it was something that got a pop at the time, it was weird to see.

1 Shown A Dressing Room

Finn Balor's storyline against Constable Corbin wasn't a particularly exciting one, and it did lead to a rather strange backstage segment between the two. After Balor had picked up a big win Corbin wanted to embarrass him, which led to him creating a brand new dressing room for Balor.

This was a toy funhouse that would typically be used for children to play in, with the entire situation being built around the fact Balor was smaller than him. It was a weird situation, and not something that helped to make Balor look like a star.
