Considering this upcoming WrestleMania 39 will be taking place in Hollywood, it makes sense that reports are surfacing the company is looking to heavily involve celebrities in the show. And, with the show in California and many celebrities already likely to attend, the two nights could be riddled with celebrity appearances, cameos, and potentially a couple of matches.

According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter (h/t Gunjan Nath of Ringside News), WWE wants "a lot of celebrity involvement" for WrestleMania 39. The company has found a lot of success with its use of celebrities in the past couple of years and they've seen a strong financial return to finding ways to use stars with big drawing power for their programs and pay-per-views. The latest is Logan Paul, who brought with him millions of social media followers and ultimately signed a multi-year contract with the company.

Celebrities and WrestleMania are nothing new. Back to the original WrestleMania where Mr. T, Cyndi Lauper, and others appeared, WWE has been using big names to draw in more eyeballs to what they say is their Super Bowl of wrestling. Last year, both Logan Paul and Johnny Knoxville competed in matches and WWE is hoping to have Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson back for a match with Roman Reigns, while rumors of John Cena returning are also out there. As for who WWE is targeting this year, that isn't clear.

WWE Will Be Making Calls

The report notes that co-CEO Nick Khan has several connections with people in the sports and entertainment industries, dating back to his time as an agent before coming on board with WWE. It is expected that he might make some calls and see if there is interest from a few athletes and celebrities to appear. He shouldn't have to work too hard because WrestleMania is seen as a big opportunity for a lot of celebs who get a nice promotional rub by being involved.

It's also a nice payday for those who get involved and the return is always there for WWE as they make a bundle off of WrestleMania each year.
