WWE's build-up towards the 2022 Hell In A Cell premium live event wasn't the strongest, but as is usually the case with these types of events, the in-ring product was brilliant, leading to a great show. The roster that WWE boasts right now is a strong one, and that led to a lot of excellent encounters from start to finish.

Not everything on the night was perfect, but there were more positives than anything else, with a unique blend of matches that kept the show ticking on throughout the night. With titles on the line and a Hell In A Cell match taking place, there was a lot to be enjoyed with this one, as everyone battled to have the match of the night.

7 Bobby Lashley vs. MVP & Omos

Lashley v MVP at HIAC 2022

With this being the third premium live event match featuring Bobby Lashley and Omos, fans knew what to expect from this one, and it delivered on that. It was never going to be a high-quality encounter as Omos isn't at that level yet, but he did put together an impressive performance, especially as he smashed Lashley through the barricade.

It was hard-hitting and the heels worked their two-on-one advantage well to start things off, but Cedric Alexander getting involved helped Lashley in this one. There was nothing bad with what happened here, but it did feel like something people would expect on Raw, rather than a major event.

6 Kevin Owens vs. Ezekiel

Ezekiel fights Kevin Owens

Ezekiel hasn't been shown much inside the ring so far since appearing in WWE, but he put together a great performance at Hell In A Cell. The quick attack he got with the Elbow Drop left everyone thinking he had the job done straight away, and that near fall was a good way to start the match.

Fans bought into everything they did, with this being a hard-hitting encounter that saw both men throw their biggest shots at each other. The match had plenty of near falls, and Ezekiel more than held his own against one of WWE's best, which is a good sign moving forward.

5 Madcap Moss vs. Happy Corbin (No Holds Barred Match)

Madcap Moss wins

This storyline has been simmering nicely on SmackDown, and building up to this stipulation match was the right call. The two men put together a truly impressive fight, with the aggression being clear from each man that helped to get across the importance of this encounter.

They used weapons well, with Happy Corbin refusing to bring out a table to frustrate the crowd, which was great work as a heel. They both took some big bumps, particularly with the chair, and it was a great callback to have Madcap Moss get the victory by having the chair around Corbin's neck only to slam down the stairs.

4 Theory (c) vs. Mustafa Ali (United States Championship Match)

Mustafa Ali at HIAC 2022

Theory and Mustafa Ali put together an excellent technical wrestling match for the United States Championship that had the crowd going from the start. With Ali being the hometown hero in this one, he played the babyface role perfectly, being the underdog at points as Theory did whatever it took to be crafty as a heel.

Ali took the big risks with flashy high-flying moves. And when they landed, it added to the excitement. When he missed, that helped craft the story. Theory attacked the knee every chance he got, and that type of psychology helped make this a great encounter to watch.

3 Judgment Day vs. AJ Styles, Finn Balor, & Liv Morgan

Six-person tag team matches have the potential to be poor due to how many moving parts there are, but that wasn't the case here. This was chaotic, but entertaining at the same time, with all six wrestlers having excellent chemistry. Judgment Day were plucky with their victory, as Rhea Ripley stopped Finn Balor from hitting the Coup De Grace, setting up the Spear from Edge.

There were some brilliant brawling scenes in this one, which got the fans going in the arena, but at the same time, there was plenty of technical wrestling as well, which people expect from these wrestlers. It was a great back and forth with a lot of high points as this one lived up to the billing with Liv Morgan standing out.

2 Cody Rhodes vs. Seth Rollins (Hell In A Cell Match)

Cody Rhodes at HIAC

Considering the fact Cody Rhodes was competing here with a genuinely torn pectoral muscle, it was amazing that this match happened at all, and it says a lot about Cody. He worked this with one arm, and yet the two men still put together a brilliant main event, with the bells and whistles helping to cover his inability to do a lot in the ring.

Cody couldn't work the same style he normally does, but Seth Rollins focused on the injury and that made it an emotional match to watch, as the fans could feel every ounce of pain alongside Cody. The injury ended up adding a lot to this one and seeing how far the two men went wrapped up this encounter in a great way.

1 Bianca Belair (c) vs. Becky Lynch vs. Asuka (Raw Women's Championship Match)

Women's Title match - HIAC 2022

The women were given the task of opening the show, and the three of them went out and put on a clinic that couldn't be topped. It was an absolute classic, with each competitor looking fantastic, as they had brilliant chemistry that led to something going down at all times, whether it involved just two of the workers or more.

They had some unique moments that saw them put spots together that would take each other down, or hurt two women at once. Asuka was particularly impressive with her strikes, while the callbacks to all their recent exchanges were excellent to see. Having Becky Lynch have the match won until Bianca Belair threw her out to get the pin herself was a smart finish that fans enjoyed, wrapping this up in style.
