Expect more releases in WWE. That said, unlike the multiple releases the company has undergone over the last two years, a new report suggests WWE will be trimming the roster of the talent they don't believe has the goods and doesn't find a way to improve in a given amount of time. In other words, reports are WWE plans to advise performers they aren't living up to expectations, they have 90 days to figure it out, or they're gone.

These reports come from Wrestling Observer Radio’s Dave Meltzer who indicates that WWE could be making cuts every 90 days going forward. Part of the recent NXT 2.0 cuts may have fallen under this new mandate as speculation that Harland, who had a great look and a bright future, was given a chance to improve, didn't, and was released as a result. It's not clear if any others were in this category, although it was mentioned that Dakota Kai was released after not impressing in a series of pre-SmackDown dark matches.

Meltzer states, "I think we are going to be seeing more and more of this when it comes to NXT." He adds that the idea behind the scenes is 'if you don't progress, they are going to get rid of you.' He didn't say that this would be the case for everyone, but that a number of these talents will need to show improvement or the company will simply move on to the next batch of wannabe Superstars.

Expect High Turnover If This Is Real

If WWE is actually going to cycle through talent as quickly as it sounds like, expectthat names from NXT programming will often show up then disappear, almost as quickly as they debut. The 90 days isn't likely the full window that a prospect will be in the system. It's more likely a window of time after WWE trainers have already identified someone as on the edge of being cut and getting one last chance to prove themselves.

While this sounds harsh, it might also be the kick in the pants some performers need.
