Unquestionably, John Cena is one of the greatest wrestlers of all time. Big Match John is a 16-time WWE World Champion and he kickstarted his WWE career on SmackDown in 2002. John Cena and Kane feuded in 2012, and six years later they clashed in a No Disqualification match on the March 26, 2018, edition of Raw. Cena wanted to face Kane's brother The Undertaker at WrestleMania 34. Nevertheless, Cena and Kane had a competitive battle to close out Raw.

Cena used Kane's Chokeslam, but the Devil's Favorite Demon kicked out. Kane was close to putting Cena away on several occasions but Cena triumphed after putting Kane through the table with an AA.

There was a unique handicap match on the May 15, 2006 edition of Raw with John Cena defending the WWE Championship alongside Mr. Money in the Bank Rob Van Dam, who was the Intercontinental Champion and their challengers were Triple H, Shelton Benjamin, and Chris Masters.

This was a fascinating match for fans to watch as the outcome was unpredictable. Triple H did the hard work by executing the Pedigree on both Cena and RVD, but Benjamin covered Van Dam to become a three-time Intercontinental Champion.

John Cena and WWE Hall of Famer Bret Hart formed a dream team and they went toe-to-toe with the WWE Champion Alberto Del Rio and his ring announcer Ricardo Rodriguez. This was never going to be a technical masterclass, and it's the Hitman's final match in a WWE ring.

Del Rio wanted no part of Cena and Hart and he headed back to the locker room leaving a vulnerable Rodriguez on his lonesome. Ultimately, the Hitman cinched in the Sharpshooter in front of his Canadian fans to score the victory.

Chris Jericho oversaw proceedings as the special guest referee in the champion versus champion match featuring the WWE Champion John Cena and the Intercontinental Champion Carlito. It was virtually a handicap match as Jericho did everything in his power to aid Carlito in beating Cena once again.

Raw General Manager Eric Bischoff was present as he also wanted Carlito to win the match. In the closing stages, Jericho abused his power by hitting Cena with a bulldog and a lionsault, and Carlito was victorious all thanks to Jericho failing to be impartial.

6 John Cena & Triple H Vs. Randy Orton & Mr. Kennedy - February 25, 2008

John Cena and Triple H were going to be rivals challenging for Randy Orton's WWE Championship in a triple threat match at WrestleMania 24, but they were forced to join forces against Orton and Mr. Kennedy. There was no shortage of star power in this back-and-forth tag team match.

Cena dominated Kennedy towards the end of the match, and he connected with the Five Knuckle Shuffle. Cena attempted the FU but Orton blocked Cena from doing it to Kennedy. Nevertheless, Triple H intervened by battling with Orton on the outside of the ring, and Cena sealed the deal with the STF.

Unquestionably, John Cena was the heavy favorite in his number one contender's match for Triple H's WWE Championship with Jeff Hardy. However, it wasn't a foregone conclusion that he was going to prevail as the Charismatic Enigma consistently mixed it up with the big boys in 2008.

This was the first one-on-one meeting between the pair, and they had a remarkable match. Hardy gave a good account of himself here, and he should have won but Cena sealed the deal with the FU.

4 Gauntlet Match - March 12, 2007

WWE Champion John Cena and Shawn Michaels were the reigning World Tag Team Champions and they had to run the gauntlet on the March 12, 2007, edition of Raw. Cena and Michaels got past two-time WWE Tag Team Champions the World's Greatest Tag Team advancing to the next round.

Lance Cade and Trevor Murdoch were seeking their second World Tag Team Championship reign but they failed to get past Cena and Michaels. Three-time WWE Tag Team Champions MNM were the final team and it was a steel cage match. Cena and Michaels were facing off for the WWE Championship at WrestleMania 23, but they managed to go co-exist by retaining their titles.

The Spirit Squad's Kenny Dykstra was presented with an opportunity of a lifetime as he challenged John Cena for the WWE Championship with Triple H as the special guest referee. Kenny was bidding to become the youngest WWE Champion in history.

Kenny had everything going his way, but the Game assaulted him. Therefore, Shawn Michaels became the special guest referee with Triple H out of the way, and Cena retained the WWE Championship with the FU.

2 John Cena And Team Hell No Vs. The Shield - April 29, 2013

WWE Champion John Cena and the WWE Tag Team Champions Team Hell No were pitted with The Shield's Roman Reigns, Dean Ambrose, and Seth Rollins in a six-man tag team match on the April 29, 2013 edition of Raw. Both teams enjoyed spells of dominance in this back-and-forth affair.

The Shield worked as a cohesive unit and Cena was unable to execute the AA on Rollins with a sore Achilles. Ultimately, Reigns picked up a monumental win for The Shield as he speared Cena and covered the reigning WWE Champion.

John Cena and Edge's rivalry is one of the best in WWE history, and they have faced off so many times that some of their matches are forgotten about. The Rated-R Superstar was looking to regain the WWE Championship from Cena in a steel cage match.

There's no surprise that the two bitter rivals knocked it out of the park in a brilliant cage match. Edge had a remarkable outing and he failed to win back the WWE Championship with Cena putting their rivalry to bed for the time being.
