Anyone who listens to Jim Cornette's podcasts knows there are some people he hates more than any other. Forget about the people he just hates because of their wrestling, like the Young Bucks and Kenny Omega. The best stories that Cornette shares when he wants to bury someone involves those he used to work with. This includes men like Vince Russo and Kevin Dunn.

Everyone knows about Vince Russo. His part in reinventing WWE into the Attitude Era is something Cornette always rails against. Kevin Dunn is a different story. Most mainstream wrestling fans do not know who Dunn is or why Cornette would hate him. However, he is someone that Cornette hates more than almost anyone still working in WWE.

Kevin Dunn Has Been A WWE Producer For Three Decades

Kevin Dunn Vince McMahon

Kevin Dunn is the television producer on WWE's Monday Night Raw and SmackDown Live. Many "smart" fans on the internet know what Dunn handles in televised wrestling action. Some of Dunn's decisions people really seem to hate, like the non-stop cuts during beat downs and the cameras zooming in and out when someone is punching and kicking another wrestler. That is all about Dunn's direction. However, he also has a big say in things behind the scenes. There were rumors that Dunn was why WWE didn't push Becky Lynch early because he didn't like her accent. Other rumors suggest he held back women he didn't find hot. These are not the reasons that Jim Cornette hates Dunn.

With that said, Kevin Dunn and Jim Cornette have never gotten along. If what Cornette said is true about Dunn hating wrestling people, he and Cornette would never get along. Cornette is a life-time wrestling person. Jim Ross also said that Dunn was the person responsible for many of the segments that buried and humiliated him on television. Kevin Dunn also reportedly buried several NXT wrestlers when they came up to the main roster and tried to push his way over Triple H, something that backfired on him with Triple H's recent promotion.

Jim Cornette Doesn't Think Kevin Dunn Respects The Wrestling Business

Jim Cornette Rants

Jim Cornette has never been quiet about why he hates Kevin Dunn. Cornette was once a booker behind the scenes with WWE in the 1990s. This was when WWE brought in names like Vince Russo and Kevin Dunn. In an episode of his Drive Thru podcast, Cornette explained his hatred for Dunn originally rose because the two shared different opinions on what wrestling should be. After Michael Cole said in an interview that wrestlers were actors, Cornette went off on it, but then said Cole "got that from Kevin Dunn."

"That’s what Kevin Dunn thinks. He doesn’t like the wrestlers or the fans. He goes out of his way to tell people to say things like that or to believe things like that," Cornette said. "Kevin Dunn is not a man; he has never had a fight in his life. He is a suck-up sycophant that’s f***ing blown Vince for 40 years to keep a job that he obviously never wanted to begin with. He just took it to begin with to make money and has been trying to get out of it for 40 years to become a Hollywood producer and win Emmys."

Jim Cornette Once Tried To Attack Kevin Dunn

This hatred led to an explosive confrontation between Jim Cornette and Kevin Dunn, who Cornette has nicknamed "Bucky Beaver" thanks to the appearance of his teeth. In an interview with Wrestling Shoot Interviews, long-time WWE exec Gerald Brisco described an incident between the two men that he had to physically get involved with. This happened during a production meeting, and Brisco said that Cornette tried to climb over the production table to attack Dunn.

After admitting that it was Kevin Dunn that Cornette tried attacking, Brisco said, "I’ve dragged Jimmy out of production meetings with high, high, high, high level WWE officials so many times I can’t count. And I have had to drag him out of meetings when he was coming over the table. I’d grab him on one shoulder and Bruce [Prichard] would grab the other shoulder, and we’d drag him to the elevator, punch his floor, and make sure he got on the elevator."

Bruce Prichard gave his side of what happened between the two men on his Something to Wrestle podcast. Prichard said that WWE once held a production meeting in Nova Scotia. During the meeting, Cornette was talking a lot about something that he felt was wrong about the current product. That is when Prichard said that Dunn spoke up and called Cornette "tiresome." Prichard said that Cornette called Dunn a "Bugs Bunny looking MFer." The two men always poked at each other, and this was the last straw for Cornette, who tried to attack Dunn. It also was the beginning of the end for Cornette in WWE, as Vince McMahon told Jim Ross to deal with the long-time manager.
