Melina is a beloved professional wrestler who had a lot of success throughout her time in WWE, and that has continued when taking up roles after that point. 10 WrestleMania Partnership
The women didn't get the major opportunities that they do during Melina's run when it comes to the big PPVs, which is why a lot of people forget a lot of the women's matches at WrestleMania. They were rarely given a lot of time to be featured, but Melina did compete on that stage three times.
The biggest of those opportunities came at WrestleMania 24, and a lot of people likely don't recall the partnership she had with Beth Phoenix at that time. Fans typically recall Phoenix working with Natalya, but that night it was Melina she partnered to defeat Ashley and Maria.

Sometimes the details of historic achievements aren't always known to wrestling fans, because facts and figures aren't always brought up to the WWE Universe. That was the case when Melina defeated Alicia Fox at SummerSlam in 2010, which saw her become a two-time Divas Champion.
That was the element that made history, it was the fact Melina became the first woman to have multiple reigns with the Divas and Women's Championships, showcasing how consistent she was.
8 Appeared On Tough Enough
The first time that wrestlers appear in the industry is normally something that fans recall, particularly when they are a well-known talent such as Melina. However, a lot of fans likely do not recall the fact that she was involved in Tough Enough III, which is mainly because she wasn't part of many episodes.
Despite her talent, Melina was actually cut during the first episode when there was still a big group. This meant that her individual talent and experience didn't shine through, although Al Snow made a point to tell her to keep pushing for a career in the industry.
7 Press Conference About Batista
One of Melina's first major storylines saw her involved with Batista, as she tried to seduce him in backstage segments. The entire angle was shown in a romantic fashion, and that's something that worked at the time, helping to put Melina on the map in front of the fans.
However, the angle took a turn when she held a press conference inside the ring to claim Batista had sexually harrassed her. It was obviously not true, and this is the type of wrestling storyline that would not be allowed to happen today, and WWE not bringing this up is likely why it's forgotten.
6 Working As A Referee
When WWE brings wrestlers back for reunion shows there is often so many talents on the night that some people can be forgotten about. If they are not given a featured spot then they can easily be overlooked, and that was the case during Melina's most recent Raw appearance.
She was involved in some backstage segments which featured the 24/7 Championship, with that being an easy way to feature lots of talent. However, Melina wasn't the one that was competing to win the title, instead she was the special guest referee for these moments.
5 Kicked Out Of The Locker Room
Backstage heat is not something that fans are always privy to, and that is why a lot of people may not be aware of the fact Melina was one kicked out of the locker room during her career. It was none other than Lita who stepped up as a veteran and made that call, which is always a big deal.
Anytime a wrestler isn't able to change with their peers it is a serious situation as it showcases issues backstage. For her, it was down to attitude at that time, with Lita clearly not being a fan of how she was behaving.
4 Relinquishing The Divas Title
It is rare that wrestlers have to vacate their titles, and whenever it happens the circumstances surrounding it are usually unfortunate. That was the case during Melina's final ever title run in WWE when she was the Divas Champion, as an injury forced her run to finish prematurely.
Melina suffered a torn ACL during a six-woman tag team match at a live event, and it led to her having to give up the championship at that point. Because it wasn't a major high point for her, a lot of people have likely forgotten this disappointing moment for Melina.

Nowadays when a women's wrestler is put into a stipulation match it is not seen as a big deal, whether that be Money in the Bank or Hell in a Cell, but that wasn't the case for Melina's career. It was extremely rare for them to be given a gimmick bout, as they were normally just pushed to wrestle and nothing else.
However, at One Night Stand in 2008 she was able to be part of some history when facing Beth Phoenix. The two competed in an I Quit match, which was won by the Glamazon, with this being the first time women had ever been in this stipulation.
2 Problems For Being Too Good
Melina's Night Of Champions match against Michelle McCool in 2009 is one that fans enjoyed, because it was a high quality bout between two talented women. From a fan perspective, that's all it was, they enjoyed the story that got told and the wrestlers went about their business.
However, there was more to that behind the scenes, as both women actually ended up being told off for their performances that night. This was because they were "too good for girls," which is a ridiculous situation, but showcases how the women were viewed then.
1 Working With Mick Foley
Mick Foley and Melina are legitimate friends, and that is something WWE tapped into via a storyline during their time on the WWE roster. This came when Foley was feuding with Ric Flair, with the two wrestling legends competing in an I Quit match, which was ultimately resolved due to her.
This is a detail fans often forget when it comes to that rivalry, as Melina ended up appearing at the end of the bout. Flair threatened to hit her with a barbed wire baseball bat, and that is what led to Foley quitting, which was a nice detail.
