Wrestling fans sometimes joke about the 3MB Prophecy, but there's another prophecy that looks to be much more realistic than Heath Slater coming back to win the WWE Title. Last Monday, Big E became the second member of The New Day to capture the WWE Championship. Big E successfully cashed in his MITB briefcase on Bobby Lashley, and he now joins Kofi Kingston when it comes to New Day members who won a singles world title in WWE.

To complete The New Day Prophecy, Xavier Woods needs to capture the WWE Championship. Although he's not seen as someone who could headline pay-per-views at the moment, stranger things have happened. Before Jinder Mahal got involved in the WWE Title scene, he was a lower-card competitor getting the short end of the stick against a wrestler like Mojo Rawley. It's time for wrestling fans to put the 3MB Prophecy aside in favor of one featuring ya boys.

History Of The 3MB Prophecy Meme

3MB WWE

The rockstar trio emerged in September 2012 and lasted until June 12, 2014, when both Jinder Mahal and Drew McIntyre were released by WWE. When Mahal and McIntyre returned, they came back with improved physiques and would become world champions during their second run with the company. On April 15, 2020, Heath Slater was released by WWE. In order for Slater to fulfill the prophecy, he'd need to come back better than ever and become a WWE Champion.

Wrestling fans made the meme of the "3MB Prophecy" famous and the members of the group, as well as the wrestling media, certainly are privy to the joke. But what appears to be a joke might actually be destiny. Mahal shocked the wrestling world when he defeated Randy Orton for the WWE Championship at Backlash 2017. McIntyre won the 2020 men's Royal Rumble and then defeated Brock Lesnar for the WWE Championship in the main event of Night Two of WrestleMania 36. Both men were considered jobbers at one point in their respective careers, much like Slater. It's possible that The One Man Southern Rockband could come back buff and ready for a run with the big one. After all, he's got kids to feed. Much like the releases of Mahal and McIntyre, Slater getting fired may become the best thing that ever happened to him.

The New Day Prophecy Emerges

Kofi Kingston Big E WWE Champions

The New Day Prophecy began during #KofiMania. In 2019, the WWE Universe once again got behind Kofi Kingston as a singles competitor during his outstanding performance in the Elimination Chamber. Kingston was riding high on a wave of momentum all the way to defeating Daniel Bryan for the WWE Title at WrestleMania 35. Kingston held onto the gold for 180 days before getting squashed by Brock Lesnar on the FOX premiere of SmackDown, which was also the show's 20th-anniversary special.

On September 13, 2021, Big E completed two-thirds of the prophecy when defeating Bobby Lashley for the WWE Championship. Before that episode of Monday Night Raw, Big E made his intentions clear that he was cashing in his Money In The Bank contract that night. Big E capitalized on a war-battered Lashley after he successfully defended the WWE Championship against Randy Orton.

The New Day Gimmick Started Off As Preachers

New Day Gospel Gimmick

After the initial plans for the trio were scrapped, they were brought back in the fall of 2014 with a black gospel gimmick. Woods, Kingston, and Big E's characters resembled Southern Baptist preachers and spoke about the power of positivity. It's very fitting that The New Day gimmick was introduced as something akin to religious preachers and now there's clearly a prophecy involving the group.

Back in June 2021, The New Day was voted as the top tag team in WWE history. Since its inception, the group has produced two WWE Champions and 11 reigns with tag team titles. The trio was destined for success and it may be only a matter of time before they complete the prophecy.

Xavier Woods Is The Last Puzzle Piece

Xavier Woods New Day Vignette

Xavier Woods is the last puzzle piece needed to complete The New Day Prophecy. Woods could even jump to the top title without having a mid-card title reign to his name, much like Jinder Mahal in 2017. But it may be smart to give him a test run with the United States Title or the Intercontinental Title before pushing Woods to the top like WWE just did with Big E. It's also worth noting that Woods is currently a better-booked wrestler than Mahal was leading up to his WWE Title run.

Woods was smart enough to earn himself multiple college degrees, but does he have what's needed to complete the prophecy?
