Raquel Gonzalez's next challenger appears to gave been confirmed after her tag team partner Dakota Kai attacked her this week on NXT.

Raquel Gonzalez is dead set on becoming the most dominant Women's Champion in NXT history. That is easier said than done as the title has quite the lineage. Asuka held the championship for more than 500 days, and Shayna Baszler has the reputation of being one of, if not the most dominant titleholders in NXT's history. Gonzalez is well on her way to joining the elite, though.

100 Days As NXT Women's Champion

Gonzalez recently surpassed 100 days as champion and has beaten some big names during her reign. Not only did she beat Io Shirai to become champion, but she has also fought off Ember Moon and Mercedes Martinez. This week on NXT, Gonzalez and her partner in crime Dakota Kai came to the ring and asked who will be stepping up to challenge the champ next.

Kai ended the promo from the two of them by claiming no one will be able to take the title from Gonzalez while she has her back. If true, then Gonzalez's title might well be in jeopardy as Kai followed up on those comments by attacking the champ. After dropping Gonzalez, Kai grabbed the title and held it over her fallen partner. The champ was obviously pretty shocked when she came to, shooting Kai a look as she left the ring.

Kai And Gonzalez's Rich History

Gonzalez was first introduced to NXT fans when she helped Kai beat Tegan Nox at a TakeOver event all the way back in February 2020. Both have helped each other win singles matches since then and have also enjoyed a lot of success as a team. The two won the first-ever women's Dusty Classic and subsequently became the first NXT Women's Tag Team Champions.

Kai might be talented and has a lot more experience in NXT than Gonzalez, but most fans would say the New Zealander gets more from this now broken partnership than the champ. A match between the two is yet to be officially announced, but the most likely landing spot will be TakeOver 36. The next TakeOver will be the night after SummerSlam. So far two matches have been announced for the card.
