PPVs are typically supposed to be the pinnacle of storylines and a moment where wrestlers really get to showcase their ability. Because they get extra time inside the ring, wrestlers are normally supposed to come out of these shows happy with the performances. Getting to see their peers have big moments, it should be a great night for everyone involved.

The event prior to the Royal Rumble has also reportedly hurt the morale backstage. The show itself was quite a fun one, but talent was left disappointed and frustrated at the treatment of Big E. Seeing him lose the WWE Title in the manner he did is a situation that did upset some talent.

It's something that showcases the popularity of Big E backstage. Sometimes, when a wrestler is so popular with the boys, them losing a big match can have an adverse affect, and that was the case on this particular night.

However, the bigger issue after this show was the fact that CM Punk quit. Anytime a big star opts to walk away from the business it is obviously a huge deal. Therefore, when someone as popular and important to the company as CM Punk bails, it causes issues for the talent.

Lesnar v Velaszquez Crown Jewel 2019

The Saudi Arabia shows, generally have brought mixed responses from the WWE locker room due to political reasons. This is why certain wrestlers have never appeared on the cards. However, the morale for the company was extremely low following Crown Jewel in 2019, which was all down to the travel.

These shows obviously require a lot of travel in the first place. However, the fact that the WWE talent plane didn't leave led to frustrations rising. Wrestlers were stuck on the plane for hours, and considering how far they had to go in the first place, it is understandable that morale took a hit.
